Imagine being an artist or smth and you are so excited about a 125$ pencil pro but you need to pay apple 1100$ for an iPad…absolute bullshit actually from Apple, they ain’t winning on this.

While I will be upgrading my 2018 iPad Pro 11 to a 2024 iPad Pro 11, I am happy that Apple finally upgraded the storage for the base model iPad Air. Hopefully Apple will do the same for the iPad mini and entry level iPad.
can you flip the magic keyboard all around? You can not with the first version. And its no smart folio keyboard available for the new iPad Pro.

The Magic Keyboard looks nice. My main concern is the aluminum against the glass screen. Is there some type of air gap or lip around the screen like on a MacBook?

@@pastuhI don’t know man it looks pretty dangerous for scratches if anything hard gets in between. Even if you plan on using a screen protector it may not be flush and could lead to worse problems. my m1 11 inch iPad Pro has a glass screen protector that has been really messing up the soft edges of my Smart Keyboard Folio
So is it true that the Apple Pencil Pro will not work with the newer version iPad Air is only the new ones that are being released with the pencil?

I only use my iPad for media consumption so I'm waiting for the Fall hopefully when they release a new Mini

all new stuff for m4 is just for m4 sucks right? pencil pro is just for m4, i thought im gonna cop at last an apple keyboard for my m2, they couldve double hinge it or something its just a 2mm difference, but what do i know in design and how things work 🤷♂️ looks like im sticking to my logitech 😂
I appreciate your enthusiasm for the lineup. I have a 4th gen iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard and 2nd gen pencil. With all that said I don’t believe there was enough innovation to upgrade. I think the overall movement of this latest generation will continue the trend. Diminishing returns. Innovation is barely noticeable.

No, it will not.
Pencil, definitely. Not even a second thought! The one feature I think is probably best is the one no one predicted: the "roll" feature, enabling Procreate brushes to rotate naturally instead of being stuck in the same orientation. That's bugged me a hundred times, and now it's no longer a concern.
The iPad Air is now a real competitor, because of the upgraded storage. I'd been considering an iPad Pro, almost entirely because of the larger storage options. I don't think I need 1TB, but 512 GB sounds very, very nice.
I'll be flying home after 15 years in China, so I'm thinking a new iPad loaded up with some movies might be the best way to make the flight to quickly.

No, the new iPad Pros are different dimensions. The larger one is a big bigger and they are both significantly thinner. Because of that, they won't fit correctly.

Can you flip the new magic keyboard behind the iPad?
All the new iPad Pro stuff looks great and will definitely be buying, although it would have been great if the new Magic Keyboard had some sort of hinge which you could change the angle dramatically so as you can draw and sketch with the same stand rather than having to invest in further multiple cases/stands to put the ipad into when you want to use it for drawings. Or maybe it does but have not seen it in any of the videos as of yet.

@@AppleInsider I am not sure where you get your info from, but, according to Apple website the 2nd gen apple pencil does not work with the new m4 iPad pro or the m2 iPad air. I'm peeved I cannot use my 2nd gen pencil with these new models.
@@malch2843 No, you're totally right. I was mistaken there. So much going on and I rushed out an answer. Only the cheap USB-C version and the new Apple Pencil Pro will work on the new iPad Pros.
Was hoping the new magic keyboard could expand the angle to the point it is similar to Microsoft surface pro 😞

Disappointed Apple Pencil Pro not backwards compatible to M1 and M2 iPad Pros. Extremely unhappy there is not a Keyboard Folio option. Need keyboard but don’t want overpriced and extremely heavy Magic Keyboards. Keyboard folio meet my requirements and so much more compact and lighter. Game changer and most likely won’t upgrade now 🙁
The 2018 11” iPad Pro was our first introduction to the iPad. The aluminium keyboard base is definitely a welcome change and the original design eventually evens up fraying at the edges… Still wonder as to why Apple can’t offer a three lens design and megapixels to draw parody with the iPhone Pro models…
Contemplating an upgrade this year, however, also wish they had introduced an iPad Mini Pro too…

No. The dimensions on the new iPads are slightly different. Not 100% sure about the pencil though.

I never use the trackpad on my laptop, or magic keyboard. Always use a mouse.
Having had all 3 of my iPad keyboards fail, I’m not in a rush to buy another one.

The only products I would have been interested in were the Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard, but since neither will work on my M2 12.9” iPad Pro, I’ll pass.

Not a big update tbh, they will only force me to upgrade to the M2 iPad to retain the compatibility with the keyboard & pen i already own.

What do you mean? It's a tablet already?
@@jaredweiman2987 correct, but you have to remove the iPad from the keyboard in order to use the iPad while moving around, such as during a lecture. To hold and use the iPad standing up without losing the protection of the keyboard.
Fantastic hardware…but why? iPadOS needs to do a lot more to justify $2K+ on an iPad Pro with accessories.
The m4 chip alone is worth it to handle the heavy projects that I have in situations that call for power, speed, and portability. As a professional with music, photography, and videography, I just need the pad and pencil and I will make my money back with it.
Unfortunatelly the dirt trapped between an iPad and the inner side of Magic Keyboard will scratch iPad's screen much better now. :( Screen protection glass is a must here!
I will be honest, I am happy with my current magic keyboard. Adding the function row isn't worth the money and I am fine with the size of the trackpad.

I’m pretty mad Apple is claiming the Apple Pencil 2nd gen is not supported! How? Why? This feels like forced obsolescence. Can you test what happens if you put the AP gen 2 on the new iPads?

the Pencil Pro being exclusive to the M4 iPad Pro or M2 iPad Air is ridiculous. Awful stuff by apple.
The choice was basically leave off new features or make it exclusive. That's the tradeoff.

And what about the older Apple Pencils? According to the store, the older pencils won’t work on the new iPads. This isn’t about new features. This is exclusivity for exclusivity’s sake.
I get it, it’s Apple, but this is pretty egregious.
@@brendenm8646 My understanding it is because of the connector. Apple had to redesign the charging and connection system. The reason Apple couldn't use a landscape camera in the past was because the Apple Pencil charging system was there. This had to be all changed to make that and the camera fit here. Because of that, it won't work with the old iPad Pro or iPad Air.

"For it's iPad lineup" I'm sorry but that's completely inaccurate, as the new Pencil is only compatible with the new iPads and not with the existing iPads. Meanwhile the old Pencil is not forward compatible. "Oh but you don't understand, they had to move the camera assembly" - Trust me, when they designed the current pencil 2nd Gen years ago, they knew they'd eventually be moving the camera assembly to the long side and could have figured out spacing then - OR simple changed the side the pencil is mounted to. Just another money grab at this point. More to the point, if you disagree, then Apple isn't nearly as visionary as I thought. Just another money grab at this point packaged in an excuse many will not question out of loyalty.
Overpriced waste. Worst value. With that money go get a MacBook Pro instead
