Best reaction from this masterpiece of music! Love that you guys get it!! Not to mention the outstanding musicians that accompanied the genius who will forever be Prince 💜
I was lucky enough to hear this, my favorite Prince’s song in a very intimate concert. He invite himself to join the Montreal Jazz Fest, the organizers were able to find a “small” room concert to fit his needs, and it was 3 hours of joy. Prince sang, danced and entertained us as if we were all in his living room. Such a shame that he’s not with us anymore. 💜
Friends dragged me to "Purple Rain" which I didn't want to see. The second "Let's Go Crazy" cranked up I became a Prince fan for life!! And he was crazy in love with Joni Mitchell just as I am.

Prince is everything. Funkiest of funk, pop, rock, blues, R & B, original in every way. The ultimate perfectionist and a musician who could and would play every instrument along with composing, producing, arranging. Minneapolis’s own Mozart. A gift to the world.
My friend and I would decipher Prince lyrics when his albums came out in the 80's. "Pop Life" was the other hit off this album. You have to listen to "If I Were Your Girlfriend"
You guys HAVE TO watch the live performance in Paris with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings when Prince comes on stage to play guitar. Sharon dances up a storm in that one, she’s on fire! RIP Sharon and Prince.
Prince did the solo for While My Guitar Gently Weeps at a tribute to George Harrison. On the stage were Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan, and he outshone them all. If you enjoy good guitar work, find it here on UA-cam and listen to it.
Something has always bothered me about that piece. That was an event honoring George Harrison, and Prince made it all about himself; play the song and move on. To me a better way to do it was Geddy Lee (Rush) did for Yes’s induction; the way Geddy played for Chris Squire (RIP) on ‘Roundabout.’ Geddy just stood in the background and played the part, and let the band have their night.
I think everyone should see that performance. if you didn't know PRINCE was a master of guitar, you did after this! and the way the others just stepped back and gave the stage to the maestro to pay homage to GEORGE HARRISON! even they were in awe of him! and . . . where's the guitar? 😊 👍😃❣️😃👍🥰❤️🥰

Another funky sound from Prince was "Erotic City" with Sheila E and there was an interview with her I guess it was sometime after Prince's passing where she was asked how she came into singing the song with Prince. She listened to instrumental part of the song and all she could say was it's a funky song and it's going to be a hit. When she read the lyrics she said "I am not going to say that word" meaning Erotic City but she agreed to sing to the rest of the lyrics. Sure enough she was right. Erotic City became a huge hit.
