Recent Unblock! We had not reacted to Sheila E yet at this point in our journey! It was super cool to put two and two together after reading the comments on our Sheila E reaction. Thanks guys!
Sheila E or Sheena Easton? Sheila E was the drummer here who had a huge smash hit with “Love Bazaar”. Sheena Easton was the singer here who had many many solo hits of her own including “Morning Train” which you recently reacted to.

I know you guys have reacted to Sheena Easton on the channel. Didn't recognize her? Well she did have a different look but same great voice! Keep up with more Prince, his library is very diverse!
I know it's confusing, but the woman singing the duet with Prince is Sheena Easton, not Sheila E. However, Sheila E. is in this video. She's the one playing the drums. Sheila E. also has a career as a recording artist, and you should definitely check her out on female Friday. I'd recommend starting with The Glamorous Life or A Love Bizarre.
Sheena Easton, not Shiela E. Since this reaction was filmed, you’ve reacted to “Morning Train” by Sheena Easton. That was her first pop hit in the US. This is a different style altogether for Sheena.
Sheena Eastons singing and Sheila E on drums…. 3 amazing musicians.
Sheila E. is so underrated. One of the greatest drummers of all time, and still doing it!
Sheila E by herself deserves some Female Friday love… my wife’s favorite song of hers is The Bells of St Mark
Sheila E’s drumming, in person, it’s a mind-blowing experience, she is one of the worlds best drummers, no question.
Undoubtedly both slammed by Prince...🤫
@@JohnM...No they weren't into men
Prince is the only guy who can walk into a bar in heels and a fur coat and walk out with your girl.
Jay and Amber, you do realize the female vocalist is Sheena Easton. Yes, Sheena “My Baby Takes the Morning Train” Easton. Nice, wholesome Scottish gal corrupted by Prince. Get her Prince!!
You should seriously check out the whole Sign O’ the Times concert video, one of the greatest ever.
Fantastic concert
Can't go wrong with Prince, like ever. (And you are correct, you've done seven of his songs.) I'm sure you'll watch Purple Rain on your movie channel soon... but I hope you'll still react to "Baby I'm a Star" from that soundtrack. It'll get you moving! I also highly recommend "Cream", "7", "Sign O' the Times", and my personal fave, "Mountains" (a truly underrated song).
What's your opinion of "Diamonds and Pearls"? I'm just curious.
Yes Mountains is My Favorite Song from him of All time that song was never on the radio it only came out as a Video on MTV for the Soundtrack for his Movie Under the Cherry Moon if wasn’t for that it just would’ve been a Song on the album I think That’s why I love that Song so Much it didn’t get over played on the radio like his other songs did at that time
Yeah, they MUST check out Purple Rain, the movie! And I was just about to suggest CREAM and DIAMONDS and PEARLS! All of his stuff is extraordinary! PRINCE is a GOAT!
RIP Prince💜
Mountains is one of my favorites too! And Baby I’m a Star is amazing.
Facts about "Mountains"
Being a teen/young adult in the 80s was THE BEST. I'm so glad you guys did this! The other day, y'all reacted to Sheena Easton. She is the one singing with Prince here. She had a bunch of hits in her own right, some of them written by Prince.
Prince brought out the saucy in Sheena Easton! She went from a demure Scottish lass to a sexy Femme fatale! 😂. I also loved Sheila E on percussions!! This song and video are both so much fun! ❤❤
Prince was very shy when he wanted to be and very much an extrovert when he wanted to be. Y’all should check out his interviews. He was humble in most, but yet when asked about music in general he states his music is incomparable to anyone else. Truly nothing compares 2U Prince!
Prince was one of the kind, he helped a lots of his band members achieve fame he was awesome.
I had never heard of sheena easton until this hit.
Please, please, please! Watch Purple Rain the Movie. You're going to love it! Actually Prince was a one woman man. His friends said that when he was with someone he would lavish them with gifts and attention. They said it was kinda of embarrassing 🙄😊
Prince was many things, but a "one woman man" he was not.
I think his devotion was a big part of his sex appeal for a lot of women, tbh. I know I found it endearing. 😊
Absolutely can not go wrong with any Prince song. He was a musical genius. Great reaction! The Beautiful Ones is another great one to react to.
This was Prince's best album in my humble opinion, SIGN O THE TIMES!
Prince .....There is only one word to describe him.......GENIUS ........
When I was growing up, Prince Was a big deal for me I had such a crush on this man I had his posters all over my room. Till this day and I’m fit to years old I still love this man he was an amazing artist
From 1980, when MTV began, most big names and innovative new bands had videos for most songs. 90's, too.
The g.o.a.t to me and mine. If you been a Prince fan for your life you know how amazing he was. I hope you all do another 50 or 60 of his hits an B side hits and club staples. Best to all
Another great reaction. The album and film SIGN O’ THE TIMES is among Prince’s greatest work…you need to review both in their entirety.
Prince is the greatest solo artist of the 80s. He's also the greatest band of the 80s.
Prince!!! The complimentary song!!!!
The man was just an amazing musical genius... absolute genius..
Oh the Fabulous Prince Rodgers Nelson, What a Guitarist & Songwriter. Pure Showman 🔥🔥🔥🎸🥰
A underrated Sheena Easton song you should check out is "The Lover in Me" with the official video - it has a sax solo
Lyrics are phenomenal in this -
Makes a comment about it took her an hour to make up her face, then
"closing time, ugly lights, everybody's inspected,
but you are a natural beauty unaffected,
did I say an hour? may face is red,
I stand corrected"
Like, house lights came on, and people don't look so good, but not her, and he's like "oh, you're really just that hot"
Also, the lyric is "heck-a-slammin'" which is just "hella slammin" but language cleaned up for radio at that time, which was super restrictive.
His genius and perfectionism shows
The Last time I was in Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas, there was a display of one of the Prince concert costumes. I was flabbergasted by how diminutive it was. He was a very tiny man. All that power in such a small frame.
3:30 Agreed 🤝 : Fun Fact: PRINCE was gaining popularity, but what put him over the top was his MTV videos. You literally got to see his on stage performances. He was all about his live performances. His Band Practiced a Ton and it showed. ❤😎 I just ❤ that MAN.❤🔥🎶🌟
Prince and Sheena! Cant get any better than that!!! Great reaction!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! You two just made it through your first video where you didn't close your eyes! It's the reason why videos were made
Sugarwalls sang by Sheena Easton check it out.!! It was banned on some channels
Watch Charlie Murphy talk about Prince. Absolutely hysterical glimpse into Prince. 😄
OMG, he was so yummy. His music helped me lose weight back in the day. Clubbing was just a thang.
Amber, that is exactly what I've always pictured, too. lol He's hanging out with his friends, checking out the people in the club, and then *she* walks in, dressed in peach and black (classic 80's), big hair, gorgeous face (which he later realizes is *not* because of make-up), slamming body, and he's floored. She strolls in with her friends, looks around, sees him looking at her, checks him out, and he is absolutely her type. It's one of those scenes that play out all the time, but when Prince does it, it's somehow like a blockbuster movie. lol Sheena Easton looks amazing in this video, as does Sheila E. Great reaction!
I can personally verify that what you see is what you get. That is prince honest and true. Very animated, social, but an amazing sense of humor and confident but not arrogant.
They call it the IT FACTOR and not all singers have it but Prince does
I saw Prince in Detroit at the Palace of Auburn hills it was the one of best concert ever seen
To answer your question at 7:07, you should watch Purple Rain and his interviews. When not on stage he is so chill, quiet, & somewhat serious. He really gets dramatic on stage. It's quite a dichotomy!
What I find funny is that the guitar Intro reminds me in a way of that of INXS' "need you tonight" and both Songs were released in the same year.
Prince is a Legend. 🎸💞🙏🏻🏆👍🏻
I actually have never left a comment before for anyone. I wanted to know I really enjoy watching your reaction videos. Especially Prince, brings back good teenage memories. Prince was completely a self taught music genius. He was also from the start a very religious soul. He was all about empowerment. Now for my recommendation for video of his to watch, I have 2 , Diamonds and Pearl's and Creme. I hope you enjoy them
That was Cat dragging him back and Sheila E on the drums and dancing in the one legged white outfit. This is from Sign O' the Times concert. Prince was always Prince 💜💜💜
I just love your channel. You guys are such a great couple and for somebody who’s a bit older than you guys it’s heartwarming you checking out all the great music and movies you’ve never heard or seen before. Discovery is such a wonderful thing. Keep up the great work.
so, jay and amber, prince was married to his craft and art. always creating, changing, and reinventing himself. but if you watch interviews of him early on he was very shy. as he got older you saw his personality and humour shine in interviews. two things that are MUST sees are prince at the super bowl, considered the best performance ever, even though last years was HUGE, and his guitar playing in george harrisons rock and roll hall of fame induction with steve winwood, jefff lynne and tom petty to name just a few. btw, sheena easton was the female lead in the video and you have reacted to her. sheila e was the percussionist you heard in the beginning of the song in white. you need to react to her song 'glamourous life'. another prince 'family' band you havent touched is morris day and the time. "jungle love', 'the bird' and 'jerk out' are great songs to react too. and yes, we are ALL waiting for you guys to react to Purple Rain the movie. keep on rocking! you guys rule!!
Definitely need to do “Get Off” and “Sexy MF”. This are two of his best songs ever.
Prince had a great sense of humour in his lyrics
Prince was quiet and quite shy
YES! More *SHEENA EASTON* !!! Got to LOVE that woman! Oh yeah, YAY PRINCE!!!
Minnesota represent. First of all, great song, second of all, Sheila E on drums, third of all, Prince was an amazing guitar player.
So happy for you guys to have finally heard and reacted to this song 🙂👍
Glad you are both enjoying Prince my first song I heard by Prince was Dirty Mind . Prime never called us fans we were his real family !
Always in the mood to hear Prince!
Prince was the greatest thing we ever saw! The greatest thing we ever heard! This was a pretty rockin' obligatory song to promote Sheena Easton. That's how you push product for Warner, folks.
Pure Magic!
Two of my favorite Prince proteges. Sheena Easton and Sheila E!
PRINCE, THE REVOLUTION, SHEILA E and SHEENA EASTON.....can't go wrong!!!🇨🇦🇨🇦❤
Don’t forget about Prince love songs in the 80’s “Do Me Baby and International Lover”
Prince is the GOAT. Period.
The woman in the video singing was Sheena Easton who sang Morning Train.
I miss Prince. We thought of him as the dirty boy of R&R. So risqué to us at the time. 😊. He was a once in a lifetime talent.
The female singer was is one of the biggest stars of the late 70's and 80's, Sheena Easton. He produced a big hit for her, Sugar Walls. I think "Hecka" means the same thing as "Hella" like 'Hella good".
This song is by Prince feat. Sheena Easton. "Your face is jammin'," "Your body's heck-a-slammin'."
He jumps from the piano with those HEELS.. not to mention the genius in everything he does, and HE DOES IT ALL.
Prince was truly that musical genius guy. I don't know if anyone has mentioned that the man was capable of playing like 20 instruments plus he wrote and composed music. And his guitar skills are up there with some of the best ever.
YAY! Love me some Prince!
This SONG is Heck-a-Slammin'!!
prince was so good! with the uk's sheena easton!!! ; )
These two are genuine 😂
As others have said, this was a duet and should be titled as "Prince and Sheena Easton".
"...stuff just floats in the video that makes no sense." Hahaha, that is SO true. Back in the 80's they threw all kinds of weird stuff in music videos that had nothing to do with anything. Somebody just thought it was cool and that's all it took, lmao
Love Prince!!!
yall should see SIGN O THE TIMES, it's a live performance in France, this whole album, this video is the dream sequence of that concert
This is a very different Sheena Easton then when you watched her sing "9-5 (Morning Train)".
He found such talented musicians, like Sheena Easton, Tina Marie, Shiela E… He didn’t just put on a good show, he made sure you got the best of the best in musicians.
Hey, two quick things. In the song Hotel California when the Eagles sing "Stab it with the Steely Knife" is actually a reference to Steely Dan (a rival band) LOL
Love me some Prince
Sign of the Times was a good album. Came out in early 90's
“Your body’s hecka slamin’ .. you got the look!”
Another great video. The line is "your body's hecka-slammin'"...and yes, we used to say heck-a :)
He is the Mozart of the 20 century and Sheena is the Voice
Just making sure you found out who the female singer was, though others have mentioned her name already. You recently reacted to Sheena Easton a few days ago with her first hit song, “Morning Train”. You wouldn’t know from her singing, but she’s Scottish with a definite accent when she speaks but not when she sings. She had a pretty squeaky-clean image, and though fairly successful, even singing a James Bond theme song, she wanted to change her image a bit. She became a kind of protege to Prince and he helped produce and write songs for one of her albums.
"Heckin" wasn't said in the 1980's, as the term first emerged in the 2010's. They lyrics of this song are "heck-a slammin."
And yes sheena easton in a light we have never expected
Jr High Muskogee Oklahoma…man…this was my song I could not stop listening to all year. It took all school year to save my Pennie’s to finally get Sign ‘O The Times cassette. Double album double price sadly. But so damn good. This song started it off.
I’m watching this on my Roku TV right now as I’m commenting and let me say you picked a classic! On a sidenote, and I’m sure somebody else’s point this out, the woman that he’s singing with his named Sheena Easton. Who is a great singer and her own right! If you want to check out anything by her, one solo song I can definitely suggest is “Sugar walls.“
She is very famous for her duets. Her best gnome is one she did with the late Kenny Rogers. I can’t think of the name at this moment but she did another one with Prince called “The arms of Orion“ from the Batman 1989 soundtrack, which by the way prince did the entire soundtrack!
And, finally, I don’t know if you’ve checked her out yet but definitely check out Sheila E who is also in his video playing on the drums.
You know what they say about Prince. He’s the only 5’2” guy that can walk into a club wearing heavy eyeliner, purple velvet and platform boots - and walk out with YOUR girl!
Danced a million miles to this back in day. She's saying Hecta or Hector Slamming. Which means huge and hard.
THIS SONG!!! 😍 My high school first love (and eventually the father of our daughter) used to sing this to me and I'd do Sheena's part. 😂 Ultimately, we didn't last but my memories sure did! He passed away last month (Aug 26th at 52 years old) and I've been reminiscing 😢...I knew I could count on you two to hook me up! Thanks guys ❤
THE ENTIRE "PURPLE RAIN" ALBUM IS IN TOP 10!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸❤❤❤❤🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎸🎸🎸🎸
The line is "Your face is jammin Your body's heck-a-slammin"
Heck-a-slammin'!
A Lovely Duo!🙆🥰🤗🎶🎼💃
He was my rock God and I can’t come to term with losing him yet. I just cant
The Fifth Element has no doubt been recommended for the movie channel. Chris Tucker's role as Ruby Rhod was based on Prince overall, but particularly from this song. If you do watch the flick, you'll catch the homage
Another brilliant track from Prince. You gotta do Kiss too.
Love this song so much, lyrics are sensual and seductive but also playful and humorous. Musically it's pretty straightforward compared to some of his really complex compositions and productions, but the lead and backing vocals are deceptively intricate and full of details. Just a bangin' funky pop/rock song from his masterpiece album Sign O' the Times. I only saw him live once, on the Musicology tour, but we had great 10th row seats, it may be the best live performance I've ever seen. His live act was stellar without relying on elaborate over the top staging and choreography. That part was all very well conceived and thought out, but the real show just came first and foremost from he and his band's impeccable musicianship, and then his incredible vibe and charisma as performer. We were on our feet dancing from the opening note of Musicology straight into Let's Go Crazy until the closing moments of encore closer Purple Rain. I was heartbroken when he passed (just a few months after David Bowie), and for those who never heard and saw him perform live, I'm so sorry, you don't know what you missed.
My favorite Sheena Easton song is from the James Bond Movie, "For Your Eyes Only
"
You have got to do the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (the remastered 2021 video)!!!
That's Steve Winwood, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn (E.L.O.) and Prince kills it!
I saw the reaction about Let’s Go Crazy about his guitar playing and wonder why you haven’t done While My Guitar Gently Weeps. That performance is a must see ( or hear)
The boss, the genius! 👍👍👍
Sheena Easton was also in this, she was the female singer. You reacted to her video Morning Train.
