    Kamado joe needs to be sponsoring you by now. Lol you and James are the main reason i am a proud Kamado joe owner . Great videos and great tips. I am working hard to build my own bbq studio and start making videos of my experiences as a beginner. Blessings.

    Great video! I have an older Big Joe that was just given to me. I was wondering if a latch would help as all thenews have a latch.

    James was a big reason I went for the Big Joe instead of a classic. The biggest benefit is the divide and conquer allows half moons to fit better things, so both main dish and side dishes can all be taken care of with plenty of room.
    Also the DoJoe is wider so you can do better pizza sizes.
    Full brisket fits, as well as many ribs without standing upside on a rib rack.
    It's literally the best cooking device. It does everything. Only issue is it's too big for smaller things, takes too much time and charchol but I kept my Joe Jr so no issue.

    • @BartlowsBBQ
      @BartlowsBBQ  2 роки тому

      Absolutely! That's why I kept my junior for week day quick small cooks and big joe for bigger full meals! So happy with it!

      @@BartlowsBBQ glad you didn't get rid of the Jr, it's so handy. What I did get rid of was my gas grill. Wife made me sell it because I haven't been using it which is fair.

    I'd like to see you cook a meat along with sides, having them all finish about the same time. Something we'd do for our family and a few friends on the weekend type of cook.

    With the Joe Jnr basket, you could do quick midweek burgers in only a few mins more than using Gas!! Like the idea of using lump charcoal too, going off briquettes….

    • @BartlowsBBQ

      Absolutely, joe junior is so versatile! Lump charcoal is ideal for the Kamado.

    I need to move my BJ3 by myself into the base. Any tips?

    • @BartlowsBBQ
      @BartlowsBBQ  2 роки тому +1

      That's going to be fought doing solo. I definitely recommend two people unless you got some type of lift equipment using mover straps or something. Otherwise, two people lifting from airlift hinge and front bottom vent area. I'll think about another option.

    • @thecappy
      @thecappy 2 роки тому

      @@BartlowsBBQ the wife and I tried with lifting straps. No go on her end. I’ll look into piano movers.

    The legs on your cart look slightly bent to the left. Exact same problem I had with mine. I had to fight with customer service but they ended up sending me a welded cart. Much more sturdy.

    • @BartlowsBBQ
      @BartlowsBBQ  2 роки тому

      Glad customer service took care of you. I'll have to check that out on mine. It seems to be very sturdy without thinking about it but notice it now that you mention it! Appreciate you making me aware! It does appear to have a slight bent. I'm going to request a new cart!

    I was looking forward to sn unboxing and setup video - which this is NOT. What a disappointment. I'm getting really fed up with these infomercials. Shame.

    • @BartlowsBBQ
      @BartlowsBBQ  Рік тому

      Hey Man! I'm curious what you are specifically fed up with related to this video being a infomercial besides highlighting the grill gun. This video did show a unboxing and setup, so kind of confused on your comment. Always appreciate hearing feedback. Be sure to check out other KJ related setup videos as most of them are pretty much the same.

      @@BartlowsBBQ The titel of the video was the unboxing of the Kamado Joe. Instead all I saw was what the features were and how great the thing is. Well, I already am sold.
      But I wanted to know the minute details of how this thing is assembled and so I could take a better guess if myself and my wife could assemble this together on not. In particular I wanted to get an idea of how much strain a man like you and his friends (how many I don't know as you did not bother to show the actual assembly) had to engage in. I'm many weeks into a Chemo regiment and pretty debilitated and will probably but a smaller Joe because there is NO actual footage of the nitty gritty of assembly and I can't guess how heavy and thus diffictul this step is.

    • @BartlowsBBQ
      @BartlowsBBQ  Рік тому +3

      @@1DrBar I can't imagine what you are going through and will keep you in my prayers. Yes, the big joe is going to weigh under 500 pounds and will take two people to lift into the base. Everything can be put together as I showed by one person but highly recommend 2 people to lift into the base. The new konnected joe I actually lifted myself as it has two built in handles. If you don't want to break the bank and something easy to assemble I would consider Joe Junior, Kettle Joe or classic series. I hope that helps. Let me know how else I can help. Also, DM me on instagram if you want at bartlowsbbq. I would love to share a possible way I could help getting you the right KJ.

      @@BartlowsBBQ Thank you. Sorry for being so brusque. I already have the junior and the Big Joe would be the perfect companion, but I doubt that my wife and I could assemble it. Cheers.
