Every time I hear this piece its moves me and he plays it with such expression that brings out the real feeling and emotion that this piece suppose to have. This is near perfect performance (so far).
Thanks very much for your reply. That is the correct title as Llobet called his work, but Llobet assumed Sor wrote the theme. "Llobet"s variations on Sor's variations of Las Folias" seems kind of verbose. It is a great work at any rate. Most performers of the piece do know it's heritage.
You know, every time I searched for the correct title for this variations and even for the different movements I found different versions on the net. If you think the title of the video or something on the description should be changed feel free to post your opinion, it will certainly be welcome. Thank you for stopping by and for your work on one of the best musical / guitar channels on YT: SoloGuitaristNet. Greetings friend !
The Information is not 100% acurate, however I read that at least, the Llobet recording was played with a "De Miranda" guitar; maybe in this performance he used the same one (just guessing...).
Lorenzo certainly does a wonderful job here, Bravo!!! ... but with all due respect to Maestro Llobet, Fernando Sor did not write this theme. "Las Folias" was at least a few centuries old when Sor created his variations. Gaspar Sanz did his own version for five-course baroque guitar in the late 1600's,. Many versions are known to predate the Sanz. In fact there are now actually hundreds of versions of this theme. Llobet's is certainly one of the most ambitious. Thanks for posting!
There should be no thumbs down . . . this was beyond perfect playing imo . . . BRAVO!

The sound quality of this recording is bad, BUT I DON'T CARE BECAUSE LORENZO IS SO PERFECT
the pauses are a nice idea, but I'd prefer them to be a little shorter
