    I was saving up for the Xtools S1 but the price keeps increasing which is pricing me out, so I'm considering S30. Should I keep saving or buy the S30?

      I didn't have any issues with the S30 but it really comes down to personal preference. I would however really consider a machine with a full enclosure as it is much safer and better for your eyes and lungs.

      @@BusterBeagle3D Thanks for your advice. Safety is very important. I have purchased the Sculpfun B1 protective cover. I'm shocked at how huge it is. It doesn't have a base platform; it just goes over the laser, so I may have to tape around it to stop fumes from escaping underneath. I need a workshop. :) I plan to upgrade the S9 to a S30 and buy the Extool S1 at a later date. I just can't afford it now.

    regarding wanting a constant low-pressure when engraving: have you thought about adding a Y-fitting connected to a low-pressure air source (aquarium pump? shop air compressor with regulator?) to the Air Assist line (after the pump)? That way you'd have a constant low pressure air flow that would be supplemented by the Air Assist main line when directed. Thanks for the video!

      I typically have a valve that I put inline in the hose to restrict the air pressure to how I need it. I just wish it was an automatic process that I don't have to babysit. I will be reviewing a laser very soon which is supposed to be able to adjust the airflow through the gcode being sent to the machine which is really what I was referring to.

    can I also buy a 20W laser and put that on my S30 pro max 10W machine

    Thanks for the video! at and around the 8:10 mark the text looks a bit rough. was that on purpose or is the machine not super accurate please? thank you again!

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  2 місяці тому +1

      No. I can't 100% remember but I'm guessing that was because I tried to run the text far faster then I should have. It was a mistake in processing as any machine would probably have trouble running outline text too fast.

    Great video, thanks. What would be the advantage of getting the 20W as opposed to the 10W

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  6 місяців тому

      Only real advantage is cutting speed. You might able be able to engrave faster but the trade off is that a 20W laser has a larger spot size which could mean lower resolution engravings. Might not be enough for you to even notice on most engravings but if detail is important the smaller the laser spot the higher the detail.

    Awesome video mate. I have been considering this machine as an addition to my current setup.

    I've had a 40w co2 laser and an Atomstack 5w diode laser. I like diode lasers because they do the same job on any spot on the work space, unlike a co2 laser where you have the mirrors and laser lens lined up exactly ( which takes a long time) to get the same results. That being said , instead of "air assist" on my next laser I'll have "vacuum assist" to remove the smoke not just blow it around. This is a good review but I'm always a little gun shy of reviews on company donated machines. that"s just me

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  Рік тому

      The air assist on the unit isn't really for just smoke removal but is used to strengthen the power of the laser beam in a specific spot. Think of it like blowing on embers in a fire to increase the heat and fan the flames. It also does a great job of removing the kerf so you not only get a cleaner but a deeper cut.
      I completely understand being hesitant of reviews where the product is provided to the reviewer but that is also why I'm not shy to point out any issues I find with the machines I review. Just a quick browse through some of my other videos and you will see plenty of times where I talk about this or that needing improvements and the best part to me is when an company actually listens and makes a change. All opinions are my own and nothing is "vetted" by the companies I make them for. I also do not charge for any review that I make to stay impartial although I do sometimes get affiliate commissions sometimes if people use my links.
      Anyway thanks for watching!

    Hi,
    Very informative video! Do you know if the Sculpfun S30 Pro Max 33W laser can cut 1/8" gloss black acrylic and 0.125" white or black polystyrene? Please let me know.
    Thank you,
    Ed

    Will this machine engrave a silver plate spoon?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  Рік тому +1

      To be honest I'm not sure. I know it can so stainless but I'm not sure if you would need a fiber laser to do silver.

    Hello. thanks for a great video!
    What settings have you changed? I have a problem with the speed when I upload an image. it chops and goes slow. but with other layers it works well with higher speed for me

    Hi, great video! Does this machine cut acrylic in one pass? If yes, how thick? Thanks !

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  10 місяців тому +1

      Hello. I didn’t cut acrylic but I don’t see why it wouldn’t. It can’t cut clear acrylic or some other colors but black should be fine. My educated guess would be 10mm in one pass with the proper speeds but that’s just a guess based on some of my other lasers.

    HI. One thing I couldn't find anywhere...Can this laser machine cut a regular paper? or I need special CO2 laser?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  Рік тому +1

      Yes. It can cut paper, you don't need a CO2 for that. You just have to be careful to not catch things on fire.

    Is it easy to change that speed settings a bit higher ?
    Can it also be done in GRBL ?
    Thankyou

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  Рік тому

      You can adjust the speed but honestly I wouldn’t even go as high as the speed I mentioned. You really don’t want to go faster then the machine can handle. You can however change this speed setting in LaserGRBL if that is what you meant. It’s under GRBL> GRBL configurations.
