Bro... that halal spot Ghreeb nawaz Use to be half the price on everything Inflation and new management increased the prices I remember when they first opened chicken briyani use to be $3 😳 and would feed 2 It's only $6 now which is still great
The real winners??... Your audience lol. Top notch production value, fun game featuring dope eateries, immaculate vibes from both brosephs... I mean, this content is an easy dub haha. Keep this thing going fellas. Much love!
As a Chicagoan, Rob was robbed!!! We have some of the best diner food here and you can hardly go wrong in Chinatown. Gareeb Nawaz is also one of my favorite spots in the city.
Firmly agree! Albany Park? West Rogers Park?! Deep cuts, local moves. Guys, next time (and closer to the loop) - Lou Mitchell’s for classic American breakfast, Uncle Mike’s for Filipino, and Pocho’s for Mexican breakfast. You’re welcome.
Few people know Chicago's dining scene as well as I do. Bold statement, but true. I love my city, but our late night scene isn't particularly strong. Our diner and breakfast spots are solid, but not great.
For the no phone, asking a local for rec is prob best. Maybe adding local rec as a daily special is an option. Like, choose 1 out of 3 recs from locals you run into.
I do agree that the voting results on insta are mostly based on appearances from the photo. Not sure if it's about the amount, but there's needs to be a certain je ne sais quoi in the meal choice. I'm certain that butter chicken was unreal (and I would have prob voted for it), but there's no way to tell from the picture that it was an exceptional version of that dish.
I agree with this. My advice to Rob would be to pick more colorful food. That butter chicken looked delicious to me on camera seeing the gloss of the sauce but the tacos just looked nicer cuz of the variety of colors.
Algorithm pull -> Immediate subscription. When Rob got hit with the first Daily Special, I said to my fiancé, “I wonder if he’s going to Ghareeb Nawaz?” I felt so cool. Lol
As a native Chicagoan, I applaud you guys for venturing far and wide to eat. I've been to 4/6 places and all are delish in my book. Ruby's served up a generous portion of longanisa. When I heard fusion, I immediately thought of Del Seoul. For those who are skeptical, their shrimp and fish tacos are GOOD! After Del Seoul, I recommend walking down the street and check out Molly's cupcakes and Aloha Eats. And Chi Cafe is not the best chinese food but the vibes are good to eat tasty food and socialize. I've been there many times to sober up. Great job!
I'm Team Rob for this one because a lot of the food he chose felt like soul food, y'know? I ended up binge-watching the other 4 episodes (it's so good, hopefully you keep making more). I definitely think Julien earned his other wins or it could have gone either way. But this time, it should have been Rob who won.
The insta votes are all about the photo. Need to get the right framing and arrangement of the food. The food needs a lot of detail and color. Loving this series, y'all should come to d.c!
Ghareeb is a foundational to the neighborhood! Tbh he could have gotten 3 dishes for the same price cause some are under $3 ~ so glad y’all came to Chicago and enjoyed delicious food! Hope y’all come again :-D
I've been to most all those spots and Rob was Robbed. You had value, different types of food, and showed a few of our best food neighborhoods. Rob for the win
Y’all are such a joy to watch-have looked forward to every episode dropping so far! Loving this ep-pausing midway to celebrate that Rob made it to Ritual Coffeehouse 😭 Our fave spot in our old neighborhood-used to walk there to hang with our dog on the weekends 🖤
Rob - the game is simple. Your food has to be photogenic and colorful! (It’s going on IG after all). You always end up choosing some probably delicious but brown mess. But you play for the love of the game so gotta respect that.
Rob's trip on the holiday train was great. I loved his choice for dinner too. That Chinese place is somewhere I would go. I would have gave Rob more points for dinner. The best gift.......Rob's mixed snack bag. Let us vote for best 🎁. Best overall adventure for the day...Rob for the holiday train, dogs and people he met on his trip.
I feel like Mu chooses the trendy things that are instagrammable, and that’s why he tends to win. Watching this episode I wholeheartedly agree with every choice of Rob’s, but maybe that’s just because our tastes align more. Not to say that I wouldn’t enjoy any of Mu’s choices, but Rob is the real winner in my eyes. Keep on making these great videos, you two!
Thanks for the Chicago love! Rubys is great Filipino food and props to Rob for going to West Ridge and Chinatown to give those neighborhoods and restaurants some love.
You both killed it - great job! I lived in Albany Park for 5 years, Ruby's is great!. Devon has so many amazing spots for things like butter chicken. Always go for the garlic naan too!
Isn’t Chicago awesome? My wife and I are foodies and we did a no repeat restaurant tour in 2024 trying a new location each time. We visited 40 restaurants this year and every one of them was fantastic. Enjoyed your show enjoying Chicago cuisine.
I love this series so much! Made myself a bowl of tonkotsu ramen and enjoyed seeing you guys' food adventures - also what a cool train and such cute dogs in Chicago, 10/10! I understand why Mu won, but both of you guys had such awesome meals. Personally I wish I could call it a tie! I love learning about the history of different restaurants and seeing your interactions with the cooks/workers as well. :)
I'm a little offended you called my neighborhood the suburbs, but I'm also very happy with the way you guys showcased some great places in my city. Nice video
All of the places you guys been too looked amazing. The Christmas train looked so cool 😎 congratulations Julian for the win. You guys both won with those amazing foods. 😎
Rob you were right in my neighborhood! I pass the Christmas tree in Lincoln Square every day i walk to and from the train. And you definitely won this with your choices. 😃
Couple of collage friends lived two doors down from Diner Grill. We'd hit it with the 2am crowd and then again at noon for the hangover. Haven't been in years but its nice to see it still thriving! Good times and good food
Great choices, being from Irving Park it was a lot of fun to see y'all walking around that area and Lincoln Square. Ghareeb is such a great place for cheap food. Used to be you could get like 2 pounds of chili chicken biryani for $5 and the taste is delicious. Really did the job for a college kid.
Rob chose some elite Chicago spots. Diner Grill is unassuming but will really surprise you and Ghareeb literally is the best butter chicken I’ve ever had. I haven’t tried that Korean taco spot but idk I’m going w Ghareeb over that place
As a new Chicago resident, this video rocks. I loved seeing familiar places. ALSO you are so lucky t have seen the holiday train randomly. My friends and I have never ran into it like that.
This was so entertaining and informative. I want to try all of these places, and I'll start with those Korean tacos. They look delicious!!!. Plus, you guys did all that good eating for just $50. I love my city❤
I swore Rob was going to get it with the diner, I thought that was a winner. Heading to Wrigley was a good move with a lot of really good options around it, the curse was a blessing.
I was literally thinking to myself, for late night it has to be somewhere in Chinatown and I would totally do Chi Cafe. I was pleasantly surprised that you went! I myself would've gone with beef brisket in Portuguese sauce baked over rice instead of the noodles, but you can't go wrong with Chi Cafe, especially late at night. Also Mu absolutely killed his breakfast and lunch choices. You guys earned a sub out of me.
I get where you are coming from but I enjoyed that they showcased other food it shows that there is a bunch of great other food in Chicago besides our typical pizza, hot dog, Italian beef, etc place that Chicago is known for because we have such an amazing selection of food and cultures
I think the difference comes from the fact that the format favors the more visually appealing food. Like I know for 100% fact that that butter chicken probably tasted divine but the Korean tacos just seemed to pop more visually so I think it edged out the win. That being said, great picks all around and glad you got to try some hot mix! My dad cannot live without it lol Also if you guys wanna do a bonus round for patreon(if you guys go that route) or whatever, maybe add a late night food round. No points, just respect and vibes. I feel like that's a big part of the food culture in these cities that hasn't been explored yet on this show.
Great choices for some cheap eats! I love living in Chicago. We have so many amazing food here. Nice job ending the video at Dovetail! Love that place.
Awesome to see places that my family enjoys as well. For people who are not familiar to Chicago- it is very common to watch restaurant reviews and never have been to the establishment. This city is just that big. Often I will know of them but never have actually dined there myself ( I have lived here for 30 years. Yes, you young turds, I am old, I get it) . We live walking distance to Ghareeb. It is true, very interesting vibe between takeout and almost caferteria/diner style. I thought his trip actually made it look more sit down restaurant than in reality. That is not a good or bad thing, but it has a very large takeout presence and very casual sit in presence- so you can see it's cabbie background. Food is very, very good and very reasonably priced. As far as Del Seoul - it is several neighborhoods south of my family but my wife and I have always loved it. It is relatively new (7-10 years) but the tacos are insane. She and I agreed that if we ever left, this would be on our list of must have if we came for a visit. That says a lot for a large city with a good food scene. When he hit Ghareeb I thought he had lunch locked up then I saw the other guy enter Del Seoul- that's a tough loss. I dont throw out a lot of unsolicited advice but here I go. I live in the very far north end. That is where Ghareeb is. If you are here for 2-5 days - I would say bypass. The food is great and I love where I live but it's a big town and you have to factor in logistics when visiting. There is only so much you can do. Del Soul is what we consider reasonably near north end of the city. You could access with a lessor time commitment. Hope you enjoy, great city, great people- by pass the shootings and carjackings/murdering - it is overrated. I would enjoy answering any questions as long as they are reasonable.
Rob was ROBBED at lunch but Julien crushed otherwise. Losing on no phone is demoralizing. Condolences brother. One thing is that you have no incentive to dislike something. Everything is the best you’ve ever had. You have to build in some incentive to tell it like it is! (Best Korean tacos you’ve ever had in wrigleyville? Cmon! )
I grew up in the north side and Rob made super choices. I was surprised Ghareeb Nawaz didn't win that one. Chinatown is THE late night spot. I need to try Diner Grill now, those pancakes looked fire. If you guys are back in town and have a bigger budget try Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba in Lincoln Park - great spot to bring a deck of cards and good company for some appetizers and pitchers of sangria.
I eat at both Del Seoul and Gareeb Nawaz regularly and Rob got... I dont want to say robbed because it sounds weird but that's accurate. Like they're both good but Gareeb Nawaz should win on the diversity of Indian breads offered alone. Also, they didn't show it here, but Del Seoul has an excellent vegetarian japchae.
I'm obsessed with this series! My personal theory (as an Indian person) is that my region's food is packed in flavour, but just isn't that instagram-able. Ghareeb Nawaz looks like the real deal but it's an iykyk situation - those who haven't had real south asian food just won't know what that photograph is capturing. #sarinotsari
I feel Rob's secret theme for this episode was places Chicagoans love to eat when absolutely smashed. Though I was shocked when it the late night selection in Chinatown wasn't Triple Crown. I still give the edge to Julian because those tacos looked incredible and now I feel like I have to try them.
Bro you went to China town and didn't hit Hing Kee down the row! My favorite restaurant in the world! Their pork xiao long bao is unreal. Love this battle idea though. You guys are a solid duo with your food excursions.
I like how many start with "as a native Chicagoan"......but, as a native Chicagoan (SOUTH SIIIDDEE!) just go ham! There are so many places here that you'll BARELY get a miss. Mexican? South Side. Hands down. Halal? North side. Korean? South Side. And so forth and so forth. Just explore and you'll get more positives than negatives from what you hear on the news. Awesome job.
Hey y’all. Just pinning this comment to limit any potential spoilers. Thanks for watching - don’t forget to sub!
Happy Holidays to you & Mu, thanks for the Christmas Day episode!
Bro... that halal spot
Ghreeb nawaz
Use to be half the price on everything
Inflation and new management increased the prices
I remember when they first opened chicken briyani use to be $3 😳 and would feed 2
It's only $6 now which is still great
The real winners??...
He absolutely was! He went to places with true soul.
@@helloxjed there are better places than Pochos. Jus sayin.
No one ever goes south to restaurants. Not sure why but Hyde park, chi a town, bronzeville all have great eateries.
Few people know Chicago's dining scene as well as I do. Bold statement, but true. I love my city, but our late night scene isn't particularly strong. Our diner and breakfast spots are solid, but not great.
Chicago local here, ghareeb nawaz is amazing and literally kept me alive with there lunch specials $4 for a paratha and $6 for biryani!
Briyani was $3 when they first opened
It was crazy times lol
6buck is still 🔥
Without a doubt! The amount of biryani for the price is great, I'd have enough for lunch and dinner!
holy shit that butter chicken looked divine. Rob had a damn near perfect day from start to finish (dogs and all). Another great episode guys! Thanks!
As a chicago person currently living in the city, Rob should have won. The other meals were also solid, but Rob you captured Chicago really well.
For the no phone, asking a local for rec is prob best. Maybe adding local rec as a daily special is an option. Like, choose 1 out of 3 recs from locals you run into.
I have been advocating for a version of this rule… the issue is it could really tank someone’s run. But we’re thinking about it. - Rob
Rob took it. As a lifelong Chicagoan you went to places I’ve been going to since childhood. True Chicago staples

I moved here a few years ago, I’d take Aloha Eats over Del Seoul any day, hurt to see him so close
Del Seoul over Aloha Eats. It's not even close. Bigger menu and better food overall.
Shout out to Rob for being a cultured king, pronouncing Pakistan and Zabiha halal correctly
Seeing the holiday train should win it! Glad you got the hoodie, I was cold just watching you.
This video made me smile. Showed off how diverse Chicago is. I’m proud to be from Chicago. Keep doing what y’all doing.
The insta votes are all about the photo. Need to get the right framing and arrangement of the food. The food needs a lot of detail and color. Loving this series, y'all should come to d.c!
Agreed! I am unsure Rob had a single vegetable across his meals. Not a lot of visual interest, either.
Man, chicago looks so awesome. Loving the editing on this one too and seeing the juxtaposition between yalls emotions haha. This series is so awesome
Ghareeb is a foundational to the neighborhood! Tbh he could have gotten 3 dishes for the same price cause some are under $3 ~ so glad y’all came to Chicago and enjoyed delicious food! Hope y’all come again :-D
Hey Rob, you get brownie points for your Spanish! Great job !
I've been to most all those spots and Rob was Robbed. You had value, different types of food, and showed a few of our best food neighborhoods. Rob for the win
I live the exchange of gifts at the meetup at the end. That is also great. Both are from your journey like hey...i got you a souvenir from my day!
Rob got down & dirty hitting up some amazing spots, the China town one was super clutch I love that place & the whole area setup is dope
Come back for a Round 2 in Chicago! Summertime is street fest and patio season! Also check out places other than the North Side!
Rob - the game is simple. Your food has to be photogenic and colorful! (It’s going on IG after all). You always end up choosing some probably delicious but brown mess. But you play for the love of the game so gotta respect that.

I subscribed so fast, this was incredibly entertaining and you both have great camera presence. I hope your channel blows up soon!!
I am absolutely loving this whole series.
ROB is DOPE ASFFF love this channel so far keep it going fr DONT GIVR UP
SUCH A FAN of yall! Been waiting for Rob to come to Chicago!! Patiently waiting for the next episode....
This is one of the best shows on UA-cam right now! Keep it up
Ghareeb Nawaz is a special place and it was so fun seeing it here. Great video guys, just found your channel Rob from some shorts and so glad I did!
I've lived in Chicago for 44 years. You guys did good.
"From Devon?" No, dude, you were ON Devon.
That's a real deep cut there🤣
I love that you both went so north for breakfast. Loved my 9 years in Albany Park ❤
some of my favorite neighborhoods in this video. love devon and chinatown! in the end, more trendy food wins
As a fellow New Yorker now living in Chicago, Robert - you truly pulled up to all the spots that remind me of home, Queens. Heart is full.
What a great show! I’ve enjoyed all of the episodes. Can’t wait to see where you go next.
Isn’t Chicago awesome? My wife and I are foodies and we did a no repeat restaurant tour in 2024 trying a new location each time. We visited 40 restaurants this year and every one of them was fantastic. Enjoyed your show enjoying Chicago cuisine.
I feel like the photos don’t do the game justice!!! the mini-reviews and seeing the vibe of the neighborhood and restaurant are where it’s at
still love the concept tho - these are so fun and educational to watch 🤤
also, round 1 & round 2 Rob was robbed
You guys deserve more subs amazing production
Love how local and into the neighborhoods you went. Rob definitely did Chicago very well too.
I am always so SO EXCITED when i see feasting on 50 on my recommended!
I thought I would have to wait longer for this episode!!! Loved it
I'm a little offended you called my neighborhood the suburbs, but I'm also very happy with the way you guys showcased some great places in my city. Nice video
the texture of that butter chicken looked like heaven
As a native Chicagoan, I would say you both did a great job finding these places. I give it to Rob for Chi Cafe over Konbini.
All of the places you guys been too looked amazing. The Christmas train looked so cool 😎 congratulations Julian for the win. You guys both won with those amazing foods. 😎
Great start to a great run of content. Can't wait to see more!!!
This is a great show! Rob - you chose great spots and I know them all. Chicago is a great and overlooked food city.
Rob you were right in my neighborhood! I pass the Christmas tree in Lincoln Square every day i walk to and from the train. And you definitely won this with your choices. 😃
Absolutely love Konbini and Kanpai! Went there a lot when we lived down the street from their original location
Love this video! Nothing like Chicago!
Thanks for including my suggestion about no phone! Awesome video once again
Del Seoul IS THE BEST food in the city. Used to live 2 min walk from the place and get it for lunch or dinner like 4 times a week. Miss it so much.
Homies at the diner grill hooked it upp
This was so entertaining and informative. I want to try all of these places, and I'll start with those Korean tacos. They look delicious!!!. Plus, you guys did all that good eating for just $50. I love my city❤
I swore Rob was going to get it with the diner, I thought that was a winner. Heading to Wrigley was a good move with a lot of really good options around it, the curse was a blessing.

Del Seoul is AMAZING!!! For anyone thinking these reviews are just overall positive, I will say Del Seoul is sooooooo good!!
Delightful episode! Thank you!
Surprised a chicago dog wasn't showcased, such an insanely good, unique, and cheap eat with tons of legit places in chicago
I get where you are coming from but I enjoyed that they showcased other food it shows that there is a bunch of great other food in Chicago besides our typical pizza, hot dog, Italian beef, etc place that Chicago is known for because we have such an amazing selection of food and cultures
Nah every youtuber goes with the Chicago hot dog cliché, this was a refreshing change tbh
You never take the train from the top the blue line to Lincoln Park, you take the bus. You could have gotten there in like 20 minutes 😂
Omg my jaw dropped when I saw that he jumped on train!
My dad cannot live without it lol
Also if you guys wanna do a bonus round for patreon(if you guys go that route) or whatever, maybe add a late night food round. No points, just respect and vibes. I feel like that's a big part of the food culture in these cities that hasn't been explored yet on this show.
This format is refreshing. I’m from Chicago, missed the chance to vote. Please visit again.
Great choices for some cheap eats! I love living in Chicago. We have so many amazing food here. Nice job ending the video at Dovetail! Love that place.
I love miss & adore Chicago
Great Ep
Yo Ghareeb Nawaz is literally 2 blocks from my apartment and is INCREDIBLE for the price. They're open til like 1am most nights too.
Rob needs to get more followers on Instagram involved cos he should have won this round!!
The votes are anonymous! People are just voting based on price and photo.
@ oh wow, that’s cool! This is one of the best things on UA-cam
Husband and I are going to Chicago in April and I'm definitely putting these restaurants on our list of places to go!
Julian ate like a tourist, Rob ate like a native. Will be eating Ghareeb Nawaz later today
You brought back so many memories by hitting devon street the bhel at the local market there is wonderful
You were in my neighborhood! Wasn’t expecting that. Props to both of you for picking some really tasty spots.
Love these videos guys! Can't wait for you guys to come try this in Miami / South Florida

Chinatown always a good move! Chiu quon bakery, yummy yummy noodles, yao yao, qing xiang, even the good court has some good stuff 😋
Ruby’s is definitely a W!
Great video quality and food choices all around.
Please come to New Haven, CT for a competition!
Cmon! )
This was fun. I learned something and lived in Chicago proper my whole life
The different mentality's at the start was hilarious
I grew up in the north side and Rob made super choices. I was surprised Ghareeb Nawaz didn't win that one. Chinatown is THE late night spot. I need to try Diner Grill now, those pancakes looked fire. If you guys are back in town and have a bigger budget try Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba in Lincoln Park - great spot to bring a deck of cards and good company for some appetizers and pitchers of sangria.

Like they're both good but Gareeb Nawaz should win on the diversity of Indian breads offered alone.
Also, they didn't show it here, but Del Seoul has an excellent vegetarian japchae.
You both get respect points for all these picks
Really like this channel so far just wish videos got more attention and were edited more
I'm obsessed with this series!
Thanks for making Chicago look great. To bad you missed smoque while you were on irving park
Closes too early man! Added it to my list though
Hell's yeah Diner Grill is a great choice!!!
I like how many start with "as a native Chicagoan"......but, as a native Chicagoan (SOUTH SIIIDDEE!) just go ham! There are so many places here that you'll BARELY get a miss. Mexican? South Side.
