Fun fact Fred started with one cart outside my school. Bartram High School in the 90's and had a vision of what you see today on the corner of Chester Avenue. Great tour thanks for coming through. Sorry I missed y'all that's my neighboorhood
This is great, guys! Since you guys are so plugged in to the food scene, it's nice to get slices of historic spots while also checking out the next generation getting their first restaurant up and running. Can't wait for the next ep!
Nice episode! Awesome to see you shoot in Philly. Unfortunately the first place you went to closed in October. They have a new place in the works just called Honeysuckle targeted opening Feb 2025
Great episode. I think Rob was a deserving winner and I'm looking forward to trying out the spots he went to. That Ethiopian fried chicken looked fantastic.
John's Roast Pork is probably more to your taste - the pork is more heavily spiced as well as juicier. Also one of the best cheesesteaks in the city FWIW. Nan Zhou is literally one of my regular places for lunch ... and THAT is one of my orders, exactly. Also the intestine noodle soup :)
Pop’s off Broad on Oregon has the best water ice in the city, on a sweltering summer day nothing beats their lemon water ice with the bits of lemon in it, so delicious and refreshing John’s on 7th and Christian is great too
siddiq's is west philly is very good, too. huh, they've added a lot of other food since they first opened.... E: slightly out of range at 1.4 miles from honeysuckle provisions.
Just found y’all’s channel today and finished episode 1, and I automatically have another episode to watch! I really love these videos! Definitely going to subscribe to y’all’s individual channels! 🙏🏼❤️
Love it. I’m actually shocked that this was so close because of how Rob threw down in each category. How did he lose breakfast?! The breakfast sandwich is an iconic choice and a bomb breakfast sandwich…what’s better than that for breakfast?! Fried chicken for lunch & pizza for dinner? Feels like this should have been a blowout in favor of Rob. Zero shade to Julian- such a big fan and admirer of all his food picks generally. He’s introduced me to so much good dishes that are now staples! But, for me, Rob had this episode 💯 in each category. Best series on the internet! Congrats on another episode, fellas!
Very good show. All the food looked great. I would have gone with Rob on this but it was close. That pizza looked great. Julian, your breakfast was spot on.
Love this episode, this show feels like Jet Lag but for food and I am down for that. I am a college student in Philly and I feel you guys really showed off some good places and not just the typical touristy locations. The Daily Specials seem like a good way to showcase places that meet certain dietary restrictions
Rob! Your story 100% gave you the win. That was a genius move. I think the votes went the way I’d have gone, except for dinner. Those noodles and the cucumber. Man. Julian, you need to go tougher on Rob. Maybe I’m wrong, but the tourist trap one would have been tough.
Rob was after my heart with this one. Julian had good picks but Rob was eating how I eat here. Much love and respect to you both. Thanks for showing us off.
Great 2nd episode, and please tell me you guys ended with a drink at Human Robot, since it was in the background. I’m not from Philly, but I kinda want to be given how good their beer is!
Well deserved win for Rob, that Ethopian chicken looked so damn good. Honestly it all looked really good and I'm glad the neck and neck scores reflected that!
I feel like the price has to be more of a concideration. Rob had 2 meals under 10 bucks. That's gotta mean something right? Extra points for the cheaper meal in each category maybe? I don't know. This is a really fun show though. Keep it up!
I like the choices you guys make with the food. Definitely playing it safe at times, but I'd rather you guys pick food that "plays it safe" that you're are actually excited about eating than just trying to pick the most out there foods to gain points
Damn Rob, the maple sausage and egg biscuit looks crazy good. Julian the Thit Kho Hash look looks amazing. I’ve been wanting to go to that Roast Pork spot. That fried chicken is making my mouth water. Can’t go wrong with vodka pep and the peanut noodle. To make it crazier, you guys should definitely not be too easy 😎 congratulations Rob on the win. Can’t believe it was so close. Great episode. 💪🏽
Great choice on Human Robot at the end. Shout out to Ken and the crew! Not only the best lagers in the city, but some of the best in the country. The Polotmavy may be the perfect beer.
When you guys are back in Philly, stop by Saads and grab a chicken maroosh sandwich. One of the best sandwiches in Philly. And John's Water Ice is the "go to spot" .
As a true Philadelphian I really liked this jawn. I recognized the location of almost shot, even the cat on the street. I live a couple blocks from Honeysuckle Provisions but have only been there once cuz it's too spendy. Doro Bet is world-class delicious. You call this area little Africa. Africatown is actually further SW, around 55th and Chester although 45th & Baltimore Avenue has a half dozen Ethiopian restaurants within a couple blocks.
Nan Zhou has some other cold dishes that are pretty special and unique and fun to try. If you go back, try the cold shredded potatoes and the spicy pig ear
You were right THERE! You ALMOST got the Pastrami Reuben from Herschel's East Side Deli, which is my favorite red meat sandwich now-a-days. Better than the Angelo's cheesesteak. Better luck next time.
Omg wait also nan zhou is my favorite restaurant in town. The pork soy noodles are legit the first thing I get after being away from the city every time 😂
not sure if you have this on your list of daily specials but a fun low stakes one might be you have to ask a stranger what their fav place in the city is for lunch/dinner and you have to go where they suggest. Obviously this is dependent on a ton of factors and safety etc of approaching strangers but i feel like it could lead you guys to some interesting places
Loving it so far! One thing that sucks is the audience judges only by how good the dish looks. I know we cant taste it but it’s hard to decide whose food is better based off of just a picture.
Wild that honeysuckle provisions is temp closed just as I learned about it from this video haha looks like they are going to be a full restaurant concept and will move elsewhere.
From 48th & Baltimore I would have gone a few blocks over to Saad's Halal at 45th and Walnut for a lamb shwarma Maroosh way... nothing better in this city!
I vote for chaos in the queens episode. Of course, people still don't know about queens yet worldwide, so there's lots of classic spots to go to, but I want something crazy- if there's anyone on UA-cam who can pull that off, it's you guys.
As somebody with a life threatening nut allergy, it would be far more interesting if the entire restaurant had to be free of nuts or seafood or whatever. (Not just the selected dish) Then it might be a place I could go!
@MartinezandMu You haven't been insensitive at all! I just think it would be a more engaging show for everyone if those challenges were more realistic, especially when the other cards seem to be more difficult.
I really like the format, editing, and the personalities. I came to this from Martinez's channel and I appreciate you taking a risk with that young man's pizza place, and the risk of creating a new channel when you two are already established otherwise. You guys aren't playing it safe in terms of picking only popular internet visual foods. In terms how to change it up to keep it fresh? I am at a loss. Maybe a wild card if someone is ahead significantly they need to get two challenges for dinner? Picking places that you haven't been to at least once per episode would be good. I cannot recall if Mu did that, but Martinez obviously did with the pizza spot. I hope this takes off.
What Daily Specials should we add? List your ideas below 👇
😊 as a mom from Philly it's great to see the city and other fantastic food. Welcome to our town. Go Birds! 🏈

$10 or less meals

I feel like yall did my city justice! And neither of u guys got a cheesesteak, phillys food scene is so much more than that
I almost got a cheesesteak from Saad’s Halal, but I went for Doro Bet instead
@@MartinezandMu Chicken Maroosh from Saad's!
This is great, guys! Since you guys are so plugged in to the food scene, it's nice to get slices of historic spots while also checking out the next generation getting their first restaurant up and running. Can't wait for the next ep!
Thanks so much! We love Philly
Rob - please continue the random animal content! Scritches for the neighborhood cats is one of my favorite things too. ❤
Haha. I didn’t stumble across any animals in episode 3 unfortunately. Hopefully in episode 4 - filming Saturday! - Rob
Man this show slaps. Y'all are the coolest. Every single dish in this one was a banger
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Doro Bet and Honeysuckle Provisions -- top tier West Philly destinations. Great choices.
This is a great series, Philly is such an underrated city when it comes to food
I love this series, it’s like Jet lag but more purpose-oriented, and FOOD!
Thanks so much! We were very inspired by Jet Lag, they're the best
Nice episode! Awesome to see you shoot in Philly. Unfortunately the first place you went to closed in October. They have a new place in the works just called Honeysuckle targeted opening Feb 2025
“I love you” as he walks away from the cat lolll
Great episode. I think Rob was a deserving winner and I'm looking forward to trying out the spots he went to. That Ethiopian fried chicken looked fantastic.
I agree. - Rob
This is such a banger for a show. Such great production value. Can’t wait for more!

I am impressed by your picks as a Philadelphian. The Breakfast Den is one of my favorite spots! And it’s awesome that you gave West Philly some love.
Philly is a cool place, great show idea
This is so fun!! Love it guys, excited to see more eps
Thanks so much!
Instant classic! Live in philly and very cool blend of classic spots, new wave spots and spots I didn't even know
Thank you for giving the breakfast den some love. Unbeatable breakfast
Great show
Glad YT suggested it
Vicariously dining w you 🙏🏻
Been in Philly for 3 years...Robs first two choices was an instant win no cap
SO fun and heartwarming to see my city showcased like this :) amazing picks!
😊 as a mom from Philly this was great to see go Birds🏈

this was a lot of fun to watch. enjoyed the time
Another fantastic episode! I think it definitely deserved to be as close as it was cuz every meal was fire. Can't wait for the next one!
Thank you man!
I love the water ice, iced coffee and animal side missions
My favorite food show on UA-cam. Absolutely love these videos, keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much!
Awesome show idea, glad you loved Philly we love you too! Hype for the next episode
Definitely loving this series! The breakfast sandwich that Rob had deserved more votes. Great job fellas!
Agreed. Think I took a bad photo. But muber’s breakfast looked slamming too - Rob
Yea that HSP breakfast sandwich is S tier philly food
i think it really comes down to whats more photogenic and a breakfast sandwich doesnt look as good comparitively
Very good show. All the food looked great. I would have gone with Rob on this but it was close. That pizza looked great. Julian, your breakfast was spot on.

I said the same thing Wentley
Rob was after my heart with this one. Julian had good picks but Rob was eating how I eat here. Much love and respect to you both. Thanks for showing us off.
Rob, once you were frozen in west Philly I knew Doro Bet would be the lunch option. Can never go wrong!
I was very close to going to Black Dragon or Abyssinia. But Doro Bet was super solid
Finishing up at Human Robot Brewing is such a pro move. Impressed fellas
char looks sooo good i’ll def check it out next time in philly!
This was fantastic! I can’t wait for more
Char is literally 3 blocks from me... Going to go this weekend!
I go to reading terminal all the time it’s cool to see you checking out my city!😊
Loving this content such a good video!
Really fun episode! Nice win for Rob, who also came in way under budget if I tracked correctly.
We both came in pretty far under budget. Philly !
@@MartinezandMu If there's ever a tie breaker, you can give the win to whoever spent less.
So much fun to watch!
Char has GREAT pizza - don't sleep on the ice cream as well!
Any particular flavours you like? I’m excited to get to philly for the first time soon 🥹
@@SparkzMxzXZ They had a matcha oreo twist when I went!

Oh yeah. We had a few there.
Well deserved win for Rob, that Ethopian chicken looked so damn good. Honestly it all looked really good and I'm glad the neck and neck scores reflected that!

We have toyed with the idea of extra $ going towards the point total but it wouldn’t feel good to win on a technicality
Not a technicality takes skill@@MartinezandMu
Rob out here high key eating the best of Black Philly with Honeysuckle and Doro Bet.
A good spot for a breakfast sandwich - Small Oven Pastry Shop & Porco's Porchetteria in Point Breeze around 22nd & Washington.
Brisket sandwich Rachel style at Herschel's (Reading Terminal) rocks my mouth every time.
I like the choices you guys make with the food. Definitely playing it safe at times, but I'd rather you guys pick food that "plays it safe" that you're are actually excited about eating than just trying to pick the most out there foods to gain points
It’s a balance for sure. I think we took more risks in episode 3
@@MartinezandMu cant wait to watch! got any plans for non-versus content?
Like we collaborate? It’s been discussed. I think feasting on is 6 episodes and then we make a new show.
This is so such a cool show!
Also I feel like we got robbed of a love letter to philly from Rob around 15:05 haha
Haha. I was exhausted. That’s all I had to say
"there are worse places to be stuck than west philly" is not a phrase ive heard before lol. great vid love the places you went to

I’ve had great water ice in Manayunk and South Philly. Best pairing is water ice and a soft pretzel with mustard.
what a banger of an episode
Great work
Nan Zhou has some other cold dishes that are pretty special and unique and fun to try. If you go back, try the cold shredded potatoes and the spicy pig ear
That hash and roast pork breakfast/lunch combo is absolutely fierce. Gonna need that hash on my next stop through...
Love it!
If you got the pig ears at hand drawn noodles you woulda won. Good episode. Come back to Philly
I liked hearing the recs from the restaurant workers !!!!

yesss the breakfast den is my go to breakfast spot!! bahn me op la absolutely slaps
Coming back to say that vodka pepperoni looks amazing- and the guy is only 21?? I gotta get my ass over there!
