When I saw the thumbnail, I was thinking the turbo ford 300 that Pat built would be excellent! >500 HP!
This is exciting guys. This generation Ford truck is beautiful to look at, so this one's already a looker. With a lowered stance on the way - we know that's coming - is gonna look and perform top shelf. Great choice! Can't wait.👍
Binge on !! Here's the full build ua-cam.com/video/9mT01-VU4M8/v-deo.html
The split grill I agree is the best looking front end. Seems like there is a whole bunch of 78', 79' Ford's all over the web some round headlights some squared, but the "Cleveland" nose I believe it's called in 78/79 is still cool looking ya can't beat the split grill with round lights in my opinion...
Man thats one beautiful 74 F100.
These are probably my favorite truck tech hosts they had great chemistry and they were both excellent techs, awesome truck
I think that truck was awesome as they bought it. I think they did a wonderful job keeping it looking great for all those years.
Sacrilege! there is no excuse to desecrate this gem of history (even though it is a Ford).
It should have a 360/390.
Funny I just watched the FULL BUILD video on this truck yesterday that yall posted 5months ago
Sad that a survivor truck in mint condition gets messed with! Why not get a truck that needs restoration?
That's what I was thinking!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I LOVE IT!!! A TOTALLY AWSOME CANYON CARVER AND DAILY DRIVER.
Very nice truck. I'm also glad that Truck Tech could find a slot for Jeremy. Hard to find a good gig when you're a "little person".
What about a 3.5 eco boost ??? Throw on some coil overs and have duty sway bars. Add pwr brakes??? P zero tires ??
Wow! You guys dug deep in the past Pat even had hair.
We had 1 with a 460 in it, shook the house when we started it up
nice video
Thanks
Nice truck
Get you some of that Richard Rawlings 😂😂😂
Needs a 7.3 Godzilla with a Kenne Bell or Magnuson sitting on top.
@@mikec9112 it's a truck and a truck need's a big block
make jokes about carbs but people who go from carbs to EFI come back to carbs especially when people have issues with aftermarket EFI kits 😁
You're right kinda.
I built a 500hp cleveland. Put an efi on it. Then went back to my custom tuned carb for a couple years. Then went back to EFI. Because I got tired of changing jets every season.
On a hot motor you can't run the same jets at 95-100 degrees as you do at 60-70 degrees. And those jets wont work at 20-40 degrees. So I had a spring/fall tune, summer tune and winter tune. Got tired of all that. Now the efi does it automatically. I never had any issues with the efi. It just didn't have the same off idle punch as the carb. I just didn't give it enough time. Now it makes more power with the efi.
I subbed just to see what this truck turns into!!
I would so take you on a two track with that truck 🙈
😂😂
My dad bought a new 73 F350 and I hated it. On the way home from the dealer, the brake lines sprung a leak on the highway. It was gutless with awful gas mileage.
A 351W 4V putting down 146 whp...wow. This girl needs a Coyote and a Tremec.
i think that would modernize it too much, you could bore and stroke the engine and put a shift kit in the transmission, especially if you are going for the stock look
@@everettgrover9459 i think it has bigger problems if it only makes 146hp
I had one just like that, but it was metalic green. Real rust bucket tho.
Was there any tire tread left on the truck at the end
If you're spinning you ain't winning!!!
Just started diving into my 75. Excited for this for sure
Sad that they took a clean stock F100 and ruined it. Would've been better to find one that wasn't as clean and original for track purpose. Seriously devalued a perfect original truck.
I was thinking the same thing :/
💯
Real question is why sell a perfectly restored truck.
I got a super cab f250 390 fe
Are we going to talk about how the air cleaner says 351 on it and the truck is a 74 the 351 m did not.Come in those trucks until 77 before that it was the 360 or the 390 fe
It's a 351W
How much did you guys pay for it ?
Does Jeremy have a booster seat?
I believe they cost a lot more than c10s is less of them I don't know maybe they didn't last as long I don't know less sought after... I'd love a 1971 like my dad's he had a short bed regular cab four-wheel drive 390 FE manual trans I think I had a granny one two three four speed not sure what training maybe a T18 or 19
I thought they already published this episode?
Definitely needs a built 351w.
Exactly mate
Or even a custom home made 6.8L DOHC 40V Triton V10 provided with 4 sets of 4.6L 4V Cobra heads with some cutting and welding as well and porting and polishing the modified Cobra heads, have some custom camshafts either from Lunati or Comp cams, and a custom home made intake manifold and man you have you're self a 6.8L DOHC 40V Triton V10 (that's based off either the 6.8L SOHC 2V or 3V Triton V10) that'll make well over 500 HP NA with homemade beefed up factory parts and it'll sound narly as hell.
@@CJColvin no mod clunker motors. Hate them . Every last one
@@rickeydriskill1096 Alrighty, what about the 7.3L Godzilla V8 or even the 6.2L SOHC 2V BOSS V8.
@@CJColvin the 7.3 would be great. But for me nothing with more than one cam. We own a 2V and I hate it and it doesn't have the issues of the 3v and 4v. Only reason we still own it is cause its payed for. Nothing but issues with every version
Man have body fillers changed. I remember when a golf ball of filler required a 2” worm of hardener,
PUT 400 CI WINDSOR OR 400 M WITH HEADS 10.5 COMP AND LARGE CAM OR TURBO
He flat spotted the tires on you before your Run bro.! Now Get Ugly-Truck out there !!
Simple answer... it takes a hollywood budget.
Takes MONEY
Nice to see 48 year old ford, and not a typical chevy.
140 rwhp. That's probably about 200 at the flywheel. Considering it probably has a C6 witch is heavy to turn & it has a 9 inch witch is also hard to turn it might be a bit more? 220 at the flywheel. Maybey.
I know the drivetrain well. It loses about 75 hp in the drivetrain. 75 is the old rule of thumb for these old ford drive trains, C6 and FMX. The C4 is slightly better.
351 Cleveland poked and stroked to a 427.
🇰🇿🖐
There a special place in hell for doing whats been done to bastardize such a well restored classic
People like to put car suspension on a pickup. Why not use a modern Ford F-150 frame and suspension so it can tow and drive like a modern real truck.
Maybe use a modern ford lightning running gear
now now
Why not get a new Ford pick up and leave the simple proud dependable masterpiece out of it! Lol sorry have a 76 daily and after all these years she's ready to rock every morning. Trucks of this era are very special machines that will be gone some day. Breaks my heart.
A Ford 460 sb crate engine, that will do it👍

This truck it's condition is much like a museum piece....it is fine!
Um, isn’t this a video you already posted?
351w in a 74? I thought they were the 351m
Yes you are correct but the 74s actually came stock with ether a 360 or 390 fe 77 and on came with a 351 m or a 400
This is not a new project it has LT IN it. Please show something that is Please

This Truck is NOT original!, 351W was not availible in trucks during these years, It's a easy swap though esp. if you have a 302 already, I had a 1976 F100 and swapped out the 390 C6 with a 351W AOD to try for better gas mileage, Nowhere near the power and used Damn near as much Gas!🙁
Dr, dirpy dir.
I bought a truck like that she’s a Beauty
I’m 13
Can't watch this truck get ruined. Should have picked something else.
You are drifting kind of thing doing without putting on the belts 🤔😋
This episode is ancient
another boat anchor build
You said I could care less. What you really mean is I couldn't care less. If you say I could care less, that means you do care. For what it's worth.
As much as i want to like this, its just wrong to change such an original truck. Many others out there that would have provided even more content. Huge fail imo.
UA-cam RERUNS?
Put it on a track is just stupid.
Come on, get real.
LS swap it. Lol
No Coyote swap it.
Great show......fantastic content....hosts very knowledgeable but it has gotten to a point when I ask.... can I watch any thing on You tube or anywhere can you please stop using the work awesome.......the most over used word in our language......and I am sure more folks are very tired of it.
What a noob. Presses the break in a turn 🤦♂️
What a nonsens to drive with a truck on a race track ... :-(
You put a coyote in it you should be DELETED!! Keep that Windsor should be kept and made into a Clevor engine!! They make the heads for it and it will be better than them POS coyote engines!
It is a 351 m not windsor so it is already a clev just has a small block bell housing
