    This is one of the builds you guys have done that I actually like and that was actually done right for what it is. Most of your project, not just yours but the other Powernation builds also I'm usually screaming "Hey while your there hit that with some sandpaper or atleast a wire brush and some rubbing alcohol and hit that with some spray paint, it literally takes 10 minutes for Spray paint to dry and it's a cheap fix, not even a "home builder" is going to bolt up a brand new part to something that looks like it was underwater for 5 years. clean it up and paint it!" but this one was done right for what it is.

    lol.... I love how PN starts a project as "something you can do in your garage" and end-up with a complete re-wire, new motor, complete re-paint and a bunch of new body parts.

      @@tristannivens3269 lots of spray paint. Shake your cans up really good, wetsand every coat and spray it on thin. Then add your clearcoat if you want. If you take your time, it'll look just as good or better than a spray booth job. I spray painted an '87 iroc Camaro for someone and it looks amazing even now six years later. It turns heads and costed about a hundred bucks.

    • @TheREALOC1972
      @TheREALOC1972 2 роки тому

      Although I agree with the frame part because I would have done it however this was just to show people you could have a cool classic daily driver truck for not much money, what they did with it is equivelant to of about what we would cost 5-6k. They probally paid $800-$1000 for the truck, the engine was probally $800-$1000, the rebuild kit was around $200, the stuff to do the body was another $500-$700 the paint would have been another $400-500, the wheels were $100 from the boneyard plus the time to sanblast them and repaint them, the new tires, headlights and tailights were another $500 the new suspenson stuff was another $500 plus the seat cover. If they would have redone the frame they would have more than likely had to buy a new wire harnass plus spent all the extra money for the new parts and paints they needed for the frame. This wasn't a build like that, this was stuff you can do easily in your own garage and have a nice truck at a reasonable price.

    Why would you get rid of the 6 lug rotors? They are factory on heavy half ton 2wd. Swap out the rear to 4wd axles. Then you can use the modern 16", 17", 18" 6 lug rims. I have a set of 2006 17" steel wheels on my 88 1500 and they look good.

      It depends on the manufacturer. I put a set of EBC rotors on my car and everyone said they were backwards. I pointed out they were stamped L & R from the factory and they were installed as per the manufacturer. Some manufacturers don't even mark Left and right because it doesn't matter. I wish I could find the video (saw it several years ago) where a test was done to determine if one direction was better than the other on a variety of manufacturers and there was very little difference. In reality, the only time it actually matters is when you are getting into the extreme high performance setups where you are paying $4K or more for full race brake systems. The cuts, dimples, and drilled holes are very specific to a scientific level.
