This was really enlightening. With all the horror stories you hear on game development, it's really impressive to see all of this. I'm sure figuring out the optimal way to make it all work was incredibly hard, but it sure paid off.
Kudos to capcom making dmc5 a technical marvel. I'm amazed on to the level of detail it has when I played it on ps4 pro. And to mention it was 4k HDR too. Just seeing how well it runs even on base ps4 is impressive. Capcom really does everything to make everything better just by taking some textures away.
I'd like to clarify that Dante hanging out in the last mission is canon, because, well, the cutscene shows that he just sorta lies down and decides to watch the fight, so yeah. You can actually spot him having a nice day, watching you beating the shit out of your dad
So glad someone finally made this video, just strengthens my love for this game tbh! Thanks man!! (also I think the pronunciation for 'Qlipoth' is 'kly-foTT' rather than 'kly-foTH', within DMC5 at least haha)
I always loved how well this game runs even on my laptop and now I've gained a whole new level of appreciation for how much effort the devs put into optimizing this game.
Good to see well made informative content for the series, it's a rarity in a sea of basic video essays. Also kinda amazing how removing off-screen models like faces helps performance, as well as the teleporting, makes the framing of the cutscenes far more appreciable.
ah yes, i certainly do love watching this kinds of contents in the middle of the night- jokes aside, this was very interesting to watch and i like how professional you are at your stuff, nice going man.
As a player that has a controller with joystick drag on it, I knew half the stuff on this video because of the many times my camera suddenly do a close up to see the Sparda's all lineage of asses instead of the enemies, or having a bird's eye view of the sparda's lineage perfect hair, including Dante, even without washing it over a month jokes aside, I was looking for tips for camera manipulation in DMC and found this video
This game is one of my go too experiences when playing games in stereoscopic 3D using the abandoned Nvidia 3Dvision hardware and the 3dmigoto mod which corrects things completely in Stereo. It's incredible, and Every time I do I'm disappointed that the entire gaming industry just ignored what I feel was the actual next step for video games, not ray tracing ... Sometimes playing in 3D gives you glimpses behind the curtain like elements in the game that are actually 2d assets but caocom did incredible work here to create their illusion and I had no idea about these shortcuts. Great video man.
Since watching more carefully the DMC3 cutscenes I noticed how character positions always change in order to make a good cutscene, I really like how they do, I even try to do that in the university when I have to make a short movie or a videoclip because at some way it feels good when you're not trying to complicate yourself
You cant blame companies who make games were they reuse assets for previous gen consoles and pcs. This kind of shit shows how much love they have for the low end pc and console players.

Holy shit, I forgot how beautiful Devil May Cry 5 is and it’s work of levels I may see enemies but honestly if I had time to be up high in the highest building, I’d admire the view of the maps and stuff
could you use the out of bounds camera to view the dr faust cutscene from a static angle? I wanna see what that looks like from an unintended perspective lmao
Camera work in games is a lot more complex than real ones. Cutscenes especially are just as professional of a job as any movie director. Assets must be modular enough to be switched on/off at will. They have a set amount of memory limit that they must adhere to at all times.
The creators really went above and beyond with DMC5. Why even both going through such detail with those Qliphoth roots and that giant heart/artery or whatever when it'd never be seen normally? Or was it intentionally a detailed easter egg for us nerds who would boundary break the game eventually?
Dont have a problem with stuff being gross and disgusting, but this engine seriously lack the vibrant colors and lighting of the previous game, even Dante's coat kinda look like shit in this installment
vergil, sliding out of the floor at the mere mention of nero's arm: yeah imma need dat
PFFFF
i like to think it’s canon he can just do that
Nero fighting vergil while Dante just lying there chilling in the background is the most character accurate thing
Your ability to create consistent professional-level content is astounding. Keep up the great work.
Glad you enjoy it!

4:15 So if you walk enough outside the map, you end up on DMC2.
Oh no…?………
Great to see “behind the curtain”. Fantastic video overall 🙌
Great stuff. RE 4 is a game known for having lots of stuff hidden from the camera and I always wondered if the same happened with DMC games
Real, sempre tive curiosidade com o dmc 3
Pretty cool to see stuff i've been experimenting on from another perspective.
I love the menus in DMC5, the developer said that they were going to include more scenes, but didn't have time and budget...
I'd like to clarify that Dante hanging out in the last mission is canon, because, well, the cutscene shows that he just sorta lies down and decides to watch the fight, so yeah.
You can actually spot him having a nice day, watching you beating the shit out of your dad
8:56 Fun Fact, this one is actually visible in game if you pay attention before the camera pans away from Vergil in the cutscene
Vergil sliding out of the floor is canon actually
Imagine being a demon and your only purpose is to spawn in a cutscene at a certain point only to die later on
So glad someone finally made this video, just strengthens my love for this game tbh! Thanks man!! (also I think the pronunciation for 'Qlipoth' is 'kly-foTT' rather than 'kly-foTH', within DMC5 at least haha)
Awesome video, it was a truly professional work of art. I'm looking forward to the next one!

Reframework's Freecam looked so goofy in cutscenes that I didn't even bother. Glad to see people interested in it though.
Woo, awesome video. I miss playing DMC 5. These things just show how much love and care the developers did to make the game run as good as it is.
DMC devs really did a good job in these things. I hope they make DMC6 the best DMC game!!

Great video, very interesting how the developers uses these tricks to keep the game running nice
Very educational, thank you so much for this video, i love seeing inside of capcom’s masterpieces.
Bro did his Secret Healing Technique 9:57
As an indie dev in progress, this is insanely insightful, thank you!
I could watch 10 hours of this type of stuff
these things are especially amazing for indie game devs to take inspiration

Be careful of continuity errors if you do that
No way right after i finish all episodes in DMC5 right now & open youtube seeing this is kinda hilarious
Interesting stuff for sure ! Well done Cosmic.
I am the storm that is aproaching sliding out of thr gro-und
I dont comment usually, but this video deserved one
Thank you! If you liked this one, check out our latest video on Cut Content of Devil May Cry series!

9:54 Nero’s had enough of Urizen and decided to just ignore him

1:53 no mod for going inside the shower? awww men
I remember having a camera glitch once and discovering that Nidhogg is below the terrain in Mission 2. Why, I have no idea.
Great video!!
1:26 without what? taxing? Vergil love it.
It's just like Capcom actually tried as much as possible to create a game this smooth. It feels like not everyone does that.

I may see enemies but honestly if I had time to be up high in the highest building, I’d admire the view of the maps and stuff
This is really cool
So Nico's van functions the same way as Geryon in DMC3, got it.
This is what you called "ART".
Would’ve been funnier if it turned the camera for some of the scenes was literally mounted to Nico’s van

Awesome 🔥
Great video
I was hoping theyd hide dante out of view every level

when developer actually optimizing their game and not heavily reliant on upscaling, this is why I love japanese game and the people in it...
The blood flowing animation in the cliphoth roots disappear when you go near them , but how does it save resources of ur hardware?
Damn good stuff
I downloaded a few mods and it caused my camera to go underground on mission one and it showed the nidhog boss.
The creators really went above and beyond with DMC5. Why even both going through such detail with those Qliphoth roots and that giant heart/artery or whatever when it'd never be seen normally? Or was it intentionally a detailed easter egg for us nerds who would boundary break the game eventually?
This is amazing
100% earned my sub.
T Pose Never Get Old
Interesting and exciting, just what I like
Amazing
8:19 hear me out why tf did they add them like they wouldn't be visible ingame but
This goofy shots behind the scenes are better than Marvel's and DC's cgi.
is there any other instances of the t pose being left in? its so jarring
Not that we are aware of! There's some other funky stuff, tho
ok now i understand how bugs encounter in some games lol
Analysis like this is are of course very interesting, but it destroys a part of my brain that lets me believe everything I see on screen is "real".
the server has a youtube channel?
For a long time!
so thats why I can still play with my potato laptop. the optimization is indeed great.
Holy, you're underrated AF
Thank you!
How can we do this on ps5?
Sadly, you can't, this is available on the PC version through modding only
Pov your a god
Er, um, well...
If you angled the camera at Lady in the shower, what will you see? 😶😶😶😶😶😶😶😶
Yeah, I'm a visual learner

DMC5 looks so gross and disgusting. I hate the RE engine art style.
