I really needed to know how would the sections hold up against the version 1 and you really did a Great job not only explaining but also showing the locks!
For me as I ride the motorcycle This is perfect because it fits inside the TopCase and this way I don't have to bother putting on a backpack on purpose to carry the pole. So 40 ish cms is Great!

I recently got this pole, because it was sold as a "no-bend" extended pole (they said selfie stick, but I don't like that phrase!).
Guess what - it bends! Yes it's a big improvement over version 1, I sent V1 back because it was far too bendy for what I needed an extended pole for.
I like the look of the V2, but I still be a wee bit dubious about fully extending it, the use of the smaller sections will be on a shot-by-shot basis, at least during an initial use
Yeah it definitely bends as I showed in the video - I didn’t read anywhere about the no bend - maybe they changed the wording. I’m using it with the X2 and it feels very secure at full length but as you say always good to be cautious.

On the other hand, it still pulls a lot, even for a One X2 ... it's better than the old one, but we can still see the bottom of the pole, so not yet rigid enough.
I wonder if the new TELESIN 2.70m pole would not be more rigid with 30cm less than the one tested ... that's not much, but if it remains straight, the 30cm are negligible in use.
If you do have some shots where the pole shows you can just rotate the camera to hide the pole in the stitch line, I didn’t see this show up but then I framed my shots very wide. Yes I saw there is a 2.7m version that maybe more rigid as you say and yes I agree 30cm makes no difference in 360 - thanks for the comment
Hi! You said at the beginning that the offset gopro finger mount isn't good for 360 but at the end you seem to confirm the opposite. Do you set another mount? With the regular, is it really noticeable? Thank you for your answers.

Just checked again as I saw some had ordered from the US - you have to go to more options on the 2.7m version and it’s there. Out of interest can you see if my link takes you to that page please as it’s impossible for me to try it as it goes to uk? Thanks
I'm currently using a cheap Ali Express 2.9m pole with my X3 and would like to upgrade but I keep hearing comments about knocking and rattling with both the Telesin 3m AND the upgraded Insta 3m poles - for me this is an important factor so my question is which pole would you choose if the sound aspect was important?
Can you still javelin throw using that stick?
It's a pity I can't unlock it to use it.

You will see the handle at certain angles - a tip here is to rotate the stick so that the bend gets hidden in the stitch line.

Great video Rich, very useful. Just received my extended stick today and am unable to open it completely, I can hear inside the other small sections moving up and down but nowhere to be found? do you have specific tips please? thanks a lot
I found attaching the camera helped me pull out the first section. I haven’t had that though - maybe it’s come detached- I would contact them if you can’t open it as it should be easy once that first section is out
You can unscrew the base which has a spot for screwing in another 1/4 inch and screw it into the thread at the top to give you a grip to pull out the sections. works great for me.
Great review, as always. I'm looking to buy this telesin (not the newest version though as it has the gopro mount), and wonder if you have an opinion whether it stands the test of time? Does it still work well after some months of usage?

I use my 360 camera mostly for real estate photos so haven't needed an extended stick yet but may get one just to have it. I have tried a 16' extended painting pole for fun but while it would work for a photo, there's a lot of bouncing in a video. You don't get bouncing in a video with this stick?
Extended selfie sticks are great for fake drone photos and videos of real estate. If you are holding it and walking forwards or you do a rise up from the floor you shouldn’t get any bounce. The bounce usually occurs when you attach it to something rather than move with it if you know what I mean. I would consider the Insta360 extended stick as I think this is the best. But it is more expensive. Hope this helps.
I'm trying to get my head around how the cameras don't see the stick?
The two lenses can’t see what is directly below the camera as it is the cameras blind spot. The same goes for anything directly next to the cameras body edge known as the stitch line. The images from the two lenses are stitched together in the app and the app tries to make the stitch line between the two images as smooth as possible to create one complete image. This is why you should never place anything near to the stitchline as you risk it being cut off in the final image.

Telesin 3m - the insta360 stick is slightly longer than the original telesin stick but identical other than that so has all the same problems as the telesin version one

This or the insta360 updated extended stick. Because the max is a bit heavier you just have to rotate the stick to hide the bend in the stitch line
any idea how to get the thing unscrewed? I just opened mine, and now one of the sections seems stuck. My hands are exhausted trying to turn it.
if you rest the handle on your foot you can twist it and push it into your foot at the same time - failing that I’d contact telesin

Based on your review I was thinking about about buying this Version 2 stick. However, the customer reviews on Amazon are pretty bad. Many people are reporting that this pole is flimsy. The plastic insert at the tip of the pole is only secured by friction and eventually it loosens up. Then it starts to free spin. A free spinning 360 camera is no good as you want to align the stitching plane with the bend of the stick to make it invisible. You have to use gaffer's tape to get it to stay steady. That is ridiculous for a $46 pole.
It isn’t flimsy, version 1 is flimsy, but I haven’t had it long enough to know if it loosens. I’m not sure what insert you mean - version one has a bung insert but not version 2. It comes with a year warranty I’m sure so you’d be able to return it.
Will it be possible to review the new 2022 version 1.2m and 3m TELESIN Carbon Fiber Selfie Sticks?

U could look out for 🎤 microphone boom poles if they're on discount. But I think they are not as compact when retracted for storing or carrying about. 🙄
Hello mate!!! I have a question for u pls. I own the version 1 of this selfie stick and I used my Insta360 one X2 for it. Last weekend I was boating and fishing with my family and when I cast my one x2 to start filming the selfie stick broke to half causing my camera to plummeted to the water leaving me in my hand half of the selfie stick. We tried to turned around for my camera but it started sinking under the water before I was able to save it (I know super sad).... my question is, do you think I can get a refund from telesin since it’s obviously a product failure? I mean I have a care warrantee for my One X2 and tried contacting insta30 right away, unfortunately warranty doesn’t cover replacing new unit for that case they said :(

That’s terrible sorry to hear that. It’s tricky as everyone will deny liability. I assume you have the other half of the selfie stick to prove it was a product failure - if so I’m sure if you send it to them and ask nicely they may give you some compensation towards the camera but I’m not sure to be honest. If you paid on credit card you are insured for the first 90 days or more so worth checking that out as well. Good luck and I hope you get a positive result.

I see there are 2.7m and 3m versions - does the 30cm really make much difference at that length when using a 360 cam?
No the length makes no difference but the pole flex and strength are very different - the 2.7 is version one and the 3m version 2.

@@EatSleep360 I bought the upgraded 2.7m, it was dearer than the original, but cheaper than the 3m. Watching this video - that 3m looks just like my 2.7m with the wider sections and less bend. I'm about to load up my motorcycle for a 3.5 week long trip, so I'll take my One R and selfie stick for some 'follow me' drone footage without needing to bring a drone - hopefully this goes well.

Is version one the insta360 brand selfie stick? And version two the telesin stick?
No instas stick is separate but is identical to the telesin version one except a bit longer. Telesin version two is the best and you can buy it at 2.7 and 3m

It’s not designed to go underwater but if you dried it out afterwards I’m sure it would be ok. 3 metres underwater would be hard to move though.
hello , does anybody else experience condensation inside lenses on insta one r ? anytime , no mater of season , warm or cold , in few minutes of shoting a video , condensation apear inside of lenses .
I haven’t but a lot of people have mentioned it on the insta Facebook group - put a post up and tag insta360 and also message them about it directly

Ahhh, this seems a better proposition than V1, but it's still not as good as the new Insta360 extended stick, wouldn't you agree? You know, the one they sent to all the UA-camrs but didn't bother to make enough to sell? :) More expensive, but form what I've seen, better quality, less "bendy", and contracts to a smaller size. Would you agree? Also, any idea when it is coming? Insta reckon they have no idea themselves :)
Yes the new insta stick is better but really expensive- I did a comparison here ua-cam.com/video/MEbnXc5SwF0/v-deo.html you could try Aliexpress they may have stock. Instas stock levels for accessories are terrible, they struggle to keep up with demand.

I originally ordered my One X2 from Insta, then cancelled and bought locally. Just got it yesterday - what a brilliant camera.

where is the video how to get rid of the fragments of the thicker selfie stick in the hand?
There isn’t a separate video but I’ve included it in some of my tip videos - it’s simple all you do is rotate the pole and camera so that the bend and handle are hidden in the stitch line. So If you are doing a rising shot with the camera and pole in front of you the lenses would be facing left and right.
@@EatSleep360 thanks a lot! I had the GoPro 360 camera and the Manfrotto selfie stick that worked brilliantly. But now with the insta360 I can’t use the Manfrotto rod anymore, seeing a lot of fragments of the stick. I think it’s because of the slightly thinner size of the insta 360 one x2. I think this could be corrected with software of the stitching, but unfortunately it isn’t possible in the insta app as they offer a few options for certain lense covers and underwater housings. Anyway, I bought the telesin version 2 now to give it a try.

Hopeless. I used it once and gave it to the seller. Long folding and unfolding time. If it is not folded exactly, it may slide out by itself and hit the camera on the ground. It is stiff and light but it is not enough.
