Your car ran beautifully. Just wish you everything else worked! Would have been nice to get track times. Tires and brakes made a world of a difference. This thing is a weapon
Short shift plate and bushing is a night and day difference, and super easy to install; I used Cody/StreetInspired's guide step-by-step. I was worried I'd have to prop up the transmission after taking off the transmission brace, but I ended up not have to. Just make sure to have a breaker bar and extension ready to get the transmission brace off, I think the biggest bolts are torqued to 100+ ft/lbs, and my impact drill couldn't get it off. edit: Might also want to grab the STI/Group N transmission mounts, and whiteline positive shift kit bushings at the same time, because you can do all of them at the same time.
I should get those extra parts for sure. I want to do the plate now big time. I knew I should do it but I was like "eh I'll get to it". After feeling Cheweys car...damn I'll get it done soon.
@HeavyMetalWRX I did the cobb shift plate this last Sunday I definitely recommend if you like super short throws id say it's 2in between gears also did the group n trans mount an positive shift bushing at same time
Nice to see you on a road course and not drag racing. So much more fun in my opinion. Ive been using the advan V601's as my daily/track day tire and they are fantastic. No warm up laps they are good right away and have stiff sidewalls. Advans have been great on track compared to other tires ive used, try them out for your next set of tires if you haven't already.
Its expensive and difficult to go to the track all the time. Track days are $250-$400 around me and only a few of them during the year. Drag racing is easy and there is still compelling data to be compiled against other cars. When on the track I don't get to do a whole lot of testing against others because the massive skill gap and money gap( some people have literally dedicated cars with $100k into them). I think it's good to have variety. Just wait till next year , I'll be going off-road!
Perrin short shifter plate is fantastic with a group n transmission mount, shift stop and bushing makes the shifter feel great. Awesome footage per usual!
It's definitely worth it so you can see how bad of a driver you really are 🤣. I've learned so much on the track...paint hing being I am no where near brave enough to push it the limits.
Man your car sounds SICK and both look amazing! Mine is blue like Joseph's and I like his grille with bar, but I also do love how yours looks too. That looked like an awesome track day
Yo nice track day man. I too have the complete Billetworkz short shifter kit and it is fantastic. One of the best mods I’ve done. Oh and thanks because now I’m convinced i need EBC yellows now. 😂 the car looked great!
I know dude, the brakes are a night and day difference. I'm sure the rotors might wear a bit more but for the long run as a non race car it should be fine.
That 360 footage is super cool. Do we know how the EBC Yellow pads treat the stock rotors? Both as track use and street use. Will they eat up the rotors fast or do the pads themselves take most the wear? Great job as always.
Chances are in consistent aggressive driving there might be more wear. I'd say what for a casual driver it shouldn't really cause that much if an issue but if keep an eye on your rotors just in case.
Awesome vid! Car sounds good. Why run E85 if not much gain over E35/40.? I’m surprised the OEM clutch is holding up. I can also attest to the EBC Yellow, and def the next upgrade on mine.
I did it for ease of use. I don't have to worry about mixing different ethanol percentage cans for race day. For my daily I am still running my blend map because the gas mileage is way better. For track days I can just load up on E and bring a few gallons of E in a jug and not have to worry about mixing.
Hey there! Thank you for the support. I have considered it but I haven't really pushed the car AS hard. I think next year if I'm still doing track days I will start getting track insurance. It's not too expensive( usually 200-300) and is a nice peace of mind.
I cant even do Virtual Dyno on mine anymore, it doesnt know how to handle the gearing ratio of the STI trans with the logs lol. It freaks out and says I have anywhere from 500-700 horsepower 🤣🤣
I have been running 6500rpm redline. Really not much to say about it. It's nice to ring out the gears a bit longer. I don't feel any loss of power up there either. Not if the tunes are keeping almost 85-90% at 6500 redline which is pretty good. Some tuners are even going to 7k but I don't have much experience with that.
@@Yerrrrrrrr_Mom yes, yellows especially. They squeal and are extremely dusty but that's kind of the tradeoff. You could try ebc reds for street , less noise and less dust.
AMAZING. Thank you again so much for helping 🤘🤘Car went in the direction I pointed for the most part. The tires were 10x better and so were the brakes. I would add a bit of camber to the front. Besides that it was great. The limits were raised quite a bit and I ran out of steam before the car did.
@@HeavyMetalWRX I don’t think you’d need more camber I think you need some toe adjusting. With toe adjusting you can get better turning response from the car.
@@HeavyMetalWRXwow that’s brutal! That was my concern with doing track days because all of our tracks out here in SoCal are in very hot places. I have a Perrin oil cooler waiting to be installed. Which one do you plan to get?
Welcome, friend! At this time I don't have a LSD installed planned separately. I will be getting a STi transmission in the future though and that does have LSDs front and rear.
I started tracking my 2023 WRX last weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Check my page, I have good video. I also have a bunch of Perrin Parts- I will throw my stock brakes in the trash now with confidence that aftermarket are superior. Im going EBC pads also for now, but the Big Brake kit is on my wishlist. Keep on Rockin!

Thanks man, I appreciate the video clip 🤘. Now we gotta get your car in the track.
Another track day in the books. Have you done any high performance driving with your WRX ?
I must say the VB sounds frigging mean.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Shifter is definitely top of my list now!
Great vid, every time gets better!
Thank you!
Awesome! I'm totally ordering some EBCs as I finally pushed mine enough this week to feel how crappy they are. Brake fade is friggin scary.
It really is. It's also the bite and grip not being there for an emergency stop. That's what scares me tbh.
That was awesome! Love the 360 angle, hope to get my VB to a track someday

You got the fastest WRX if it shows 700 whp 🤣🤣
Are you still running the stock 6k rev limit or did you raise it with your tune? If so, what are your impressions/thoughts?

You need a 10 hz gps for track addict to work properly. Phone gps is only 1 hz
So here's the issue with that. Last year my track addict worked perfectly.
these brakes.. just pads, track pads, or calipers too?
It's just EBC yellow pads to replace the one pads. This is still with the one 2 pot calipers and OEM rotors. It's still a massive upgrade.
I’m down for any improvement on the stock brakes. Curious to see how those pads do on dust and noise over time for you.
What's your car camera setup?
Hey there! For the 360 shots I'm using the Insta360 one rs on their carbon fiber extended selfie stick. Then for audio I have my Rode wireless go 2

How were your oil temps holding up in that heat? Sunday was as about as bad as it gets for Missouri...
