You can lease a new base model 3 for under $500mo. That is what I did. Buying used is a good option and prices still have dropped so you can get a decent one for under $25k.
Same here in the UK with our Corolla. Is it exciting to drive? No. Is it jammed with technology? No. But, in 20 years the total maintenance bill is less than $10,000 and it has never failed to start or let us down on a journey. And the steering wheel is just fine. We have had plenty of fancy cars over the years, this lady has learnt the same lessons as us, but rather more quickly, don't lease/buy new cars, don't be seduced by 'features'.
The tire wear is from not rotating your tires. Turning aggressively with a very heavy SUV will do that. Turning slower can help prolong the tire life. Tesla's are hard on tires though.
I bought a used 2018 Tesla model X after owning a s and a 3. I also drop my father’s Y. No comparison, X superior from a comfort, refinement perspective and quietness. The falcon doors are a nice party trick.
Look at Marina growing up - I mean this in a good way. Priorities definitely change when you become an adult and start to own property/properties. A person definitely still wants nice things, but doesn’t want to make excessive purchases that negatively affects cashflow unnecessarily, because there are better uses for that cashflow. This is exactly what happened to me when I bought a nice house and so many adults that I know.
Someone should have told her she could just use her phone as a hotspot and connect the Tesla using wifi. All those entertainment apps would work with a connectivity subscription. Once again, someone didn't read the owners manual and didn't do any research.
@@hopperbopperI think the reason they charge so much for registration is because EVs don’t pay the gas tax but the state still needs to get their money for roads.
@@hopperbopper Heard of oil cartel? oil companies have more competitions? whether or not it has more competition clearly has shown it does not matter. They could always cut production and they do. Historically, oil price dipped but quickly snapped up. Did you know wall street speculators drive up the gas price? Did you hear CA government will add at least $.5 to gas tax? Electricity is much cheaper for the foreseeable future. I don't see how electricity will ever be more expensive than gas. If it ever does, switch to solar, not to mention solar price is quickly going down. Electricity is regulated meaning utilities can only raise electricity by so much. sure I like to see gas price go down. I want to see electricity price going down also. I want a deflation. Your first few points on tire, registration and money up front to buy a car is mute. Compare the finance to an ICE with similar qualities, you will quickly find your ICE will cost ever more, $150K+.
Your registration fee is cheap, in Colorado for a $100K vehicle, it’s in the neighborhood of $4K to $5K. That’s just for the first year. I was in the DMV registering my then Audi and a lady bought a model X that sat next to me. DMV said her vehicle would be $5,500 and that was in 2018!
First thing I would tell people who think about getting an expensive EV is to get their priorities straight. If you’re living in an apartment and renting, getting an expensive EV like this is getting your priorities backwards. Buy a home or condo first before thinking of making such an insane decision like this.
Model X features will spoil you - auto door opening, air shocks, great support and more. I drove a Model Y for two days and couldn't wait to go back to my X. It's not the same, much better experience with the X. I am located in Canada and maybe the support is better in my country?? I never had any issues in 7 years with their support and service. Overall your review is very good, thank you.
If you use an acidic hand lotion and touch the steering wheel, if course it will damage it. My Tesla X is 7 years old and still looks like new inside-out. You also proved the amazing support and warranty of Tesla. Other companies like Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac will never give you a new steering wheel.
That's what I thought too. I noticed that the keyboards that my wife uses always has letters that are rubbed off. Same applies to the plastic buttons on the steering wheel or radio. I thought it has to be either the lotion she uses or her long acrylic nails.
Because it's exaggerated. Good experience all round so far. Not had to fight for anything. $0 on maintenance to date, $probably about $25 to $30 for charging a month. Vs $400 per month on gas for a porsche of similar size, plus thousands a year on maintenance.
@@ugonwogwugwu7988 she is right. I have a model X and a cyber truck. I’ve had my X for 4 years and it’s true. You do have to fight for everything for the most part. The only reason I would never buy another Tesla is because of Tesla Service. Although they are honest and you will not get ripped off, they are very difficult to deal with. Especially if the problem is serious and they need to keep your car for a while. You literally have to fight to get a loaner. The average service center has about 100 loaners…… but when your tesla is not in service, they are by far the most fun addicting car to drive and that is the reason that people come back and buy them and deal with Tesla‘s service. 8 out of 10 people return to buy another Tesla. There is solid data on it.
I turned down delivery of the Cybertruck I reserved and picked up a 2024 five seater model X June 1st with a traditional steering wheel featuring the horn in the center. Thank you Tesla! Build quality is 100% on my particular vehicle. I test drove the Y and liked it, but the X has more room, which I need.
There is an annual registration fee on all cars. Cost varies by state. California fee is high. It's a booster chair for the kids. It raises them up so that the seatbelt will fit over their chest.
Unless you are unaware. You can hotspot your phone and the car can connect abd you have access to youtu d etc. im sorry you feel like the resr screen us "useless"
Model Y is good at it's price point, but far from being a luxury vehicle. The suspension is so bumpy and uncomfortable for people sitting in the back. Even compared to a Toyota Highlander, the Model Y feels cheaply put together.
There are many alternative options available in the market with an customer centric approach to deal with the issues and a prompt service in order to retain the loyal customers and build the trust of people in the brand
That’s the thing with Tesla, they have the highest retention rating in the industry even better than Porsche and Ferrari. Most Tesla owners would never switch the trade offs are to heavy.
Any of the good EVs usually cost more and have a worse charging network. So for now, Tesla is still one of the best options. Plus after almost 4 year, I've only used their service once and it was for a minor issue that was easily fixed by the mobile repair guy who came to my work. There is almost no maintenance.
@@niallk9336 It has nothing to do with cult behavior. It's because most Tesla owners never had to deal with the customer service because there is no maintenance.
Interesting that you said you don't want another subscription when that is what Tesla is hoping will be the future.SaaS model. Hopefully they will have subscription bundles. I'm pretty excited about the idea of being able to buy one and have it as a revenue source if the FSD with "0" interventions. I think Tesla needs to apply to be an insurance company if they are as confident as they say they are.
I don’t think the reasons mentioned in the video are the real reasons why a model X will not be purchased again. You gave the same excuses as my broke friend. Just saying🤷🏽. Hope all is good.
I’ve got the model y and I can’t see me ever going back to internal combustion engines. However I have solar so it literally cost less than my gas a month to get a new car. I wouldn’t buy a model x though as it costs way too much. Sales process and service are terrible. I’m a fan boy but nearly gave up on Tesla whilst trying to buy one. Stuck in pandemic mentality
@@hopperbopper it just runs direct from solar 100 percent no back feeding and works great. Free for me to get a new car just with gas savings for me. Pays for itself every 5 years
@@hopperbopper i guess you don't live in CA where gas price is multiple x of electricity. brakes? I thought no need to change that in an EV. Don't forget to factor into how many items you have to maintain in an ICE that you don't in an EV.

I’ve always had exceedingly positive experiences with Tesla. As has all my family members. I would happily recommend them to anyone. The model x and S are in their own little category as more complex, less mass produced car using some of their older tech batteries. 5 in the family, and never lost one of them to a day of service since 2018. I’m yet to see any other car that can do that. Ps your clickbaity title sucks. Discredits your work here. You might get views but you won’t get subscribers. 🤷🏼♂️
My first thought. You can buy 2 Toyota Hybrids for the price of a brand new Tesla. OK to buy a new car if you drive it for 10 or more years. Driving my Toyota for over 22 years. Just maintain it.
Buy they lease which is far more costly over the long run. Although she is talking about buying now a used one so your option is far better than the one they are proposing. Especially since I have seen how Tesla reacts to customers who don't have an online creator presence - you pay for everything to be fixed!
That's a 100k car. Tesla also has teh Model 3 that is $36k after credit and the Y that is $42k after credit. How much is the Camry and Rav4 if you buy a trim and options that match those 2 Teslas?
I mean, you'd think that because of the high price you pay for any model Tesla, there should be very few issues with the car, but I guess the amount you spend on a brand doesn't guarantee quality, even tho it should.
Those used prices weren't very good. A new Model 3 LR is about $36k after tax credit. Why buy a 3 year old car for $30k. The one for $26k might be a good deal if it's the long range version.
Best tip: Use a Russian mafia accent when dealing with Tesla... they refreshed the model 3 this year so that's why the used ones may look more lucrative
Great review. I don’t even understand having a tesla without the premium internet. Real-time GPS traffic updates, streaming my Tidal and Apple plus watching UA-cam when waiting in the car. It also brings all your settings over when you move from car to car which helps when I rent a Tesla. Certainly worth the $99/year to me. I drive a model Y performance and I have seen some small quality issues, but not super huge. It goes through tires quicker than what I anticipated and the 21” wheel cracked. Also the filter starts to smell really bad if you don’t change it out quick enough on the ‘22 MY. I really like the car, didn’t do as well as you on resale, it is about $20k cheaper now than when I bought mine. I wished I leased it.
@@hopperbopper $99 a year, not a month. This system is on a 15" screen, not a small phone screen. I have used Apple CarPlay and it is a hassle sometimes too and doesn't have the same functionality as the Tesla. I can't speak for Android. I have iPhone with several GPS apps (Waze, Maps, Google Maps), but I never use them in the Tesla. No comparison. I am glad you like using your phone, I did too until I bought the Tesla.
@@hopperbopperIt’s $8.25 per month. Or 27 cents per day. You have Android Auto so how much are you spending on gas per month? I think you’re losing way more money on gas compared to her on electric
@@hopperbopper All your points were more valid at one point but as time goes on they become less and less in the ICE vs EV debate. Every industry had early adopters that stuck with emerging technologies. IBE supporting industries have had 100 years to mature. Yup electricity and oil companies are all monopolies but at least electricity is competing with ever decreasing solar capabilities costs. Imagine if the red tape was removed in the US and adding solar was as cheap as it is in Australia. US gave up on solar cells tech but it took the rest of the world to prove us wrong and make cheap. From $6/watt 25 years ago down to as low as .25 cents and even with that Australians still pay 70% less for residential solar. Now battery tech is improving on historic shortfalls with faster charging, new battery chemistries including cheap sodium based batteries and longer ranges. Any EV batteries are almost 100% recyclable. Even the cost of doing that is getting cheaper. We could have a 500 mile battery that charges in less than 30 minutes in the next 5 years. Just saw a UA-cam video of a guy with two Model S EVs with 430K and 375K miles using the original battery. How much did he save over the cost of gas? Clearly he's far less on carbon emissions since production of his vehicles compare to an ICE equivalent. This is why I conclude EVs will benefit over the years from parallel efforts that will result in converging efficiencies for EVs.
@@hopperbopper Again valid points that will diminish over time. Competition and cheaper battery tech will bring down the cost of EVs. Look at the cost of a Model X over the last 2 years. Yup accident repairs take longer due to shops have fewer qualified techs to repair them. Hertz learned that hard lesson. But can these cars get to a point of being involved in fewer accidents given the tech. Are EV tires more expensive because they are that much more costly to make or is it manufacturer driven given their. As batteries improve I imagine they'll become lighter as well taking less of a toll on tires. We're already seeing smaller higher and more powerful EV motors reducing the overall weight of EVs. I imagine solid state batteries will less weight as well. Toyota looks promising. I don't mean to come across an eternal optimist but I'm just looking at other industries who've experienced similar efficiencies and breakthroughs. I think a water fueled engine might be the holy grail but also a solar powered car as the solar cells improve on efficiency and vehicles drop in weight.
@@hopperbopper Can't find my reply to this. Toyota has the same delusions as other car manufacturers and people clinging to ICE. Hydrogen ICE cars fit safely into their current factory designs....assemblies of the ICE motor, transmissions, elaborate cooling and lubricant systems. Converting water to a significant amount of hydrogen to power an IBE is the endgame but I will believe it when I see a car rolling off the assembly line.
Honestly, if you are qualified for 7500 incentives, it probably would be the same price for you to get a brand new versus a used one. I just got brand new my model y for 41K.
FYI, fix your front facing camera setting to reflect the correct view, so that it doesn't look like bizzarro England, where everything is written backwards.
I paid for all my Teslas but I heard at end of lease, u have to surrender it back to Tesla. My question is what Tesla is doing with all lease-end vehicles??
At this point, I'll stay with Toyota. They retain their value and have limited issues. I am expecting that the first reliable self-driving vehicle will come from either Toyota or Honda, based on the efficacy of their cruise control.

Correct, also, you cannot rotate tires on a model X
Total Click Bait......
Holds on trim with clear tape......02:50
Someone should have told her she could just use her phone as a hotspot and connect the Tesla using wifi. All those entertainment apps would work with a connectivity subscription. Once again, someone didn't read the owners manual and didn't do any research.
$1000 vehicle registration renewal? Geezus I pay like $60 a year in Florida.
@@hopperbopper well said.
@@hopperbopperI think the reason they charge so much for registration is because EVs don’t pay the gas tax but the state still needs to get their money for roads.
@@hopperbopper that’s crazy; at some point I would like to get an EV, but it seems like the insurance and registration costs will be insane
Florida > California
Except the humidity. Florida would be an absolute paradise if the humidity could be banished.
You can share internet from your phone to the car, and in that case you do not need to pay a subscription to use the back screen
Tesla stock price...do you think it will crash or continue to go up? It has competition from NIO
Buying used car 1 year older with 3K miles to save $1K is not smart 😂😂
Tesla mobile service actually replaced my Yoke steering wheel on my 2022 model s for free, rep was great!
Buy a home or condo first before thinking of making such an insane decision like this.
you are right! I am waiting to buy used EV. If not do not keep on dropping price, we'll get non Tesla.
Recall is not a upgrade .
It’s to fix something that’s likely to/is broken .
The upgrade wording is bs
I feel like putting a turn signal stalk on it would be a good addition to the car
Overall your review is very good, thank you.
how's battery performing after all those miles, none of that in the review?
It's a lease. So they don't care. However, 20k miles is nothing. There shouldn't be much degradation.
For the love of god rotate your tires!
It may not be feasible on the Model S & X
Staggered set up on S & X no rotation
You can not rotate tires on a Model X, trust me, I own one. The tires are staggered.
Thank you for the video
10:02 "You have to fight for everything if you have a Tesla" Why would you even consider buying another one?
Thru your phone, hotspot the streaming. It will work.
What is a "vehicle registration renewal fee"? and what is a booster? Asking from Germany
There is an annual registration fee on all cars. Cost varies by state. California fee is high. It's a booster chair for the kids. It raises them up so that the seatbelt will fit over their chest.
I rarely downvote, but on this one by two minutes it was enough
Love that white Mazda MX5 on the driveway
Model X is the best car Tesla ever made.
Not any more. I have an X, still do. Took delivery of my cybertruck on July 4. Its way better than the X…in every way.
I can’t wait until I buy a model X. What an amazing car!
How does this lady have 1.24 million subscribers? Did she offer them money to subscribe?
@@JteslaR705 It's mostly just brand cult behavior. I see the iphones on the desk.
Why is the Model X right hand drive?
They're in europe I think
It's not. The camera is flipping the video.
@@saidomiv3465 They said they were in Orange County California.
I don’t think the reasons mentioned in the video are the real reasons why a model X will not be purchased again. You gave the same excuses as my broke friend. Just saying🤷🏽. Hope all is good.
Just saying… if $10/month subscription is too much to handle. You can just pay once a year and save $20. I know it’s hard to scrape by
My model X had nothing g but problems after problems, model Y , 2 years in so far not a problem.
Great video and very informative.
UA-camr tells Tesla they have an issue with their steering wheel. Tesla's reaction , yeah we will replace it for free.
Regular Average Joe: It's going to be $1400 plus taxes. 😅😅😅😅😅
This car is incredible
I’ve always had exceedingly positive experiences with Tesla. As has all my family members.
I would happily recommend them to anyone. The model x and S are in their own little category as more complex, less mass produced car using some of their older tech batteries.
5 in the family, and never lost one of them to a day of service since 2018. I’m yet to see any other car that can do that.
Ps your clickbaity title sucks. Discredits your work here. You might get views but you won’t get subscribers. 🤷🏼♂️
And at 3:30 suddenly the interior setup switches from left side driving to right side driving 😂😂😂😂
Cause you got over the honeymoon phase and now have buyers remorse. Don't worry, we all do sometimes
I’m sorry, but I can’t even imagine the smell.
That's a 100k car. Tesla also has teh Model 3 that is $36k after credit and the Y that is $42k after credit. How much is the Camry and Rav4 if you buy a trim and options that match those 2 Teslas?
The back screen is not useless as you can tether your phone. I get not wanting to pay Tesla for the internet service.
I am gonna get one Marina. The technology is bar none. I was looking on purchasing a 2018 Model X. I don't have that Silicon Valley Girl money yet 😊
get ready to pay 3 times as much to register it and more for insurance
I‘ll buy my Model S and X anytime again. Best cars EVER!!!
Guys, look into Rivian R1S as your MX replacement. Got R1T myself recently, Russian Mafia approved.
What to do if you want Tesla to honor your warranty: Have a UA-cam channel about Teslas with 1.25 million subscribers.
Honestly, if you are qualified for 7500 incentives, it probably would be the same price for you to get a brand new versus a used one. I just got brand new my model y for 41K.
so let me see if I got this right you recommend not buying a new Tesla???? that is ridiculous
FYI, fix your front facing camera setting to reflect the correct view, so that it doesn't look like bizzarro England, where everything is written backwards.
Packing tape to hold trim on the fender? Not impressive.
Why a Lease if you cant afford it then buy a Y or 3 which make more sense. Actually buy it so your not renting it.
I paid for all my Teslas but I heard at end of lease, u have to surrender it back to Tesla. My question is what Tesla is doing with all lease-end vehicles??
They sell them
How many months is for the insurance?
Probably 6. If she has Tesla insurance they use 6 month term.

At this point, I'll stay with Toyota. They retain their value and have limited issues. I am expecting that the first reliable self-driving vehicle will come from either Toyota or Honda, based on the efficacy of their cruise control.
That will never happen. Clearly, you are not familiar with dojo, Tesla’s super computer, lol
Warranty is the key in new Teslas. 1 year older is fine.
