I'm glad someone tried to explain it @1:23:35, but the segment on "How many bytes are in a 1TB" is 1 Trillion, based on the way it's worded (if comparing well Apples to anything but Windows). On Microsoft Windows however, what is labeled as 1TB is a lie and is actually a 1TiB. So on Windows, the actual answer for how many Bytes is in 1TB (really 1TiB) would be 1,099,511,627,776 bytes (1024^4). Linux, Mac, BSD, and modern Unix OS's (and pretty much everything other than Windows) "fixed" this years ago. But even today many people still wrongly think manufacturers are misleading them, or that the remainder is overhead of the OS or file system (neither are remotely true). The correction to what was said is simply that ALL hard drives are manufactured in Terabytes, not TiB (reverse of what was said at the end, and again this is ONLY an issue for Microsoft).
I was going to say I would love to buy a 1 TiB, but they’re sold in TB. bc it’s 1 trillion bytes. The byte is measured in base 2, but then every size above it is measured in base 10 so there isn’t a manufacturing issue

I think regular people have a lot of "solutions" as to how big companies should do things and I wonder what's the reason behind why said companies don't do that. If it was really that easy to just combine Google Assistant and Gemini, Google would surely have done it. Assistant is so powerful and does many versatile things, that I think it hit Google in the ass when they tried to put AI into it, so they just came up with Gemini and now they're slowly trying to put all the assistant stuff into Gemini.

Could be wrong, but content aware fill isn’t AI because it’s using other parts of the image to fill in the section, like clone stamping. Generative fill is AI because it’s generating something new based on the context of the image.
I think one of the reasons why UA-cam has not implemented A and B testing for titles yet is because they need to figure out how that will work with the feature that allows videos to display with titles in different languages and fix the bugs in that system. For instance, I watch a lot of videos that are in Korean. When they are first released, they don’t always have translations uploaded. 1-4 days later they tend to add the English translations and I usually notice this because the title of the video suddenly changes. However, if i am watching the video in a queue and minimize the queue, the title turns back to Korean. I don’t know how good A and B testing will be if users can see both titles. So i guess when they fix those bugs and figure out how to let the two features play nice, you’ll get your wish.

David, you can absolutely filter out AI images on Adobe Stock. I use it regularly for work and do it all the time. Also, some of the AI images are absolutely passable for basic stock photography.

photoshop should be able to determine how much of the image in a percentage value has been edited with AI (using how many pixels were changed with an AI based tool) and should label the tag with such clearing up if the main portion of the photo is real or not. metadata tags can be modified or removed entirely but this is able to be detected and most doing this would likely only be doing so in bad faith meaning they could label those aswell, both of these changes would make for a much clearer note on the image and better solution to the issue.
2 things. 1st. If you change the color profile then almost every pixel would be changed. If I added a person who didn’t exist in a photo that would change less pixels. And B. Everything you named can be skirted around by taking a screenshot of the edited photo
@@toptiertech7291 did you not read what I wrote? I said any pixel changed using the AI tools, any other tool used such as you described would not be included in such a percentage. Also your screenshot method would not work due to the second change I suggested being that a screenshot has completely different metadata to that of an actual photo which usually has info on camera specs, location, etc. A screenshot could be easily discerned from both an AI image and an altered photo and could be labeled as such. Like I said before if the metadata is modified its not hard to detect and they could label the image as having been tampered with.

What I really want is for Companies like Google and Apple to have "LOCAL BACKUPS" like in Photos, Files, etc we can back it up to Drive or iCloud. but there should also be an option to instead use Local NAS/Home Server to back stuff up. Face Recognition can be processed on their cloud, and then the database is updated and stored again on the local server. So If I have photos, they will go to Google Cloud for Face Recognition feature, it will create the Database and then my photos will be backed up on the server along with the database, so I can search photos of people/pets, etc easily. EU/US needs to mandate such Privacy Laws, that they HAVE TO have a non-cloud option. But again, we don't even have a proper DIGITAL ASSET OWNERSHIP act/law yet which is why even when you "BUY" digital asset, you are just licencing it and not purchasing.
FYI trash for each drive is stored in a hidden folder on that drive, causing that behavior with the flash drives having stuff on them before you empty the trash.

On budget phones where an under-display fingerprint reader is considered more premium, it being on the back is so much better as a thick case user. A lot of the AI generated content on Instagram (and Facebook likewise) that we most want tagged as AI likely are posting and reposting screenshots anyway, which pretty much negates the usefulness of the tag. I’ve seen plenty of obviously AI generated posts on Instagram that don’t have the tag, but they’re also mostly posted from scummy “dm with credit” accounts who definitely just ripped them from somewhere else, no metadata to be seen.

On the Terabyte vs Tebibyte conversation. They actually just increase in power of 10 increments, which is a lot easier to remember:
1 KiB = 2^10
1 MiB = 2^20
1 GiB = 2^30
1 TiB = 2^40
And 1 TiB is 1024 GiB which is close enough to 1000 GB when giving a rough idea of the amount of storage.
Another way to visualize it:
1024 GiB = 2^10 GiB = 2^10 * 2^30 = 2^40 = 1 TiB
Technically we count in base 10 the same way, but we increase in power of 3 increments instead:
1 KB = 10^3
1 MB = 10^6
1 GB = 10^9
1 TB = 10^12
Could be wrong, but content aware fill isn’t AI because it’s using other parts of the image to fill in the section, like clone stamping. Generative fill is AI because it’s generating something new based on the context of the image.
I dont even understand the tech references sometimes but the commentary makes up for it 😂
I think one of the reasons why UA-cam has not implemented A and B testing for titles yet is because they need to figure out how that will work with the feature that allows videos to display with titles in different languages and fix the bugs in that system.
For instance, I watch a lot of videos that are in Korean. When they are first released, they don’t always have translations uploaded. 1-4 days later they tend to add the English translations and I usually notice this because the title of the video suddenly changes. However, if i am watching the video in a queue and minimize the queue, the title turns back to Korean. I don’t know how good A and B testing will be if users can see both titles. So i guess when they fix those bugs and figure out how to let the two features play nice, you’ll get your wish.

For copying a selective part of a message I use circle to search and when it initiates the blue screen instead of circling I copy whatever words I need to copy. Works great!
for the new ipod, basically take the apple watch os, put it onto a 4" oled screen standalone device. Could use the same apps, soc, lte, etc. add in 256gb-1tb storage options.
David, you can absolutely filter out AI images on Adobe Stock. I use it regularly for work and do it all the time. Also, some of the AI images are absolutely passable for basic stock photography.

photoshop should be able to determine how much of the image in a percentage value has been edited with AI (using how many pixels were changed with an AI based tool) and should label the tag with such clearing up if the main portion of the photo is real or not. metadata tags can be modified or removed entirely but this is able to be detected and most doing this would likely only be doing so in bad faith meaning they could label those aswell, both of these changes would make for a much clearer note on the image and better solution to the issue.
2 things. 1st. If you change the color profile then almost every pixel would be changed. If I added a person who didn’t exist in a photo that would change less pixels. And B. Everything you named can be skirted around by taking a screenshot of the edited photo
@@toptiertech7291 did you not read what I wrote? I said any pixel changed using the AI tools, any other tool used such as you described would not be included in such a percentage. Also your screenshot method would not work due to the second change I suggested being that a screenshot has completely different metadata to that of an actual photo which usually has info on camera specs, location, etc. A screenshot could be easily discerned from both an AI image and an altered photo and could be labeled as such. Like I said before if the metadata is modified its not hard to detect and they could label the image as having been tampered with.
@@jacklobb3510 the metadata doesn’t matter because when you post a photo on instagram it’ll see that there was nothing done with AI. It is not easy for instagram to tell if a screenshot is of something that was AI generated

That way they would lose weight since CFRP is already much less dense than aluminium and they would also lose all the extra weight from the material used to attach the inner structure to the outer body, kinda like they did when they did the whole ‘unibody’ MacBooks. Face Recognition can be processed on their cloud, and then the database is updated and stored again on the local server.
So If I have photos, they will go to Google Cloud for Face Recognition feature, it will create the Database and then my photos will be backed up on the server along with the database, so I can search photos of people/pets, etc easily.
EU/US needs to mandate such Privacy Laws, that they HAVE TO have a non-cloud option.
But again, we don't even have a proper DIGITAL ASSET OWNERSHIP act/law yet which is why even when you "BUY" digital asset, you are just licencing it and not purchasing.

On budget phones where an under-display fingerprint reader is considered more premium, it being on the back is so much better as a thick case user. Sliding my finger - without looking - into the hole of the case feels better than being on the side and having to potentially re-adjust the way I'm holding the phone.

Disclaimer, I haven’t checked to see if this is true, I’ve just started listening to the podcast so my statements might be inaccurate.
I’ve been a big fan of both channels for a long time (MKBHD for way longer but Louis, despite his abrasive personality, has grown on me rather quickly). I think Louis’ video is important and absolutely deserves a response, but I never expected one to begin with since their styles are so different, Louis being so much more confrontational.
I still hope that MKBHD consider telling their side of the story, that would be huge, but I’m not holding my breath unfortunately.
TLDR; disappointed but not surprised.
@@feta_cheesecake to be clear it's possible that some magic UA-cam machine learning moderation hid it rather than a deliberate choice by them. Kinda hard to tell at this point since even what moderation tools are channel has access to can vary by creator size. I just know that the thread with the most replies on last weeks show was hidden by something. I can see it if I click on reply notifications from it, but viewing the video on a clean account does not show the comment at all.

8:30 this poses a double edged sword, in my eyes. A lot of the AI generated content on Instagram (and Facebook likewise) that we most want tagged as AI likely are posting and reposting screenshots anyway, which pretty much negates the usefulness of the tag. I’ve seen plenty of obviously AI generated posts on Instagram that don’t have the tag, but they’re also mostly posted from scummy “dm with credit” accounts who definitely just ripped them from somewhere else, no metadata to be seen.
