Dude.. this is not a beginners guide. You go Waaaay too fast and assume the viewer has experienced hours of playing through all the mechanics of the game.
Thank you for continuing to do these over the years. NMS is the kind of game I will play for a while, leave for a while, then come back to again, over and over. The game can change so much with the amazing updates, so I always appreciate seeing a recent beginner's guide from Hawkes. In fact, more than once watching a new Hawkes beginner guide has sucked me back into NMS once more. Anyway, your efforts are greatly appreciated!
You're box is not an official Bob Box™ You will be receiving a cease and desist letter from my Attorney... Seriously bro, great beginners guide! You crammed it all into this video!
A little pro tip. There are brown patches of terrain on every planet covered in tiny rocks. If you shoot at it with your ship you can farm up thousands of ferrite in a few min At 9:21 you can see some on the hill to the left as you are taking off
I got into NMS from a Hawkes Best Start a few years ago with now 1600hrs under my travelling belt (because Odyssey ruined ED for me), so I didn't need to watch this but alas, I did. Why? It's Hawkes. I mean c'mon, it's Hawkes. His videos are always worth watching.
Hawks you were the first NMS how to video guy I ever saw watched and you are STILL number one in my book. Teaching us all the art of making sweet space cheddar in a way that makes us all remember. Thank you very much for taking the time to refresh the new NMS. I love you bro! Keep it going 🎉
as a newb to the game, I have no idea what i just watched,. but it sure was interesting. im trying to resist the feeling that im playing wrong now. but hopefully some of the info presented will stick in my smooth brain and help me out.
Bro we're same 😂 i just landed for the first time to Anomaly, and someone just gave me items that worth 55M of units. I was like, wtf is going on! 😂😂 i'm still a bit confused. Now what then? What should i do next, just follow the primary mission? Or just do what i want???
@@AestheticMeowwwwwwww if you play on normal, 55mil will mean nothing very soon. Play how you like and do what you like doing. The main quest does offer a lot of free blueprints though and opens up the world and it's not very long in the grand scheme of things. I have close to 200 hrs now since Dec15.
I have been on and off playing since 2017…I ALWAYS feel like I’m doing it wrong :) It’s because there is sooooo much to do, and it’s so easy to get sidetracked. The story/tutorials will automatically unlock most, if not all blueprints/craft/upgrades/etc (not 100% sure because I keep trailing off and doing something else). Can’t tell you how many times I realize I would have gotten something for free or shown how to do something if I would have not strayed. But that is the beauty of this game. It doesn’t force you to play a specific way. Enjoy your experience!!!
Havent really played a serious run through since release. Time to lay down and watch this juicey video to catch up. Tomorrow we jump back in. Looks sooooo much better.
Just started out No Man's Sky on PC. I'm too broke to buy it on steam so I got it off some site on google but it's completely offline.. although I love the building and mining mechanics and everything else about this game.. would really love to buy it one day and meet actual players aboard the Anomaly. Your videos have really enhanced my gameplay experience with the tips..love the video
Noob advice: Nada will quest you to talk to Helios. If for some reason you talked to Helios before talking to Nada, you temporary wont be able to continue the quest. Just visit some other planets, do some scanning (basically forget about the quest like 1 or 2 days). When you have something new for Helios to check out, you can continue the quest.
Really good stuff. The only thing that I can think to add, is that when trying to find Artemis’ ship, and dealing with the target sweeper, you should switch to first person view in your ship. Crashed ships show up as a white square on the radar screen in the center console of your cockpit. If you’re near the “approximate location” marker, you’ll also be able to see the radar blip of the crashed ship, and be able to fly right to it.
Ive played since launch and you were one of the first i watched. I still can't believe how this game has changed. Im doing the expedition right now but i think its about time to start a new game.
If anyone’s struggling with the glyphs, you can start the Atlas Path quest. At some point every jump will give you a glyph. Also the base computer archives quest will give you quite a few building plans.
Artemis* path. It only happens after you've been to like 10+ holo terminuses, and you have to visit the Anomaly right before you do the 12 jumps. Personally it's a little annoying, but I'm no speedrunner. You can do it in 4-5 hours if you're very focused on doing it.
I bought the game yesterday. I'm hoping that I can stretch my brain around a new set of crafting trees. I'll probably just bumble around inefficiently for several hours, but I'm happy to have this video to refer to when I get stuck / bored and want to unlock the next part of the game. thank you for your hard work.
Thanks for making these vids. I'll be honest, if 1 person deserves a sub, it's you. I've been watching your guides on Elite Dangerous, then like a year later watched guides on Star Citizen to see if it was worth buying. Just now finished your old vid on NMS, wanted to comment whether it's still viable and there I saw the link for this vid! You got a good taste in games, thats for sure. Really curious how you're always on top of things. Like are games even challenging for you or do you find the path of least resistance in a game on your 1st playthrough 😀
Just bought the game two days ago in the PS sale for 19,99 €. I am having so much fun with it even though at some points it is really overwhelming. So thanks for this video
I just want to mention that you can upload all pending discoveries at once with the arrow on the top right of the system list I realized this yesterday.
I got that Exotic you saw in the station plus another variation of same one. Just trying to work out on my own where to get S Class Sentinels from as all ive found are 2 C and 1 B Class so far.
For new players I highly recommend farming nanites earlier than going to a space station and buying a gold scanner mod this will increase your income from scanning but anywhere from 6,000 to 9,000% I'm not sure if this is intended or a bug.
One thing to note it's possible to find the crashed sentinel ships that are already complete and don't need the brain, the majority of the ones i find are like that and i have billions now without finding an s class
I never go after the guns on the Juggernaut; I fly up the convenient channels and take out all the shield nodes and the cores that raise out of them which will also make the Captain Surrender.
I actually got my first dreadnought, as an S rank, on a creative mode save that i use to test stuff, instead of my main save on normal. It took a long time to get the same one on my main save...
Thank you for the video brother I will be having fun because of you yes I said that you why? Because I am interested in the game but am having a hard time and people laugh at me because I died from being frozen or burning to death or worse getting eaten by some kind of giant creature lol but I don't care because I have fun 😊☺️
Contrary to popular belief, there's absolutely ZERO reason to put solar panels on the roof: the amount of power they produce depends ONLY on the time of day, that is, one can absolutely put them ANYWHERE, even underground. That's why prefab rooms like cuboid have those snapping spots for panels and bats.
Great run through, I have just built my first base and teleported, so have stopped the video a little after to sync my progress. I died walk on someone’s precious relic, as the sentinels jumped me. What’s required to fend off sentinels?
so i was following your last guide that came out when i started nms again and got to the part about farming the oxygen and found out that it was a lot less oxygen for me too, i did some googling and turns out they nerfed the oyxgen farm for plants under water!
If you can find at least one phyto plast with a secondary of oxygen you are golden. My buddy Warteck who was playing off camera found a moon with 2 x phyto both with the secondary of oxygen. It was a really unfair advantage. His prep stage was way faster then mine on this run.
Subscribed :) Been following this guide pretty closely. I got my Oxygen farm setup (even have two Cyto flora with Oxygen secondary like you have). Where I am stuck is getting that first S Class ship. I skipped ahead and have the economy scanner and in a 3 star system (Advanced, Affluent, High Supply system), ended up getting in a random Freighter rescue mission so now I have a Freighter, but my goal is to get that S Class ship and continue with the guide. Is this just a fool's errand and will take days or longer waiting for an S-Class ship to land?
Nice and fun video! I dont see a reason to load your save point to ”cheese” farm money or nanites since you can just set your game to free if you like. Kinda hate that about No mans sky.
As a new player to NMS it takes all the fun out of the game when you say oh here you find a S class ship or S class freighter part of the fun is finding it on my own
Every time you do one of these for NMS or Elite? You send me back in for another billion hours. I'm lucky you don't play Satisfactory or I would never leave the house 😃
Can’t find anywhere to sell my 10 stacks of Chlorine, ie somewhere I’m also able to buy Chlorine. Any tips? Is it just luck? I’m doing a lot of warping trying to find somewhere…
As someone who was trying the game, this video is so fast it is almost like a run thru for people that have already done a playthru. I did not know how to craft a nano tube or whatever took a while, did not know could grab rust so left all the green chests. I think was a machine I needed to make to help create parts to fix ship yet still clueless.
