No Many Sky is one of those games where I legitimately feel guilty for the amount of content I have received vs what I paid. I get that they had a terrible launch, but they have more than made up for it...several times over.
yeah Hello Games is a blueprint of what a company should do with their game obvi not the rocky launch part but actual updates without putting a paywall behind every single small addition just good updates and expansions that are just that UPDATES
@Mitsurugi2424 I know, same. I did enjoy it when it came out, it was very repetitive but I like weird things like inventory management and other organizational things. I wish I could support HG in other ways than buying it originally and spreading word? I would pay money for bonus optional cosmetic content 😭😭
it’s more so the fact they aren’t a triple a game company so they are that small they most likely watch every single piece of critique and review on the game, I don’t believe they anticipated this would get that popular
Don’t feel bad, the game still makes profits, I’ve bought it like three times lol. It’s still pricey if outside of a discount of some sort, and that’s fair, the game is very relevant, it’s really an example what a live service should be, and poe, poe is pretty fair too, and probably few others, maybe.
Glad people are now seeing how much this game has evolved over the years, i did enjoy how you told your story through the eyes of your traveller. Tip: if you claim a damaged ship it gets saved and you can recall it on your frighter, space station, or anomaly before fixing it.
@@CT-1035 True, but it is only the launch thrusters and pulse engine that need to be fixed to get it airborne and sold, but i wont lie, it does take a good amount to get every one fixed up and ready to use.
Usually when ever you click one of these videos it's always the same thing just have watch a guy struggle in an unfamiliar game in an unedited video but this guy actually took the time and showed some dedication here with actual narrative, thank you!! this is what I want to see when I go to these 50 or 100days in a game videos..
i just recently purchased No Man's Sky for myself and a friend and we are enjoying this game! currently has 64.5hrs while my friend has 45.4hrs! im loving this game!
5 minutes in, and it's one of the best play through videos for NMS I've ever seen. Take my sub. I'll definitely need to check out what else you've done
I’m so jealous on how amazing your starting planet was. When I first picked up the game I never got anomalous rocks, or giant worms. It’s quite beautiful.
no man's sky - the movie ! Very well done ! i always said that if they had voice lines to the things we need to read when characters say stuff, the game will be X2 the awesomeness that it is.
Its been around 6-9 months since I last played this game. Can't believe how many new things are in it: The brood mother miniboss, the wave effects in storms, and much more. Alas, what really made NMS shine in this video was the awe-inspiring cinematics, the continuous progress through the main storyline, the steady narration and convincing voiceovers. It was beautiful downright beautiful. Thank you!
i remember when the game first came out. i was so excited in anticipation for it to release back in 2016. crazy how different the game is and how long it's been
Honestly, this was an exceptional journey. I love this game and it's become so much more than I had expected when it came out. I laughed, I cried, I subscribed.
It's cool to see the redemption song of this game. When it released, i watched my flatmate play it and thought it looked ok but didn't get what the fuss was about. It's a beautiful thing when feedback is heeded and improvements are made. Glad those of you who stuck with the game have had your patience rewarded so bountifully😊
whoa this is a very well-produced video. I started to play this game a while back but didn't follow the main storyline and as i have a bad pc, i stopped. So thanks for the documentation of the Atlas story
Wow that was a really good and well made video, coverd so much you can do in the game. Almost everything ecept the story you unlock after the main story...☺️ Very good content.
I bought this game a while ago and have been playing it some odd 20 hours. It's not the type of game I usually play, but it's been very interesting. I still find it a bit difficult to control my starship, and more than once it has spiraled, literally, out of control and nearly crashed into something. It's almost given me motion sickness from all the uncontrolled spinning.
Second comment, this time addressing less the controversy surrounding early release, and this time about the content of NMS. I've always felt a certain melancholy to the game. While much of what exists, the quests, the fights, the ability to reverse one's standing with any faction... much of the game gives "hope." Yet... so many quests resolve on such crushingly sad notes. It wasn't until my hard drive was wiped that I actually completed the game for the first time recently. That I learned the significance of 16. No Mans Sky is the story of the death knell of a god which isn't a god, desperately crying out to those under it's protection- to warn... to protest... and maybe, just maybe, in the hopes that someone will say "things will be okay." Even if it is just a small and hollow comfort. A kindly lie to a dying person. Because, in the story of NMS, ATLAS is a person. A powerful one, an enigmatic one, but undoubtedly supposed to be one. That is why there is this eternal, aching sadness to the game. God is dead. Long live god. The significance of 16 is an intriguing thing as well. 16 minutes until total system failure, and yet, perpetually 16 minutes until total system failure. Is ATLAS managing to ward off it's impending death at effectively the same rate as that death encroaches? Eliminating errors, generating new constructs, holding out that last gasp for as long as possible in hopes of... of something? In hope. And there it is again. Hope is a funny thing. It can be a salve for a dying man, or a precipitous cliff from which the works of a lifetime can fall. It is a promise and a curse all in one. When I reached the end of NMS, I took the option to "comfort" ATLAS. I tried to think what I could say, and all that came to mind is "Hey... it's going to be ok. There's still hope." A truth, because hope is there as long as you hold onto it, and the world will be ok- the world ATLAS interfaces with, however briefly, that is. And yet very much a lie, because while hope can exist as long as you hold it, this also makes it the last bastion for those in situations hopeless. Hope is as beautiful as it is ugly. Maybe someday Hello Games will give us a means to save ATLAS. Maybe they already have. Personally, I don't hold out hope on that. Some things are intended to be tragic.
how is your storytelling so insane dahell. it was like reading a book where what you see in the mind is literally a movie in front of you not just imagination (atleast for me). Thats very cool!
Coming back to the game recently has been a blast. I had beaten the game in every way possible (full stasis device farm, multiple galaxies, maxed out freighter/fleet), only to find that I can now have a space battle against pirate dreadnoughts and other bosses. This game is too good
I love No Man’s sky mostly because it did what a lot of games have trouble doing. It redeemed itself and it’s still getting updates to make the game more and more polished, which I like, most of the time I play the game I see that it’s being updated, it’s great, the only game I can think of that did that was cyberpunk, and they did that only pretty recently.

I never seen No Man's Sky, dunno why. I always wanted to check it out but i was like "Eh, tomorrow" and this happened so on and so on since like 2020 lol
I watched this video specifically to see how the game has turned out; I’ve heard tales of how the devs have kept refining and improving this game into what it was meant to be, but I wanted to see it with my own eyes… I think it’s more than worth its price tag now. 😆
I was a hater when it launched, but rebought the game on sale in 2023 and enjoyed a solid 300hrs+ on it. I genuinely feel bad for the company because they have been giving free DLCs and updates since then, a total of 8 years. You can compare it with CP2077, that game was a mess at launch, we only got 1 DLC that wasnt even free, cost as much as the game itself and people are praising CD Projekt like their game is a masterpiece now.
I bought Starfield for €60, and I played it for 3 hours, it's so bad. 1 year later, I saw No Man's Sky on sale for €20 and I bought it. I didn't know. Since then I've been playing it all the time, this game is incredible. Starfield is a pure and pale copy of No Man's Sky. This should have been said about video game testing.
Call me crazy, but since the last 2 updates, I've not found even 1 paradise planet with water. Speak of the devil, right after posting the comment, I found one with water.
I love this game i just wish they have more diversity with planets. For example The Outer Wilds (rip Annapurna) is amazing for planet diversity. Also civilizations... like where is the Gek home planet? These are like type... 2, 3 civilizations? Where are their dyson spheres and all this crazy ish? Love the game, but it still has a lot of potential i feel it needs to tap into
11:33 i cant figure out if it's by accident or not that you can stand on the space stations and farm ships. You get both money and nanites. Every ship u buy you get double when u salvage. So it's nice when u buy a 15 milj ship. It's over 30 right back.
NMS is truly fantastic. Almost like Minecraft and Eve had a baby. Although it wipes the floor with Minecraft in my eyes. My girl was always into Minecraft. I'd try to get into it. Couldn't really play it unmodded and even then extremely sparingly. With NMS it clicked. I love it just about as much as her. The thing is, we all thought the game was a scam, a letdown. That false promises were made and lies were told. No. It just wasn't there yet but it was the vision. They didn't give up. Through years of work their vision was finally realised. No Man's Sky is what was promised. It just came too soon. Released today, how it is now. I cannot see how there could be any disappointment when this Indi studio has managed to deliver what AAA studios fail to manage.
Holy shit, arean, i was following you from back in the day when you were making project zomboid vids. And i wish, i would have seen your video before buying. I will find out during your video, if the game was worth buying or not, bc i fear it might not be for me, but it had so many good reviews.
Awesome video! Totally agree, I started a new save like a week ago, and already have 100 hours in! It's amazing what HG have done to this game since release! Quick question, what Armor are you wearing that gives that circle above the cape look? I love it, and I know it isn't the Armored set.
NMS was never bad. Many folks made a big stink that it wasn't multiplayer- yet multiplayer was never part of the plan, the promise. A one dev made an offhand comment that they'd like to do multiplayer and the internet, caught in the hype train, jumped on the statement and turned it into a promise. There were other things too, other comments turned to promises. And to the devs credit- they kept those promises. Promises they were forced into, and they did it skillfully. Light No Fire is around the corner. They have made ONE... only one promise. "A single world, as diverse as an entire universe." Excited to see how they keep this one.
Bullshit, their spokesperson made tons of promises in interviews to hype up the game. How they improved the game afterwards is remarkable, but at launch it was awful and lacked everything, they even stickers on the CD box hiding the "Online Play" icon
@@user-me8jl2xi6v Neat opinion. I followed the game for months before launch, I pre-ordered and have the title to prove it in game. I played on day 1, I was as excited as if it was Christmas. The lead guy explicitly said "no, it's not multiplayer" because "there's no point, the galaxy is so large you would never find each other." Though he did also comment "we'd like to..." regarding multiplayer, before again looping back to the whole "galaxy too big" issue. Online play was never in the cards. They made it work- somehow. I'm guessing duct-tape and prayers based on some of what I've seen, but I haven't cracked the code open to actually look. Re: Stickers over online play. That was a DIFFERENT controversy that sprang up over the whole multiplayer thing. There was a lot of debate if "discovery sharing" was enough to qualify as "online play" so many retailers decided to cover their own hind ends by covering it up.
