Having driven an F8 Tributo around Varano Race Track in Italy, and for a day around the hills around Maranello, I was amazed at how user friendly the car was.. considering it will do over 210 miles per hour, and 0-60 in under 3 seconds, the car is just so comfortable and usable. I own an original Fibreglass 308 GTB as well as a few other classic Ferrari’s, I absolutely loved driving the F8 Tributo. The rear screen is just so cool, Ferrari have really dialed in some cool features on this car. I heard one with a Novitec exhaust and it just screams!!! It’s a shame that the EU regulators need Ferrari to make the engine note quiet. Easily rectified with a different exhaust and no way does it harm the experience.. from the few hundred miles that I’ve driven one of these , I am totally hooked.. it looks cool, it goes like stink, and it handles superbly. They are bloody rare too.. there are less F8’s in the UK than there are 488 Pistas...
Another well researched, no fear or favour, honest review. The lack of a screaming V8 sound in the Tributo came as a genuine surprise. Loving this Drive Every Ferrari Series. Absolutely killing it.
I love the F8!! In some races in the USA the real top speed reach over 220mp/h on gps and 100% stock! Designe absolutely gorgeous, i love the sound of the turbos you said you dont like it, specialy if put some direct exhaust, what amazing machine!
I'm loving this series - the commentary that you're adding, even the smallest details that are in the category of "the collector market thinks [this] about this car" or "the interior is basically the same as..." adds so much more than just "check the Wikipedia article." Because we are on the internet, I'll point out that your history of the V8 Ferraris missed the (no-number-in-the-model-name) GTB/GTS Turbo variants of the 328 which were the follow-on for the Italian market 208 GTS/GTB and have little NACA ducts on their rocker panels. Smiley-face. I only recently discovered they even existed, so I'm very proud of sharing this model info, which is really just the answer to Ferrari trivia questions. Great videos! I look forward to every upload in this series.
I'm 42, work hard as an Electrical Engineer, have money in the bank, but don't own any possessions whatsoever as I hate owning more than I can carry, however, if there is one thing I want to own before I die is an F8. Gorgeous motor.
Great video. Loved to aerodynamic explanations. The F8 is fantastic and I think it is one of the best cars out there. Looks better in person than in photos or video. My only dislike on driving it is a very minor one. The steering is great but it does not offer the feel as in some older hydraulic systems. For example think back to the 987.2 Boxster Spyder you and you mate made a video of. Curious if you agree?
Hi Damien. Loving these drive every Ferrari videos. At 7.34 you were pressing the damper button when referring to the "Start Stop" button being smaller :-)
Great review as always D, kudos for always being able to critique your own stuff dispassionately as a comparable. Re. the two side screens, yes they are deadly on the move but there is one good upside, given you need a 3 year degree course to figure out what on earth they do, especially the right one, its tough for the inner kid to get bored.....even years after santa delived it.
Always enjoy these reviews, watching all the way from South Africa. Out of interest, for a daily driver, should one opt for a 458 or a 488? I did also watch your review of the 458 vs 488 and found it extremely informative. Many thanks.

It's nice to see someone who owns and has driven several Ferrraris respond exactly the way Ferrari intended- adrenaline, excitement and absolute pleasure. I love the color so much. Those roads still terrify me.
Thanks for your entertaining and honest review. I agree that the steering wheel has more than it should but it's been like that since the 458. At least now the horn is where it should be, and it's still nice to have the audio controls right behind the wheel. The newer wheels on the 296 and SF90 are truly awful in comparison. Aesthetically, I'm not a fan of the front facia of this car. It looks like an angry catfish. The sound could be better but that's the tradeoff with having turbos and the performance that comes with them. Cheers!
I disagree about the steering wheel as an owner of a 488. Everything becomes second nature once you drive it on a regular basis and not having to remove my hands from the wheel when I am driving is amazing and more safe in my opinion. I want to feel (maybe delusional idea, I agree) like a F1 driver.
Loving this series..superb colour on the Tributo. I agree with you, Damien, that steering wheel is too busy and the engine sound has no soul. I still love seeing your Pista, it's such a great spec.

Thanks for the history lesson. I think it’s safe to say you have the best of modern V8 Ferrari’s with your Pista Spyder. Some of the corner shots makes the front look like the new Audi R8.
Another fantastic video Damian. The F8 is a fine car but to me (and my goodness these things are subjective) it just highlights how drop dead gorgeous the 488 Pista is. Ferrari’s in house team knocked it out of the park with the styling on the Pista and haven’t managed to match it since - not even with the SF90 or 296 GTB (in my humble opinion). Oh, and yes the 458 is gorgeous too. The 458 and the Pista are the two best looking Ferrari’s this side of the millennium.

One thing after following this series, and seeing all these beautiful colours including your Pista , I definitely wouldn’t get a typical red one! ....unless it’s a classic, like Magnum’s 308 😉
Have to say, I can only partially agree on the looks. The rear does look great indeed, the front and the sides are way too disjointed imho. Also I LOLd at the shaky rear window, they could have solved this with a different fabrication process but its funny to see that they cheaped out on the mold costs on a 200.000€ car. ^^
Color on this is great! But the rest of the car was light on options. You might have been even more impressed with a highly optioned one as it’s all in the details.
The Coupe is also a lot more rigid than the Spider... when you comment about it feeling “lighter, more precise” than your Pista Spider, it could well be because of the fixed roof.. I drove the F8 Tributo, and the F8 Spider. The Spider has a LOT of flex, so the coupe feels much better to drive.. really enjoyed the review.. anyone who wants noise just needs an aftermarket exhaust, it will scream then..

Not a fan of the styling tbh, I can understand why people like it, but just looks overstyled to me, like the designers didn't know when to stop. I'm glad Ferrari seem to be moving away from this now, as the Roma and 296 are much more like it. 296 sounds incredible for a turbo v6 too.
Great & honest review 👍 Love the colour and that's about it for me sadly. If I was spending £200k+ I would rather something that would make me want to love driving it for the noise and feel, those steering wheel controls would mess with my OCD.
I don’t think an aftermarket exhaust on a car like this is that simple. According to my amateur understanding. The GPF filter with its ECU connection. The car might become illegal also which has all kinds of warranty and insurance issues. I don’t understand how Lamborghini can still make a car that sounds like a super car and Ferrari is so so far away from that. N/A V10 vs turbo V8, not expecting it to be the same, bit still, such a gap, such a bummer, as the F8 is gorgeous. And if the turbo noise is actually annoying, wow, 200+k car and it’s that annoying. Tough decisions! I still think I’d have to go with the iconic 488 Pista over the F8, but… I think I’d want either a 458 or an F12 to really get the Ferrari experience.
Damien I am loving this series… holding on to my 458 spider which I love while rationalising the GTS I have a deposit on awaiting an allocation which I am told will be a 2023 car … cannot keep both so a dilemma is potentially ahead. First world problems.

Watching it again………….What a watch you’re wearing, weapons grade…….you’ve won with that Watch.
Damien I am loving this series… holding on to my 458 spider which I love while rationalising the GTS I have a deposit on awaiting an allocation which I am told will be a 2023 car … cannot keep both so a dilemma is potentially ahead. First world problems.
GTS is wonderful - you’ll love that
348 tb/ts, followed by 348 gtb/gts are missing, as well as the 355.
