God, I love it! So good to find a person that actually KNOWS stuff, and takes the time to share it simply and clearly to help others. I'd bet he's happy in his life. I'm happy - the drill now functions properly!
Thank you so much. My neighbor needed a chordless drill so we traded my Makita chordless for his Stanley chord powered drill for one day. I used his drill for less than 1p minutes when the chuck stopped tightening around the bit. I told him that I messed up his drill and would get it fixed. I was convinced I needed to either replace the chuck or take the drill to a repair shop. This video helped me solve the problem. I'm going to give him his drill right now. Once again, thank you.
Man!!!! I'm in Brazil and I looked for a solution for the mandrill of my Black & Decker screwdriver locked in Portuguese and I didn't find anything at all. I had already lost hope when I decided to search in English, and then you came !!!!! Wonderful!!! You saved me from spending a lot of money because the technician would probably charge me a lot of money. It was just a loose screw whose tightening happens counterclockwise. Thank you my brother!!!! Hugs from Brazil!!! Doni
I was literally about to throw my drill to the ground in anger before I thought, "You know, before I do that let me check UA-cam." 😂 Thanks so much! You're a drill saver! 😜
Lifesaver. Just had my Makita cordless drill and thought there was something wrong with it and would already have been pushing for a warranty return. But this. This is a lifesaver!!
You my friend were a life saver. I am new with power tools. (Yeah I fit the stereotype). Was about to send my drill back since I couldn't figure out how to get it hold the bits. Your video was a blessing. Thank you for taking the time to post for people like me. :)
A brilliant fix, thank you so much! I would be lost without my drill and I certainly didn't want to have to buy a new one. Now I can get back to work! Thanks again :-)
Holy shit thank you so much! I just got my very first drill in the mail, granted I didn’t spend a lot of money on it. But I was so excited to start using it for projects. I literally thought I was gonna have to call Walmart again and I have had such a bad experience with them lately. You saved me! Tysm!!!!
I watched a couple different videos on how to free my jammed cordless drill chuck, everything from using WD-40 to tapping on the chuck with a hammer, nothing worked. This was the exact solution! I wish this was the first video I watched. Thank you for posting this, this was AWESOME!!!!!!
This is exactly what happened to my drill. Chuck stopped tightening. There was a screw just as you showed, and tightening fixed it. Thank you for the tip.
Hat's-Off to you Sir! I was just about to order a new (Expensive) chuck for my Milwaukee M18 drill. Your video saved me. Many, many thanks! I will recommend your site. Best. DP
Thank you so much. This is the first time I'm using a drill i got off of goodwill for $4. I would have been quick to assume it was just broken but you saved it!
Thank you and great job for posting this video. I unstuck my chuck. I also had to spray 10W40 in my chuck. It had some rust going on. Harbor Freight doesn't sell just the chuck for Hercules drills. I would have had to buy a whole new drill. Thanks for saving me some money.
Thank you thank you thank you soooooo much. Your video was like the 3rd or 4th video that I viewed. Your solution worked for my stuck Hercules drill chuck. Now it can close all the way. 😀
been using my drill for about 5 years off and on.. been thru alot.. and today i got halfway into a project and it wouldntt ake a bit anymore.. i thought i was going nuts... Thanks much for showing how to fix and a solution when you dont have the right size.. i used a 1/8th bit and tightened right up
OMGoodness...THANK YOU!!! Hanging hooks, for Christmas lights & drill stopped working properly. This was Exactly the problem. I had no idea!!! Blessings & Shalom
Had my Bosch drill six months when it stopped closing on the drill bit, Bosch uk were a complete waste of time, even though it’s still under guarantee. Watched this video and it worked, cheers for the tip.
I bought my husband a set of brushes to use with his Drill for his bday, but who are we kidding, they were for me. Ran into issues not being able to tighten the Chuck, which was going to really suck if I had to finish scouring the guest bath by hand. Thankfully, found this video, totally saved me!! Thanks a ton for ur helpful Chuck fix, absolutely worked! Now I can finish the tub.
I know this is old, but I’m a single mom and bought myself a drill. I could not figure out how to change the size. I asked in every possible way on google and UA-cam. The directions did not say you had to turn the drill on 🤦🏼♀️ Thank you for preventing me from looking like an ass at Lowe’s! 😅
Mine was a "slotted head" bolt on a craftsman cordless drill, but yeah!!👍 Must be fine threads, took probably 10-12 revolutions(LH), but it tightened down and now the drill works fine. Thanks a Lot!!👍👍👏👏
Dude. Thank you. I totally thought I broke my girlfriends powerdrill. Turn out this was the issue. Life saver. Possibly relationship saver lol thanks a bunch.

I don't even know what I did. Just stuck the screwdriver in there and wiggled it around that screw and tried to turn it counter but it was tight but whatever I did it started working again so thank you!
This helped me stop my dad from shouting and cursing. Highly recommended!
Same here 😂😂
