    Thank you so much. My neighbor needed a chordless drill so we traded my Makita chordless for his Stanley chord powered drill for one day. I used his drill for less than 1p minutes when the chuck stopped tightening around the bit. I told him that I messed up his drill and would get it fixed.
    I was convinced I needed to either replace the chuck or take the drill to a repair shop. This video helped me solve the problem. I'm going to give him his drill right now.

    Man!!!! I'm in Brazil and I looked for a solution for the mandrill of my Black & Decker screwdriver locked in Portuguese and I didn't find anything at all. I had already lost hope when I decided to search in English, and then you came !!!!! Wonderful!!! You saved me from spending a lot of money because the technician would probably charge me a lot of money. It was just a loose screw whose tightening happens counterclockwise. Thank you my brother!!!!     Holy shit thank you so much! I just got my very first drill in the mail, granted I didn’t spend a lot of money on it. But I was so excited to start using it for projects. I literally thought I was gonna have to call Walmart again and I have had such a bad experience with them lately. You saved me! Tysm!!!!

    I watched a couple different videos on how to free my jammed cordless drill chuck, everything from using WD-40 to tapping on the chuck with a hammer, nothing worked. This was the exact solution! I wish this was the first video I watched. Thank you for posting this, this was AWESOME!!!!!!

    This was exactly what was wrong with my Porter Cable drill. Tightened the torx screw inside the chuck and it now closes perfectly. Thank you.

    This is exactly what happened to my drill. Chuck stopped tightening. There was a screw just as you showed, and tightening fixed it. Thank you for the tip.

    Thank you and great job for posting this video. I unstuck my chuck. I also had to spray 10W40 in my chuck. It had some rust going on. Harbor Freight doesn't sell just the chuck for Hercules drills. I would have had to buy a whole new drill. Thanks for saving me some money.

    been using my drill for about 5 years off and on.. been thru alot.. and today i got halfway into a project and it wouldntt ake a bit anymore.. i thought i was going nuts...
    Thanks much for showing how to fix and a solution when you dont have the right size.. i used a 1/8th bit and tightened right up

    Had my Bosch drill six months when it stopped closing on the drill bit, Bosch uk were a complete waste of time, even though it’s still under guarantee. Watched this video and it worked, cheers for the tip.

    I bought my husband a set of brushes to use with his Drill for his bday, but who are we kidding, they were for me. Ran into issues not being able to tighten the Chuck, which was going to really suck if I had to finish scouring the guest bath by hand. Thankfully, found this video, totally saved me!! Thanks a ton for ur helpful Chuck fix, absolutely worked! Now I can finish the tub.

    This also works on a "dewalt" a little oil t20 torx bit -
    A counter clock wise turn and "voila" works now 👍🏼

    I know this is old, but I’m a single mom and bought myself a drill. I could not figure out how to change the size. I asked in every possible way on google and UA-cam. The directions did not say you had to turn the drill on 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thank you for preventing me from looking like an ass at Lowe’s! 😅

    Mine was a "slotted head" bolt on a craftsman cordless drill, but yeah!!👍
    Must be fine threads, took probably 10-12 revolutions(LH), but it tightened down and now the drill works fine.

    I don't even know what I did. Just stuck the screwdriver in there and wiggled it around that screw and tried to turn it counter but it was tight but whatever I did it started working again so thank you!

    I tried that on my rigid hammer drill It does work one way you turn the screw your unscrew it The other way tightens it. It will fix your drill
