I'm about to get this done in the next 30 mins on my 330ci. After watching this, I'm not so sure I want that attention. Maybe a custom box will be better.
Edit: I don't regret it. The car sounds much nicer

Only thing I’d try would be to put the pipes further apart and add glasspacks for some deeper tone, but that’s a lovely setup as is.

I was looking for this vid last week but couldnt find it so i decided to go the cheap route and had cut the whole exhaust
I’ve found something interesting over the years of my weird custom exhausts.
If you make the last 2-3ft of pipe much larger, like 3.5” inches, it deepens the tone a lot.
Also, this would sound so much better with a couple glass pacls

you did a nice job on that exhaust,would of been better with a pair of outlaw mufflers but its all on what the customer wants i guess,ethier way nice job on the install
2" pipe? That's too small. I would've went 2.5 but it's not my car. Lol. Has good sound at low rpm and idle but to raspy for me lol
Thats my car and yea i wanted 2.5 but they said they couldn’t fit 2.5 so i went with 2.0
It's a nice car man. I've been through the same thing with a place who I told them to run 2.5 and got smaller. I went to a different place and they made it work. Few muffler set ups later I got what I wanted. Had to find the right sound
MustangGuy 706 thanks man and yea it just had a muffler delete before they worked on it and it wasn’t loud enough so i figured id try this out.
@@dylandebenedetto8952 Man, I got a 325i with a nigh identical exhaust, and the pipes on mine are def bigger then 2 inches. Its a little lower and throatier sounding then your car.
@@Oatmealism yea I wanted a bit louder from a just a muffler delete but it’s pretty raspy in the high end I like it kinda wish it was a little bit deeper tho
Try fishtail muffler, like my classic norton es2 56😝😝
How do you get true duals from an inline engine? Split header?
It has 2x 3Port Headers
BMW has 2 sets of headers for their i6 motors, 3 cylinders each. More akin to a v6 then a i6

A "true" true dual starts at the header. And it sounds like garbage. Loud doesn't mean good. That sounds like a trumpet full of mucas. Like when I blow my nose in the winter time. Ask around. Ask your friends who actually know what a good exhaust sounds like and then try to tune your exhaust note to be appealing. And if you want performance and don't care about sound, well, exhaust escape velocity is really important. Research it. Just putting a bunch of completely unrestricted pipe from your cat or headers isn't going to add power in most cases. In fact in many cases you will loose horsepower on the dino. So the exhaust sounds like an obnoxious diarrhea trumpet and may have made your car slower. Good job. (Also if you want to know what a good exhaust note sounds like, look up a Mustang with a Borla Atak. Or a Lexus GS300 with a Tunabe system. That'll give you an idea.) I'm trying to help you here... And your neighbors who have to listen to your loud ass weed wacker every day.
the tunabe system sounds like a factory strangled exhaust that bmw now make today in their non M models, its horses for courses, everyone has their own taste and theres no need to hate on someone else car. we all love the same hobby bud.
They have two manifolds from the factory. 3-2 setup.

Can't have "true duals" with an inline 6, as there is only one head...
These engines do have split manifolds though

3cylinders go into one section and the other 3 go into the other, so it technically is a true dual system like a v6 but in a row instead of next to eachother
