Hi guys! We know the sound mixing in this documentary is not ideal and unfortunately, there wasn't much we could do to fix it. However, we still believe the content in the documentary is great and so decided to publish it. We apologise for the issue and hope you enjoy the upload regardless!
Just don’t do like Odyssey does and totally remix music into already-excellent documentaries lol I will never understand why somebody would overlay music on top of a Mary Beard or Alice Roberts series 🤦🏻♂️
Outstanding documentary, I just turned the volume up to hear Tony. It worked. I'm so glad I stuck it out. This last story is the icing on the cake! 🙌✨️
I love these video documentaries. However, the sound needs work. The music which is supposed to be in the background at times overpowers the narrator. The content is superb.
Read the pinned comment. I swear some people will find anything to complain about, even if that something is absolutely free and presented on a silver platter.
This isn't English history and legend, though. It's Scottish history, unfortunately moderated in a very biased manner by a condescending Englishman who lets his prejudices shine through.
If you like English/British History and Legends then (if you've not heard of) I heartily recommend Kevin Hicks and his YT Channel The History Squad. He is the Longbow man in the Robin Hood documentary, if you not only love❤ medieval historical accounts of certain Kings,Queens or battles but Kevin will take you round Castles explaining many different aspects of them but he shows you how to be a longbow man, what you would've had with you on Campaign and all sorts of cool stuff you don't see or get shown in normal documentaries, (sorry Sir Tony!) He also makes his own 'battle models' scenes, shows you on models the bloody injuries caused by arrows/swords etc and how a physician would've dealt with that injury and he tells all while wearing an appropriate Medieval costume. Hope you have a look at his Channel and hopefully it's the sort of History stuff you like.🙂
I completely agree with a monument to King Harold. He was certainly one of England’s greatest Kings, if not the greatest Kng. However, King Harold was not killed with an arrow in the eye. Yes the tapestry was altered. The figure showing the arrow in the eye was altered. Stitching shows that it was likely originally a picture of a footman throwing a spear. What’s more, though Harold’s name is over the figure. That is not the pattern the tapestry is made in. All the other writing describing events, depict the event under the right end of the writing not the left end, where this figure stands. It is the picture shown of a Saxon being hacked down by a charging horseman that is under the right end of the writing. Harold didn’t die with an arrow in his eye. He was overrun by charging Norman Horsemen.
Wonder how things would be different today if Harold had rushed in that 1st Norman retreat, or ...if that arrow had been 4 inches to the outside of his head...
The name Robin Hood could be a play on words: "Robin" for "robbin' (robbing)" and "hood" for a never-do-well. Common words that we are using now in our current history remind me of all sorts of 'non-standard' things.
The Bretons had their own account of events. It differs markedly from both the Norman and the ‘Whig history’ accounts. Unlike the other views, the Breton one is backed by multiple, detailed documents.
This was apparently done before Richard III’s remains were found, which confirmed he wasn’t a hunchback. But some other facts are missing from the story, including the two princes being declared illegitimate, which removed any motive for Richard to murder them …
They may have been declared illegitimate, but whether the English nobles and public would have accepted this is questionable. For example, see the later popular (and armed) support for Mary I when she’d been excluded from the succession. Declaring them illegitimate in no way removed the threat of them being the rallying point for rebellion.
I’m going to pile on about the truly annoying too loud music throughout the vid. With technology today you’d think that could surely be either eliminated or toned down. I have seen most of these vids in the past and there wasn’t that background. These are such well done programs it’s a shame to ruin the viewing experience with the hideous sounds.
Billy, take the rectory and leave it big for receptions, weddings, community parties, just a lovely room for large gatherings. It depends if you are ordering a volley. Fire! Wasn’t used back then cos fire was something used to cook and heat with or to burn a building as an attack. In describing in modern times that arrows were used then it is ok to say ‘fire’ cos we associate that work with projectiles used in an attack. Just semantics really.
I started watching this really interesting program, but the +3 hour length is too long for me. Are there shorter episodic videos, 30 or 45 minutes? One with Robin Hood, one of William Wallace, one on King Harold etc?

With the first documentary I assumed that the issue was a one off, and that it would not be repeated. However the comments on this documentary indicate that All Out History feels that it is the viewers issue to deal with. I don’t agree. There are other content makers who seem to have their act together and who value the viewers.
It's to do with youtube and how it encodes information. It's not good at distinguishing between even volume two tones of sounds, so enhances the wrong part.
Of course, this interesting documentary now shows it’s age…..(who’d have thought it) Richard 111 was discovered under a car park in Leicester and was reinterred in Leicester cathedral in 2015 in a simple but respectful ceremony with worldwide interest.
@johnhealy6676 A comment so nice, you made it twice 🥰🥰🥰 But seriously, I never once insulted anyone, I laughed at a silly mistake on how Roman numerals worked. Why, of all the things on the internet, did you decide my noting that was worth commenting repeatedly?
The content is great. But the sound mix is horrible. Half the time loud music or other sounds playing over the narration make it very difficult to understands.
I read that recently the grave of Richard III was uncovered in a parking lot. The discovery was also that he had "Scoliosis of the Spine ." So much for the theory that he wasn't a hunchback. The Richard III Society loved that the body was found but was chagrined to find it included a real abnormality. If he commissioned a painting of himself, would it have included this deformity? More than likely, his enemy would have doctored the painting which attested to the fact they KNEW it to be true and wanted everyone to know it. I guess in this final revenge they were saying "Oh yeah, whitewash the deformity we've seen for years, will you? I think not." They outed him. I believe paintings of that era were designed to show royalty in the best light: minus any warts. Like the old Virgin Queen with her mouth closed over her rotting teeth. Finally, that doesn't mean he was a monster who had his nephews killed only that his disability made him seem as "the person most likely . . ."
Oh another Tudor fan parroting lies.. Show me the PROOF that he killed his nephews? ..give me a valid reason why he would..?You obviously know nothing other than the Tudor propaganda..Here’s a fact…Bishop Stillington testified that despite Edward lV having had a pre contract with Lady Eleanor Talbot he still married the Wydeville woman..so the crown and the bishop brought Titulus Regius therefore removing those children from the line of succession..this was made clear to the people of London so negating the need for Richard to have them killed… however Margaret Beaufort had PLENTY of motive. ..but people like you are ignorant to common sense.. And ACTUALLY Richard didn’t have a HUNCHBACK..scoliosis doesn’t always present as a hunchback and it didn’t with him. You know how we know this..? Because IF you’d watched the documentary ,then you would have seen a man with the same skeletal scoliosis that Richard had and he did NOT have a hunch.. 😡🇬🇧
A third of the way through, I gave up bc of the loud music! Why do some of these videos have the music so loud it is annoying and you cannot hear some of the words?!
Holy shit, the very last place i ever expected to see in this show was kalamazoo, michigan, the very place im watching this 20-25+yr old show(the Robin hood one) from in late 2023.
I visited Great Britain one time when I was 18 years old. I wish I was able to visit everything but I would like to see right now! I envy the English who is the rich history!
The argument that Stanley was for Stanley belies the fact he was married to Margaret Beaufort, Henry's mother, who had done all she could to place him on the throne. I can't imagine that Stanley would go against Margaret who was rich and powerful in her own right. Do ppl think if he had gone for Richard instead of Henry that he'd walk through the door, "Honey, sorrow your beloved son is dead and I helped". Margaret would find out the facts. He couldn't lie to her and get away with it.
The patton hasn't enough penetration for frontal armour attacks, so you need to flank and shoot the rear or sides. The gun depression and accuracy is superb and so holding ridgelines is easy. For me the T62A or Leopard is slightly more versatile.
