It performs great to me. Being an ex Mustang Mach E Performance owner, I would pick the Lyriq AWD Performance over the Mach E. The Mach E slowed down at 60 mph, and the Lyriq is just getting started at that speed. But the true greatness in the Lyriq is the comfort. And for the price point, it can't be beat.
I have both also std range AWD Mach-e and a Lyriq . I find the Mach-e a lot quicker. But the 5 second limit to protect the battery life is real for the Mach-e.
You do understand that Cadillac has specifically tuned how the power is transmitted to the ground so acceleration is “Cadillac like” for its mature clientele and not for the maximum straight line tire smoking drag strip bragging rights for Gen Z buyers. It is a luxury car, not a sports car. There is also a recently available OTA update at $1,200 that reportedly knocks off 0.3 seconds 0-60.
Cadillac has repeatedly tried to shake the "only for old people image." Those that don't want to accelerate quickly don't have to mash the pedal. To produce a car that can't even spin a tire is laughable. The Velocity Package is currently unavailable. By the way... the Lyriq's motors are safely capable of putting out 650 HP. That's how Cadillac should have made the velocity package perform. 650 HP!
According to the site Cadillac Society (an offshoot of site GM Authority) the Velocity upgrade (increases the torque by 74 ft-lbs) is available now for the 2024 AWD and later for the 2023 AWD. The upgrade brings the US cars up to the level of the Lyriq sold in China. The announcement was official today so you might have to wait until the Cadillac website updates. Tire spinning performance would stress the drive train more and lead to more warranty claims and bad press. They have enough “first year model issues” and as indicated by the ultra conservative DCFC curve so they are are scared of bad press for any reason. As long as demand is greater than Cadillac chooses to produce they can keep things conservative and leave something more for the V trim.
Yes. We read that article too. It was offered for 2024, and now they are going to make it available for the 2023. Problem is...The package has been on hold for a few weeks now. Cadillac wants to get the software issues under control before offering it again at some point. Trust us. If you know a source besides Onstar, please let us know. No one wants to test it worse than us! We want to make the video. More importantly is that they fix the computer issues. No new car should have 11 problems including bricking, in the first 503 miles. In fact, over 200 of our first 503 miles was going back and forth to the dealership! This was a car bought in September 2024, not one of the 2023 models. It seems to be fixed for now, and we look forward to making more exciting videos in the future.
Does the lyric have a launch mode? Or perhaps traction control is cutting torque? Is 1ft rollout enabled on your draggy? I thought the Corvette looked dominant in your video until I realized it was mine! Good video regardless!
No launch mode. I'm not sure about traction control cutting torque. We will test that. There was absolutely no wheel spin on any of the tests. We will see if we can get it to spin a tire.

@jaymontange8260 it alot quicker from 0 to 60, but from 60 to 100 I would give it to the Lyriq,
Completely agree
I wouldn’t complain about 4.8 seconds. That’s a beautiful car for us folks that like luxury.
It matters more to some of us. Thanks for the comment.

It brings the power on soft from a dead stop and by soft 0-60 in 4.8 seconds in a 5800lb BUS !!

You gotta hit the accelerator like your hitting your ex 😂
Truth is that the Lyriq is plenty fast; if you need anything faster you are in the wrong car segment…
I think there is an OTA that gives 74 more torque but it cost a nice chunk of change.
Check out our video about this!
