- My road to saving faith in Jesus Christ was one filled with intellectual doubts and challenges. In this video, I provide a brief personal testimony.

He did it, so I am too. This is my testimony. Just skip if your not interested. I was 15 (about 8 months ago) and I was sitting in my room just after a FaceTime session with my sports friends, I was thinking about quitting but never actually had a reason to. Then, I was thinking about doing something sinful and it hit me, the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I have sense matures in my faith even though I’m quit literally and theologically young. I’m now 16 and am looking forward to my life with Christ!

It was Dr Sproul's teaching, that turned me from the NAR views of Christianity.
Praise God for these men of faith and sound doctrine.

Hi Allen, 6th generation eh? That’s awesome. It sounds like you were a particularly hard sell to Christianity. That great great grandmother of yours gives us all pause to think just how difficult it is to be a Christian even today in places like China, North Korea, Nigeria and even India. Praise God for his patience, determination and love.

I have some questions for you to consider. If a member of your family, as a young adult, took off traveling and did not communicate for over 3 years so that you didn't know where they were, nor did you know if they were still alive, would you disown that family member? This is not a hypothetical situation. It happened in my family.
My brother did this when we were young. He kept in touch with no one. We all felt frantic with worry. Did we say, "Oh, well, that's it, he's not a member of our family anymore."
NO! A thousand times, no! He didn't have to earn his way back into our family. Once a family member, always! And so it is with God and His family. John 1:12-13 says, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name; which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
I agree with you Allen, there isn't much from the past life that needs to be dredged up. We are ALL sinners, deserving of hell for violating the Holy God of the universe's perfect law, but in His grace and mercy, He sent His perfect, only begotten Son to die so that we could be reconciled to Him through Christ's blood.
I was 5 years of chronic illness! I was Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation.
But God did an amazing work. And if he can do this, he can do it in you also. 👍🏼
I now have a Christian Channel where I encourage people and show them what God did in my life and that there is hope for you also. ✝️🔥

5:24 AMEN Brother, AMEN. Jesus Christ is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIGHT. I for one never questioned the existence of God. I was born in a Christian Home but as a disobedient person that I was I did backslide. but I could never sin peacefully. I know that sounds weird but I was unable to become drunk, smoke weed, or watch porn as someone else could. It would torment me with Shame and Guilt. While others wouldn't flinch, my conscious was captivated and flooded with the knowledge that this was wrong. During Covid I have sought the Lord and for the first time ever I have been able to feel a peace and joy of delighting in HIM only and Not in anything else. Pray for me my brothers and sisters.

You answered a question I had a few months back and this was the answer I was looking for! I asked when you knew you belonged to Christ and you answered that there was no light switch moment. What I meant was when, in your faith, did you become certain of your redemption? I made a public profession and was baptized at 15. I studied as much as anyone but it took me seeing my sins before there was a defining moment. I struggled with wondering constantly if I was "saved" or not. It wasn't until I was broken over my sin that I realized that I was living for me and me alone and that I had never taken up my cross and died. It was pretty recently actually.

By the way ~ I'm sure you know Dr. John MacArthur. We worked together in C. E. (Christian Endeavor) 65+ years ago. He, too, is my junior. I had traded my '46 blue Chevy convertible for a '51 maroon Chevy 4 door so I could haul more kids to C. E. We met at various churches once a month after our own church's Sunday evening services.
And, yes, although I can't always remember what I had for breakfast today, I still remember cassette tapes! Also 78's, 45's and
33 1/3's! Oh no! I almost forgot ~ wire recorders! WOW! Talk about the cat's meow!

I'm curious about the wire recorders. What decade were they in use? I remember 8-track, 33 and1/3, 45s, 78s, and even clear red and clear blue vinyls. But I have never heard of wire recorders. P.S. I too thought my conversion was gradual, but my pastor clarified it for me in a conversation we had. He said that salvation does occur in a moment even if we might not recognize it. It sounds like your story started somewhere/sometime with your salvation and then progressive sanctification. Thanks for sharing

For several years, my Bible teaching came from cassette tapes. I belonged to a tape lending or rental service and Greg Bahnsen's tapes were some of my favorites. When my husband agreed to join a church with me, it was an SBC congregation. It was incomprehensible to me that many people could tell the exact moment that they prayed a prayer and became saved. That was not my experience at all. Through the lending tapes and my own Bible study I realized that I was elected or chosen. MacArthur's books and tapes also became valuable tools. You are the first person, however, that I've heard mention Bahnsen. He was quite a teacher.

I am glad to hear there was no light bulb moment. I didn’t have one. I’ve heard so many people say that if you cannot remember that exact moment in time, then you may not be saved. That has always bothered me. I found Justin Peters UA-cam channel thanks to our church hosting the Experiencing God weekend and subsequent 6 week workbook of Henry Blackaby. I thank God that the pastor that foisted that upon us is now gone and our new pastor is a subscriber to Mr Peter’s channel. Just last Sunday I told him to check out Polite Leader. I hope he has done so.

Thank you for sharing! I have struggled with not having a light bulb moment as you said. I know this isn't as rare as I believed thanks to people like you! John Piper, who I've been following for a while, has said something similar. I didn't start asking the deeper questions until a few years ago and last year to this year is when things started clicking for me and I started to understand the seriousness of faith. I feel so weak at times and will grow more and more, but thankful for channels like yours that speak truth!

Very grateful for this channel and your work Alan. Glad that I was able to recognize many of the names mentioned in this video. I've just begun reading Bahnsen's Always Ready book and becoming more familiar with the presup approach. I really enjoyed hearing that part of your great great grandmother coming out of Hinduism as well as the Lord called me out of Hinduism a number of years ago.

Thank you for sharing. I was a hard sell before I truly was saved. I actually went to a private christian school for my whole grade school through high school career. I used to grill my Bible teacher so hard. His name is Jon Benzinger. Anyway Jon is a great Bible teacher and funny enough he is now a head pastor of a church called Redeemer in Arizona. It is actually the same church that Costi Hinn became a pastor at a little while ago. Both are great Bible teachers. Have you heard of Redeemer bible church? They aren't super popular but I believe you would definitely enjoy it! Thanks again!

My ancestors were Hindus who at some point were forcibly converted to Catholics by the Portuguese in Goa.I came to the saving faith when I was 24 years old.From then on there was no turning back and I am so blessed serving the Lord.Your videos always strengthen my faith my dear brother . It's terribly tragic that a video made for the purpose of describing your conversion contains absolutely nothing about the gospel, a Biblical understanding of sin and your hopeless position before God, or the required response of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21) The Bible teaches that salvation occurs at a specific moment in time, this is why Christ used the example of physical childbirth to describe it. (Jn 3:3) You must come to a specific point in your life where you see yourself as a lost, helpless sinner, you turn from your sins, and you trust solely in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. This is a conscious act of the will on the part of the lost person and it is just as memorable as the physical birth of a child. If this has never happened then you have every reason to doubt the validity of your salvation, because if this has never happened you are still lost.
Decision Regeneration, the synergistic concept of marking and remembering an exact day and time. There are those of us who could remember the year and maybe the time of day or so, but this was just a smaller aspect in the moment of God's salvation, bringing you to Jesus in a moment of deep reflection and commitment. Many people know the Lord through rearing and thats all they ever could remember. Others come to know the Lord as if they were driving from Los Angeles to San Diego, they may not know exactly the moment or pinpoint when they crossed the Orange County border into San Diego from L.A., but they know they crossed over.
I have got just slightly doubts, if it is good that won debates abs discussions should be the base of “new found faith”.
It showed especially in these very times (in the last 5 or so years), that talented communication can be successful, even if it is not based on reality, on facts, on empathy and goodwill (and god will).
Trump and Brexit (and many other smaller “events”) showed, that your intent can be as wrong as it gets (for every person who has ever so slightly some intellectual properties) yet you can win debates and you can win elections!
Please don’t think, that I don’t believe in God... or that I want to diminish faith- I just want to say, that it is dangerous to go after people who are talented to sin debates - because their arguments don’t matter!

I had a conversion experience when in summer 2015 I heard the words 'the resurrection is a fact' said from my TV which I had just switched on expecting a secular programme. The day before I was arguing with God about something and suddenly I blurted out the question which as an RC I had never thought about: ' what's so special about the cross, why should I be grateful to Jesus for His cross if I have to go to purgatory to suffer for my sins when I die?' After listening to the rest of the sermon on TV, I felt compelled to start reading the NT and for the first time I understood most of what I was reading. I had no idea that this was going to be a comparison study of Biblical Christian truth and the lies of catholicism and that I would soon be leaving the institution I had been indoctrinated to believe was 'the true church.'
Unless a man be born again he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. When you are born again there is a clear distinction from your old life to your new one in Christ. Your testimony is your story of how came to know Jesus. It is your witness to Him. Without a testimony you cannot tell people about Jesus. Intellectualism and knowledge are useless compared to being filled with God’s Spirit. Without God’s Spirit you are none of His.

I sometimes hear ppl say James White No but maybe thst is more of his beliefs it because he is so sure and makes a stand and when ppl do that they sometimes stand back and disagree with what they are saying 1 as they are so bold and too because of their own beliefs

Im alittle familiar with some of those names Justin Peter, MacArthur, White, ect. I like the exposure of false teachings and practices of todays era. All these men help to present light to God's Word and help us identify false teachings , I've learned to move past some of the obvious and really fall upon the rock of ages, by letting go and yield and believe
knowing Christ alone will live out his life in me , by overcomeing when i cannot , sometimes there's not enough time to listen to a preacher or teacher for a hour to tell me something that could be said in much less time. I really wanted to be saved throughout a good time of my life , yet somehow Christianity became complex and men became insistent
on doctrines and beliefs, whether I'm likely to follow or just perhaps I couldn't follow. Allen! the simple Gospel message is preached and if the whole message is presented and light is revealed, living word that is Christ shows himself to the believers in a moment man can be saved and Christ is glorious in all that he has done , i don't really know why i started to write so much lately, but nevertheless here it is. I've fallen in love with the writings of watchman nee, because it's like I'm hearing the gospel for the first time and he talks in depth but its so easy to follow not at all difficult to comprehend. I left a Baptist church about 2 months ago were i taught the youth i left over a gospel issue (i am reformed theology) started an adult group on Wednesday at another church and the pastor wants me to take over the church. Not sure what God wants but I am going to let Him figure it out. Please pray for me. I just want to be in Gods will not my own
You should never hold back on your testimony. Of all your teachings your testimony is the one thing the enemy, whether an atheist, any other non-believer, or Satan himself, has no weapon that can destroy it. For this reason we are told that we over come, by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Think of it. The 2 things Satan can't really defeat is the sacrificial blood of our Savior, and our testimony of how that effected us personally. God bless you Alan.
