- clean my apartment with me! cleaning and organizing my nyc studio apartment FINALLY! let's chat while you clean with me. it has been 4 weeks since i moved in and my place already needed a clean. hopefully this will be the cleaning motivation you need for this week! we are deep cleaning today from organizing to wiping things down to putting things away, ALL OF IT and we are cleaning my bedroom, bathroom, AND kitchen. and i have many things to chat about as well.

"the chair" that everyone has. I always tell myself, put your clothes away but they always end up on the chair. Good to know we're not the only one doing this! Loved this vlog 💕

Although I really like the table-bar you have I believe It messes with the flow of the apartment. Maybe it is the fact that seems sooo tall next to a lower height furniture aka the sofa.
personally i like it, but you aren't the first person to say that 😂 i think once i get artwork on the walls and create more depth in the apartment it won't stick out as much
You could get hooks for your most used coats for behind your door. Or a coat tree for behind your door.
i think i may get a coat tree!
Instead of a coffee table get a storage ottoman. You could put a decorative wooden tray on top so you’d have a place to put a drink that’s stable but the storage you’d have for maybe all your purses and bags which would open up the space in closet. Also I’d suggest a different type of end table n your chair. Something with storage. I’d also suggest some shelves attached to the wall by computer. To hide the area above the closet you could get those hooks that screw in and attach to ceiling that you could hang material from to “enclose it”.

Okay, last tip: You could put up a panel of hooks for your coats right next to the front door. You could hang all of your coats, re-usable bags and some purses there. Oh, and for under the bathroom vanity, they have some great storage solutions at either The Container Store or Target. You could get the little plastic drawer set that would fit under the vanity in your bthrm to help you give everything a home. Anyway, looks nice! : )

Suggestions: 1) basket for under the table by the green chair. I would house all the camera and electronics there. 2) store your extra blankets and pillows in a pouf if you have room. I bought a beautiful Moroccan one that came unstuffed. 3) storage cabinet made to fit over toilet.
Now I have to get up and clean my kitchen. Battling depression and I would be thrilled if my after looked half as good as your before. Love your videos about life in New York. Your parents must be so proud of you!

Hi! Suggestion for the reusable bags: a bin next to the games bin on the table. That way they are by the door and easy to grab. :) Also, random thought...does the ladder fit under the sofa? 😆 Love your vlogs!
My jaw literally dropped at the ladder story. All that trauma just not to win 😩 I hate ladders only once I’ve gone up three steps and it took me forever
and i actually had to do it TWICE we had to take two sessions of the class, it didn't get any better and i still didn't win 😅

You also have great storage above your kitchen cabinets! Grab some colorful crates on Amazon or baskets and put some stuff you rarely reach for up there.

Suggestion: instead of your gray chair, look into putting a storage something there whether its drawers or a tall bookshelf. like something from ikea! :)

When I go on trips I have to unpack my suitcase within hours of returning home because it grosses me out to have my stuff sitting in there and hate the suitcase in the way. I know I saw a meme saying people who unpack right away are psychotic but I swear I’m not! 😂

Hey! Wanted to give you a few ideas. With your reusable bags, I have one of those pretty decorative wall hooks by my door where I hang them at along with my cloth facemask. And second, look on Amazon and look for power cord storage boxes! I had the same situation as you and these power cord boxes are really cool and hide the cord mess. They usually come in a set of two and you can choose different colors to match your apartment.

I'm a design addict, your apt is beautiful. 😍 There are a myriad of ways to organize/maximize your small space. For starters, I'd recommend slim, non-slip hangers for your clothes. They're inexpensive and you can definitely double, possibly triple your closet space.

Just a thought…I think you need to do a little space planning? There is great vertical space, CB2 white bookshelves are great. I know you love “the chair” but it just doesn’t appear to fit in your new space. The hi-top dining table also doesn’t visually work. Check out Katy Belotte she lives in a loft albeit her loft is substantially larger, you can still get an idea of how scale and space planning are essential in an open studio.😉
haha i did only move in a month ago so it is a work in progress and i am figuring it out day by day i still haven't finished buying everything or decorating at all. thanks for watching!
Totally agree! Your windows are beautiful! You just need some roll down blinds to keep the top half ( or whole ) shaded or you are going to roast in the summer. I have huge windows in my house & they make the place cook. The second I got some good blinds, that problem was cut in half.
Girl, you don't need to install your AC. It's winter - open a window!

Suggestion: black out curtains, they work really well with regulating the weather hot or cold 😊💕
You need a rail of hooks above your dresser near the front doors you can use it as an “entry” table. Hang your coat, your reusable bags, masks, keys, etc. you can also style the top of the dresser with some books and a bowl for your keys and maybe a faux plant. I’d also recommend using the coffee bar as a bar cart so you can free up those shelves on the side of your finding table. The cloth bins may not be pretty but they’d be great storage if you got more!

Place looks great! I had a thought..... would you like the idea of a small, round bistro table by your closet? You could remove the larger "sit up bar top" table to create more space and you could put in a small bistro table in between the closet and the fireplace that looks out the window! I think that'd look really cute & lend itself to creating a bit more space in your place. Also, maybe it doesn't appeal to you, but have you wanted to put a privacy screen by your bed to separate the two areas? : )

if your apartment faces the sun, it also heats up the wall that faces it, so you'll just need an AC. I used to have a corner bedroom like that and all the heat got trapped in my bedroom lol good news is your apartment is small so it won't take much to cool it down. (mine is a small studio too)

your closet is such a good size for your studio apartment! 😍 i'm curious to see if you will be able to hang a curtain above your closet. i agree it wouldn't really work to put that stuff into bins, even though it would be cuter, doesn't really make sense to put a suitcase in a bin. can't wait to see what you came up with! 😊 btw you inspired me to make my own moving vlog series!!✨
the best part about the closet is it wasn't even there when i looked at it initially, i asked if they could build it for me! i'm glad you started a series, i will have to check it out! 😊

Blinds will definitely help. Your place wasn't too bad. I empty my suitcase the same day I return from a trip. It drives me crazy to see it out and it only takes a few minutes to put my dirty items in the wash and remove my shoes and toiletry bag.

i was thinking the whole time a block shelf or something like it would be perfect behind the couch, I was kinda confused about a table there so when u said u need more storage I had to comment my thoughts lol
i like my "kitchen table" to face the TV haha that is why i have it there but i am probably going to get a shelf of some sort and put it next to my fireplace instead of the big chair
You should maximize you kitchen space and put a tall shelf kind of storage (metal ones are cheap and look ok) instead the one you have only for microwave, so that you don’t have to make coffee in your living/sleeping room and also to put things you keep on the fridge, so you can open your upper cabinets easy. Over the door hooks are great solution for coats that you seasonally wear and for shopping bags too. For bathroom you can use over the door, plastic shoe organizer and put your underwear in them so you can free some space in your drawers for other things.

Just an idea. You have said that you were considering getting a cocktail table. Perhaps, a storage ottoman would be more functional for you!

You may want buy containers for food storage so the bugs/mice don't get to it. I use glass and plastic containers.
i already have started storing things in big glass jars from ikea, they are the best!
You could buy a free standing coat tree to hang up your coat and shopping bags.
my boyfriend suggested the same thing!

I don’t unpack my suitcase right away. To be fully honest I take out the clothes I wear the most and everything else just sits in my suit case until it is time to go on another trip. I unpack it the day before and then pack it the day of.
