  • It’s almost comical how fast Thomas Lang can rip around the kit 🤯
If you’re looking for new applications for your single stroke roll then this is the lesson for you: • Applying Technique On ...
Oh and by the way -- we don’t expect you to play as fast as Thomas. It takes serious time and dedication to develop this kind of speed.

And remember that your ego isn't the audience. Skill when measured by a consumer (Primarily non-drummers, or even worse non-musicians) isn't oriented towards your technical abilities. Skill is assessed by whether or not it sounds good and most importantly, if it sounds good in the context of the mix.
I can appreciate all degrees of technicality because I play any instrument I can get my hands on, I produce my own and mix others music.
The community of people that can say exactly that however, is growing so that makes me happy!
Let us all appreciate as many layers as possible!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      John 3:16 KJV
The wages of sin is death (hell) but Jesus paid our debt on the cross, for our salvation! We must turn to God and away from our sinful ways, Confess Jesus is Lord and believe with our hearts that he was risen from the dead by God, and we must be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit and live by His word and Commandments! Trust that God will help with the rest!

      @draetonalimoffatt8780 2 роки тому +22

@@hugoshubert I read somewhere (it was a greatly put point but I forget where I read it, anyway) that the reason most people who are very good at something have a hard time teaching what they do is because they have a hard time breaking down what is routine to them in a way that someone who is trying to learn would understand. It went on to talk about how that was due to the fact that you can't really reach the 10,000+ hours they put in to just be able to come up and try ideas like that. There really isn't a shortcut and so in something like this drum video its just a matter of him having done his rudiments for so many hours that he can speed up and down as he pleases. They can really only communicate how to practice what they are teaching, closing the gap to execute what they are teaching is our job I guess.
Most of us have a gap between conceiving a musical idea and communicating it but true masters have no lag between inception and execution, that's why a lot of great musicians say they don't think in terms of theory. The thousands of hours have lead them to develop and intuition that just knows,Victor Wooten is a great example of this.Kinda like the whole Picasso "it took me 20 years to make that in 10 minutes"

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near." - Jesus
Jesus is the Christ. Jesus is the Son of God. Turn from your sin. Repent. The soul that sins shall die. The wages of sin is death. Believe in Jesus and you will be saved from the wrath of God.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There is none righteous, no, not one. There is none who understands. There is none who seeks after God. All have turned aside. There is none who does good, no, not one.
Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive. The venom of asps is under their lips. Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.
But God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. Jesus is the gate to heaven. If anyone enters through Him, he will be saved. Jesus gives them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of His hand.
In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Jesus opened the eyes of the blind. He unstopped the ears of the deaf. He made the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Jesus was despised and rejected by mankind. He was a man of suffering, familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and the world held him in low esteem.
For those who have believed in him, Jesus was pierced for their transgressions; he was crushed for their iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought them peace, and with his wounds they are healed. For their sake God made Jesus to be sin, who knew no sin, so that in him they might become the righteousness of God.
Unless you turn from sin and repent, you will perish. You will die in your sins. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. On the day of judgment, you will be thrown into the lake of fire, in utter darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched, and the smoke of your torment goes up forever and ever, and you will have no rest, day or night. You will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.
But if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. The Lord is patient toward everyone, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in the Lord Jesus Christ. Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
"If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."

You do a five minute single double stroke warmup every day, then practice this getting progressively faster 15 min a day, you will play like a different human in a month.
Progress in music is mostly linear, with the odd little leap that happens because you learned something new that lets you rework what you already know and make something different with it.

Exactly true. When he does it slowly, it does look simple. I could do the pattern, slowly 🐌, and I'm not a drummer. The difficult part is refining the precision and being able to speed it up, "a little". And that takes a lot of practice. Simple and easy are not the same. Something can be complex and easy, or simple and difficult.
