I wanted to make a unique sympathy card so I decided to layer die cuts to get a unique look. I love to layer die cuts on greeting cards and then 'build' my card.
You can cut pieces out of different colored cardstock and then layer die cuts for either a masculine or feminine card.
In today's video I show how to "cut down" dies that are too big, as well as how to create beautiful cards with just stamps, ink and paper. You don't always need to use Designer Series Paper (even though I often do!)
Layer Die Cuts: To layer die cuts is like putting a puzzle together--only easier! Your handmade cards have added dimension this way. For these cards, just stamp and cut out several pieces, then layer them together to create a card!
I hope you enjoyed these layer die cuts and learn a tip or 2. This stamp set bundle (stamps & coordinate dies) is so beautiful. I love the pieces and these fall colors!

Both cards are lovely. My favourite of the 2 is the one saying "I know this is a difficult day." because I prefer the contrast of colours.

Really beautiful, Jackie; I have this set, so I'm gonna CASE these ;) Unfortunately, I need to send a sympathy card right now😢 Thank you for the layering tip: 1/8" matting (I think) looks so much better. And for the layering on the inside - it does look so much more finished that way.

LOVE THESE!!! Really like the dies. Still kinda new to card making. I have bought some ink pads from local craft store. Don't seem to be that wet. Don't have any ink refills for them. :( I would like to buy some good ink pads but, what colors would you get to start? I love all the colors, and would like all of them. In the past on things, it get colors I like, then when I go to do what I want, I don't have the color.( when I was machine embroidery. Have tons of thread now, all kinds) lol
