    Good review but om top love the fact that you did include engine sound rather than some kind of background music!

    Im finding the large majority of owners are very happy with this bike from the reviews ive watched.Im torn between the DRZ400 and this as my next upgrade.Im running TW 200 now.My problem isI like ALL bikes.

      I just bought my Honda CRF 300 Rally about 3 hours ago! I could not decide for the longest time between it and the DRZ. Even after I got to the dealer planning on buying the 300 rally,I STILL could hardly pass up that sweet DRZ sitting right beside it. But yeah,I finally decided to quit messing around and bought the rally. I’m glad I did. Just got back from a couple hour ride in the woods and on back roads,and I really like it. The seat,ergonomics,everything! It will cruise along at 70mph with literally no vibration. It does 70 with more ease than my KLR 650. It also felt as stable and planted on the road at that speed as the KLR. The brakes are good. I can see why some people would think the suspension was a little soft, but I like it that way. I don’t like a stiff suspension! I also don’t think I’ll be upgrading the seat. It was more comfortable after 2 hours than the Seat Concepts seat on the KLR. It could probably do with a little more power;not off road,but on road. But it’s not bad. It’s VERY rideable at highway speeds. I only went 70, but it felt like it sure could’ve went faster comfortably.

    Super fun watching this. I’d love to watch another updated review from you or your dad now that it’s been a few months.

    I’ve had mine for a couple months now and agree with your comments completely. The brakes smell horrible the first week but it goes away. Aluminum bar with soft grips and a 2” riser along with Zeta guards and foot pegs makes the bike much better off road. The ABS off mode turns off the rear only
    The display is far better than anything else in the class including Honda’s 450L and you appreciate the placement on the Rally for any extended road work
    This bike is way more fun than my Tiger 900 and if Honda makes a 450/500 version the Triumph will be traded.

    Hard break ins are the actual best way to seat the piston rings. Manufacturers can’t tell you that because of law suits. The manufacturer on first start up warm the bike up then put it on a dyno, it’s even on UA-cam.

    Loved the review, you are very easy to listen to. I just sold my wr fortunately for more than what I paid for it, I have a deposit on the Honda 300 rally and hopefully picking it up next month.
    After watching your review I feel it’s exactly the bike I’m looking for. Loved your review,Cheers Matt.

    I have a CRF 300 L on order, but will be using it as a off road bike have the KTM 390 Adventure for the road and dirt and gravel roads, but want more ground clearance and lighter ( it is around 65 lb. than the KTM) for the gnarly off road but want to be able to ride to the trails. Will be going with the ABS as you can turn it off when you want, but for the riding I do will leave it on as at 72 do not want to race around just take it easy, When you change your tires and are going to do road as well as off road try the Dunlop TrailMax Mission, have them on my KTM and DR650 they do the job on and off road unless you get in to the really gnarly stuff. I am putting on Dunlop D 606 rear and Pirelli MT.21 front as it will be 90% off road the only road it will see is to and from the trails. On my KTM 390 Adventure I have over 7,600 Km and the rear tire is only down 1mm ( 1/32" ) and new it is 10 mm so looking at close to 20,000 on these 50/50 tires. If you can get your hands on a L model would nice to see a side by side review. I am told it is about 30 lb lighter and suspension feel better off road.

    I have CRF250L Rally 2019 and she is very good. I installated Delkevic exhaust without spark arrestor and removed the metal plate from air filter. Mitas tires from Czech Republic are the best.

    Lugging or revving the engine during break in is generally not the best idea lol. At least wait until after the first oil change.

    What's your height and weight? Are you planning on trying the standard crf300l non rally? I'm curious to see how that would compare to wr250r off road.

  • @charlesfoster141
    @charlesfoster141 2 роки тому

    Great review, great ride. A tad rough on the revs for break-in in my opinion. I would have run the engine up and down on revs a bit more. I must say that I like my Honda CRF 300L very much. I also own a Kawasaki X300 Versys that is a highly refined and much more powerful bike than the CRF 300L Honda. My Versys has a twin cylinder 40 HP engine compared to the Honda's single cylinder 27HP engine. But both motorcycles are a blast to own and ride. I could not ask for a better pair of motorcycles!

    • @rjl2001
      @rjl2001 Рік тому

      I’m curious how you would compare the Versys X 300 to the CRF 300L Rally since you have or had both. I have a Versys 300 that I really like ripping around on on the street. I have quite a bit of trails near my house, and even more within an hour or so. The trails are mostly Jeep trails and lots of sand. I’m trying to get better at riding off-road, and feel like better ground clearance and more suspension travel would help me out. Something like the WR250X I had would probably be perfect, but I am hoping to do some longer trips which would probably mean a lot of interstate riding. So if you had to keep one bike for pretty regular fun rides on nearby trails (2-3x a week), and hopefully some multi-day rides with lots of highways (maybe 10x a year), which one would it be? I’ve been considering everything from DR650 to WR250R to CRF 300 Rally, or maybe just keep the Versys and upgrade the suspension a bit.

      This entire thing was recorded on literally a bone stock bike right as it came off the floor. It's possible the dealer guys did that during assembly.

    Dudee-pls specified,why the crf300r is better than the wr...!? (especially on the road)

    • @2wheelin
      @2wheelin  3 роки тому +2

      The crf300 rally has a smoother engine that makes power lower in the rev range, windshield and fairings, different ergonomics, nicer headlight, more amenities and tech built in. I love my WR for its relative performance, but the crf is a bit more refined and in my opinion a better street bike.

      @@charlesfoster141 Cool, I looked at a Rally last week, the 1st one I've seen at the dealer in over a year now I guess and was astonished at how hugely tall the bike is. I'M 5'9 and couldn't come close to touching the ground not even my toes. Maybe it's just been too long since I've rode anything other than low riding cruisers but the Rally certainly isn't for me. It felt like it was built for Shaq or people at least 6'5 or more to me.

    Being a 250 rally owner and a Xt owner they are a major difference between the two, almost unfair to compare it to the Xt, especially the 300 to the Xt if the 300 is said yo be better than the 250 rally. I do think the air cooled, lighter Xt is better off road.

    Such cool looking motorcycle but thats about it. You wont go fast, you wont wheelie, When you tip the bike over in the dirt you will have to pick that thing up and realize why I ending up getting a 4 stroke dirt bike. I do like the bike i mean i would give it 15 outa 10 stars for looks. Use the other 5 stars to put in the power catagory and suspension power along with sound lol.
