Welcome to the official MST3K UA-cam channel, brought to you by Shout! Factory. On this channel, you will find many of the best riffs and highlights from MST3K episodes, trailers from DVD box sets, bonus material including never-seen-before footage, as well as new original segments with Joel and his space traveling crew.
I met Mike at a book signing for his novel "death rat" at Barnes and noble in Har Mar mall. Also had him sign the other books I had.
It was the most hilarious time I've ever had. He was super cool, down to earth. Such a witty guy but he was just like a regular guy.
I expected him to say "I learned nothing. Nothing at all."
"Mike broke the Hubble! Mike broke the Hubble! Mike broke the Hubble!"
He's my favorite host.
Yup, the Mike episodes were the best!
Joel's great and all, but I have a very definite preference for Mike's energy and enthusiasm on the show. People just get so... *militant* about it.
Agreed! I like Mike's riffs better, I have more fondness for some of Joel's host segments though. But overall, I remember really enjoying Mike's energy and episodes a little more!
They’re both wonderful imo
My earliest memories of mst3k were of Joel. I haven't seen many comedy central mike episodes. Just his Sci fi ones and the movie.
I like each of the hosts in different ways, even the revival ones.
Joel's Era feels like a cozy small time TV station late at night. Like when I was a kid watching a show real late at night. He has a nice laid back energy and I think alot of my own humor style is influenced by Joel. He has a nice innocent feel that as a kid I connected to.
Mike is more like the fun uncle or kid I'd goof around with in high school. Like we're gonna have a great fun time but we're gonna be in trouble later lol.
Jonah took a while to grow on me and I have to see more episodes but he is becoming a solid riffer.
Emily I have only seen one episode with her and like her so far but I don't have a good sense of who she is yet.
mike never ages .
down,down,down
...but most of all, he learned you can't leave a bad movie even if it has Joe Don Baker in it.
Even Joe Don Baker probably wanted to "leave" most of his movies...😉😛🤣
"go ahead on"
Mitchell!!!!
Legend has it Joe Don was not remotely amused by "Mitchell!"
At least not when you have mad scientists with electric shocks and control of your oxygen supply to force you to stay in the theater.
I wonder if there's Mst3k on the sun..
I'm a mike kinda guy when it comes to MST3k
I'm more of a Josh co-wrote the theme song and got Mike hired kinda guy.
🥰Mike Nelson is a sweet guy, he was great for MST3000!
Still my favourite show of all-time.
Mike is such a nice name.
Yes it is
"There's no doubt about it ! " -- as Bing Crosby used to say.
I see what you did there
I understood that reference!
Mike was my favorite Host on MSTSK. He really enjoyed himself and we laughed along with him.
MST3K is and will always be Joel's baby. Mike was a better character performer. Which made the stuff between the movies, while he was host, much more entertaining.
That’s a nuanced take; I think I agree with you.
Mike always did a great Torgo!
The best !! 👍🏽
Hey, this pizza is still warm!
I wish Mike was coming back as the host. I grew up watching him.
A reboot can be a good thing. The jokes Joel and Mike wrote were sometimes fairly obscure to their own generation. You think some 20 year olds out there are going to know what Shak-a-puddings or hamdingers are?
Well of course not, nobody likes Hamdingers. Though in all seriousness I'm really excited for this upcoming reboot, I'm a 90's kid so I only get a majority of the references because of the annotations they put on the episodes here, so I'm looking forward to what modern references they might make with the new series.
godzilla719 I never got a lot of the references in Monty Python and it somehow made them funnier.
You can catch lots of Mike with RiffTrax
***** Yeah, I already knew. Plus, you can't miss it with all the "Rifftrax" signs in this videos anyways.
Mike Nelson looks great, and he is my favorite star of MST3K as Mike Nelson in that series.
What I learned from MST3K is that there are NO bad movies!!!
Mike,Kevin,and Bill are MST3K period!
He seems much more soft spoken than usual, but it's cool to hear him reflect either way.
Torgo, Jack Perkins & Steve “The Herc” Reeves approve this message.
Rowsdower mobile away! The Final Sacrifice, the greatest MST3000 episode ever. Thanks for the memories, Mike.
God bless you ! my Dear mike ! so much a Fan of the Show .
Joel: "Never play extreme characters"
Also Joel: Does re-animated Morrissey belting out Hairdresser in a Coma from the Tupperware Coffin
Nice..Torgo got his life together.
You know, Frampton really did come alive.
He reminds me of Mike Judge, gives off very normal, ex-jock kind of vibes, but is secretly kind of brilliant.
Mole People was the first one I ever saw. I knew then that I had found my tribe. Mike, we love you and the bots and everyone else.
Being able to take a bottle to the head and keep talking is an excellent life skill.
But did he learn if corn is grass or not?
None of us have. They totally left us hangin' on that one :(
👍🏾👌🏾🤷🏾♂️😆
This is quite inspiring
If you get the Comet channel, MST3K is on Sunday nights.
I do. Thanks for the heads up !!
love this quirky show he still looks the same,.
He doesn't seem to have aged at all! *gasp* He's a robot!
We still love you 😅😅😅😅
Mike Nelson IS MST3K.
Slightly disappointed that one of the clips in the background wasn't the Captain Janeway skit.
I love the show. It was interesting to hear your perspective.
Mike and Joel were both good hosts, but honestly… Mike was just better. He put a lot of emotion into the theme song, he had some of the greatest riffs, and he even destroyed 3 planets in the show’s canon, one of them being 2525 Earth.
His episodes weren’t without creepy moments though… I’m looking at the Season 8 Episode 7 stinger…
I'm really loving the way all the alums are coming back together. The reunion show was absolutely fantastic!
Is there some way of seeing it now?
It's available for pre-order as a video download on the rifftrax website; I assume it will be out in a month or two.
I'm still haven't learned what the hell a Sampo is.
same lol
It's a magical pile of... magical... stuff?
I thought it was a TV.
@@Kara_Kay_Eschel 👍🏾🤣😆🤣
@@Kara_Kay_Eschel Joel covered it during a host segment.
Thank you Mike !
his Morrissey was 👌👌👌
😂😂😂😂😂
Liked Mike as the best host to the show
How to blow up planets without even trying? =P
Seriously, he's my favorite MST3K host. Though in truth he was the host I was first introduced to in MST3K
I love #MysteryScienceTheater3000 !!!
So this role helped you out "In the not to distant future".
Don't worry - we all had to learn to shut up in meetings, Mike.
Bow down before Mike and his socks!
I'm Mike-socksy the mike's socks sprite NOOOOOO MIKES SOCKS!!!!!!!
"NO REGERTS!" says Mike Nelson as he eats a Milky Way bar.
Damn since he was 25? What am I doing with my life?....
True that, Fista, True that.
Yeah that's great, but damn it Mike is corn grass or what!?
"The world may never know. " Heheheh. 😆🤣
yetiglanchi
But he didn't explain what "everything i've done since then" was. I'm curious, would love to see it!
Mike was the best!
Would be awesome to see Mike again on MST3k i just liked his comment delivery better than Joel's.
Maybe, juuuuuust maybe, he's have a guest star role in the new show.
yeah joel would flub a lot of lines & not give a shit, mike was always articulate. that said, I love them both & Jonah too
My favorite host!
mike is the best
"I regret nothing!"
Mike was definitely the best host, not annoying and his voice and jokes worked best
He was the head writer from the second season on, so most of the jokes were his jokes anyway, all that changed was the delivery.
Sorry i don't know the lore... was Mike really fired and re-hired by the show at times?
awesome
I love it guy
Hobgoblins...............
Hobgoblins................
will you ever post a clip from crow v crow or tom v tom debates?
I want to be friends with Mike. He seems so super chill and hilarious. And he's from Minnesota, so he has manners and treats people properly. Unlike the nerds from that gutter hole California. Much love for this guy.
I'll never forget his line from the commentary program that aired around the final episode, "Well, I got into this after I discovered that turning broccoli balls at TGI Fridays was not as fulfilling as I thought it would be."
And Mike was sooooo much better than Joel.
in your dreams maybe. Joel was way above
They were both great in different ways.
+shaolin95 ...they were both great, my sister always like Mike better because she thought he was handsome, as for Joe she thought he was funny but looked like shit. It's the new team that has me worried but to be fair they seem eager enough.
I always thought that Joel kind of droned on. Like he hated his job and life in general
I thought they were equally great.
Funny how hes the kind of celebrity id like to meet. Not any of the big stars at all.
Don't really feel like commenting a clever joke. I'll just say I think Mike is still hot.
Does anyone remember the episode with the mid-movie skit where Mike wears a diaper and talks like a baby in his normal voice?
Here's a suggestion IF they ever decide to bring back Mike in a cameo on a new MST3k episode OR Mike agrees to it --
The original MST3k did a couple of homages to 2001: A Space Odyssey, the most obvious being the way Dr. CLAYTON Forrester exited the series as a "star child."
I would suggest bringing Mike back as "Dave Bowman" was brought back in 2010: Odyssey Two down to replicating the Bowman spacesuit AND lightly making-up Mike to look a bit younger if they like.
Yes, he should come back as a "space-child/god" or a rejuvenated "Destroyer of Worlds."
Something like that would be the way to do a cameo.
Of course, they could also do the same with Joel IF they ever decided/Joel agreed to a cameo as "Joel Robinson" (not as destroyer of worlds but the ultimate robot builder; maybe bring in new robot children who Servo and Crow automatically become jealous of!) but I think that's even less likely than Mike coming back for a cameo...
Great idea !! 👍🏽
tHe mAsTEr aPpRoVEES.

Isn't that the same pickaxe from the movie?
being vague isnt intelligent its ambiguous and hints at not having enough knowledge to form a solid opinion. also... being an artist doesnt always justify simple moods lolol
Mmmmmmhm
he looks like the janitor from scrubs
Used to watch Joel religiously. Mike, not at all. The series Lost something when Mike was in the satellite of love.
Hey, its that guy that replaced that sleepy eyed guy! ;) Seriously though, Mike and the gang should be doing CinemaSins.
