I agree. Maybe they didn't have enough payola backing. I worked with one of these guys when they were just trying to get some radio attention...Thinking they had a pretty good sound.
PLT 108 -Richie was distributed by Roulette which was owned by Morris Levy, although I do not know if he actually owned Richie. Morris knew all about the dark side of the music biz. Too bad he didn’t use his power$ to make this beautiful side a hit..
Excellent Doo-wop 🎙🎶🎙🎙🎙🎙not hear this group before...But I hear in this song bits of " Congratulations by the Turbans " ? Anyway still one for my collection 😎
Hello, Michael! Actually, I don't think the Continentals who recorded this song is the same group that "had many hits," to use your words. The Continentals who recorded hits like "Fine Fine Frame" and "Dear Lord" for the Whirlin Disk label was a black group who hailed from Harlem. The Continentals who recorded "Do You" is a white group from Delaware--light-years away from 115th Street and Lenox Avenue. However, their admiration for the black groups is evident in this recording, if the borrowing the bridge from the Turbans' "Congratulations" is any indication.
Being born in London in the fifties missed out on all these gems, all we had was bloody Cliff Richard and Billy Fury, wish I could sue those DJs for negligence in the platter that matters department, you over the ponders don’t realise how lucky you were 🤔
At some point, this group must have run out of lyrics because they borrowed the bridge ("Our love couldn't last and I have no regrets...") from the Turbans' "Congratulations," which was recorded a few years before "Do You." Otherwise, it's a nice ballad.
This is NOT the Wilmington group! This group is from Pottstown PA Teddy Henry lead, Frank Ciprero, Tony Pace and Ronnie Davidheiser All on Richie label. Everybody Pony, Tick Tick Tock etc Wilmington group is great, played them at WAMS, but this group isn't them

@@garydavid3267 I like this song but love the bridge.

Very nice one.❤❤
Wow - what a song. Where has this been hiding?
GREAT SOUND!!!!
Here's a perfect example that a great doo wop ballad did not have to be popular!
Nice DOO-WOP . I
I lile it. Has some sound of Congratulations by the Turbans. Definetly "Congratulations".
nice one PJ. FYI: there;s a cd comprised of some of the Rithie output. Thanx
I was told that he loved me, but guess what ? Suprise😪😭i was used!! Still hurts, but i sucked it up😪😣but by the grace of god i moved on🙏🙏🙏
I ve heard of the continentals but not teddy and the,are they the same group
Solid tune, should have charted.
Good side.
At some point, this group must have run out of lyrics because they borrowed the bridge ("Our love couldn't last and I have no regrets...") from the Turbans' "Congratulations," which was recorded a few years before "Do You." Otherwise, it's a nice ballad.
They “borrowed” quite a few lyrics from the TurbansCongradulations
Someone has been listening to Congratulations by the Turbans
Wow - this is really nice! Any idea what year this came out, please?
This should have been a hit….reminds me of Congratulations by the Turban
What is this. It's not the title song
This was agreat song sung accapella but I never found out Teddy s last name and what groups he sang lead for
😯😯😯
may "I" please
Footnotes the Turbans on this one.

Wilmington group is great, played them at WAMS, but this group isn't them
I think my brother went to school with him
Great record, but they ripped off the entire bridge from The Turbans' "Congratulations."
Song good but wtf he talking about 💀
Beautiful!!!
