- Here are some of my favorite doo wop ballads. All of the audio and pictures are from 45s that I own. The pictures were chosen at random and don't represent the songs playing.

I never left the 50's when it comes to music. All I listen too is 50's and early 60's, the best ever. Lets keep it alive. Thank you UA-cam for allowing this wonderful music to live again.
I Am a 71 year old from the Bronx N.Y. I do remember when i was very young the older teens singing doo wops on the street corners and in the hallways of bronx apartment buildings, was a great sound. Today with utube i am amazed i never realized how many doo wop groups were around our country.

I'm pushing 80yo. What has given me life is the Oldies. I won't let go of a innocent time when things were about young love and the Doo Wop music that would make the world a better place to be in.

This music brings back sanity to a society
I'm 78...grew up in Pittsburgh right in the heart of this era...Love it. When I graduated high school in '64 the music scene was transitioning to the Beatles style of music. But I never gave up on it. I could listen to this stuff all day...takes me back 60 years in a second

I live doo wop. I grew up playing my mother's and father's music. And love the sound later as a teenager my friend and our boyfriends would stand on the corner and seeing like they did in the 50s. Today I found Cousin Brucie back on the radio from New York City and he is renewed my old love of doo-wop

A revised version of the Flamingos is touring the country, now a quartet. Saw them as a trio in Laughlin years ago; leader was 74 and still singing like a champ; their hits collection is really fantastic. Nobody in the audience under 40.
i'm 77 and from philly- jerry blavat was the best dj and i went to his dances for 64 years - he passed a year ago. he introduced my generation to all these great songs - i and my friends are still dancing to them - what great memories

Best music of all,50's and 60's they knew how to make good music, and some 70's too, here it is 2022 and I'm still listening to it and love it.
PJ DooWop gave me my first introduction to doo wop music. Personally, I think it's the best site to discover some truly beautiful music from a fascinating, colorful era of American music..

Music back then was real music from the heart.The lyrics spoke of love.And it showed that the writers thought women were special.They actually cared.And knew how to treat a woman.The music is different today.

I am with you Jerry. Last night I was listening to a DVD I recorded of TJ's Doo Wop Gold show on Sirius back in 2007. I made about 50 DVDs plus I recorded many of Cool Bobby B Doo Wop show on Siruis/XM when I had it on Dish which I don't have any more. I love that song "Lost In The 50s" by Ronnie Milsap.
My husband and I listen to doowop every night. No way will be moving on. We are lost in the 50's and never will leave it.
@@ladydoowoplover we grew up together, never dating or dancing with each other until 2 years ago, both age 76, and enjoying life as best we can, trying to make up for all that lost time. This music helps, and solidifyies our love for each other. Pat

Even after being a DJ for a good few years with a Doo Wop show and making it a habit to "borrow" my older brother's records as I was growing up you have blown me away with some of these songs!! Where have they been all my life?!?

PJ, great, just great...I am so glad I grew up in the Doo-Wop era near NYC....I was in JHS when Sillouettes was on the radio. The Labels are interesting, so very nice to see "Made in U.S.A." on many of them. Thank you for uploading these rare gems.

Started listening to duets in 1955 teenagers clef tones. Saw my first show 1958 Brooklyn Foxworthy power mode long time ago I don’t remember which one. I’ve never stop listening and I never will

I'm a big Doo-Wop fan from England. I am only 38, but i just love this music. If only i was there to have witnessed this music back in those day's. I got in to Dop-Wop, after being introduced to rock 'n' roll, ended up loving Doo-Wop even more! Sir, you have a wonderful collection and i must come out there one day, to experience a live Doo-Wop show. I love most form's of American music, but Doo-Wop is my all time favourite!
Neal Lucas Mine, too, Neal. And although I'm American, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle) where garage rock dominated during the days of doo-wop elsewhere in the country. I had to seek it out on whatever faint R&B stations I could connect with. I credit the Heartbeats' "A Thousand Miles Away" for introducing me to this fabulous music in 1956 when I was 10 years old. I've never stopped seeking it out since then. Really nice to know that younger people like you have discovered and appreciate it, too.

I agree with you, im 17 years old and ive never felt this way about music before. All my friends say to me " why you playing that music its older than what you are?" So i turn around and say "boyo you dont know what real music". Wish i grew up in 50s America

Enjoyed them all; thought Sam Cooke's song and the Miracles kind of "turned the corner" to a different era. But, I did feel that "You Can Depend on Me." and the Miracles "Bad Girl" always had a strong Doo Wop Sound. Good tunes. I'll be back to hear some others from you great collection.
