I notice with the Asus it looks better with the HDR off on some games. some games you get like a black halo around objects on certain games but the picture still looks pretty damn good! smooth gameplay haven't notice any lag and such yet. I've had it for about a week or so.
I just copped the LG27GP950 so I'm going to return the Samsung g70a next week. I calibrated it and it looks great but it was always my second choice compared to the LG.
I noticed that with the ASUS monitor, If you go from PS5 to PC, It doesn't recognize the signal and just turns off. I've tested it on multiple units, Apparently it's a common issue with all the new monitors they released. I'm leaning more toward the G7 but I really like the fact that Asus included 4 HDMI ports, I would never have to unplug anything. I also noticed that Samsung made it really difficult to plug in the cables in the back, It has a weird bump that gets in the way. Overall it seems like the Asus monitor has more positive reviews from users but both are very similar. I'm curious if both were the same price which one would you choose?
If I didn't need the extra HDMI probably the G7 for the RGB, but I'm considering getting a Mac Mini so those extra ports would make a lot of sense, someone needs to release a 32" monitor with 4 HDMI
@@razial5745 Yeah I ended up returning 3 of those displays because every single one I got had dead pixels or really bad backlight bleed. One of them even had an issue with the local dimming. I went with the LG 32GQ950, It's more expensive but much better than either of these, If you're ok with 32 inches. The LG monitor is definitely more expensive, but for me it was worth it. The Asus VG28U is still a good choice though, I just wanted a 32 inch display, Which is why I never got it.

Hello. I know that so many people ask you some questions and you answer all of them. I don't want to take your time but I searched one thing about this Samsung monitor for literally hours and I can't find the answer, so I'd really appreciate it if you can help me. Only DP 1.4 cable coming with this monitor, HDMI cable not included. At least for my country. But seems HDMI 2.1 has better bandwith, on the paper. Which one should I use? Is DP 1.4 cable enough for 4K 144hz 10bit HDR etc. Meaning DP is enough to use all of the features in the same time? Or should I buy HDMI 2.1 cable for it? I'll use the monitor with PC(3070Ti), I don't have console. Thank you so much
Just about a couple hours before you released this, I picked up the VG28U on Amazon. I wasn't fully aware of the G70A, but I went with the ASUS for the multiple HDMI ports, It's design, lack of negative reviews (From what I can find.) and it's availability. Glad to see that despite the deal I'm missing out on, that their similar in comparison and there's a alternative if it doesn't work out.

The Samsung has a 8 bit panel, I just believe in post 2015/2016 it's just unacceptable, all other variants of the Innolux or AUO variants are 10 bit. Meaning the Asus will be able to get 10 bit colour and HDR over HDMI 2.1 with the full 48gbps. the Samsung has a 40gbps Hdmi 2.1 which should theoretically support the same, however lack of 10 bit and variable OD is a no brainer for me. Bought the Asus on 30/06. Personal note Asus has been in the monitor game for awhile and their proprietary offerings and colours are good, the variable OD is a must for me.
