I got this monitor for €549 in a Black friday deal this week and it looks absolutely stunning on my ps5. I play a lot of destiny 2 and mw2 and the colours and 4k 120hz performance are outstanding. I tried different other monitors, also 1440p VA panels but nothing close to this marvellous G70A.!
I played The Last of Us part 1 and 2 and Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Director's Cut and those games looked so amazing with this monitor. I also have the G9 and G7 32" on my PC and I can say, I've become a Samsung monitors fan.
I have a question regarding my new gaming monitor. I've been a console player for a very long time (PS5 at the moment). Last week I finally decided to switch from my 55inch 4k Samsung TV to a gaming monitor, so I bought myself the MSI optix mag274qrf-qd for €450. I've done some research and found out this was a really good choice for a 1440p, 165hz monitor. I'm sure you know it better than I do. Since PS5 finally added native 1440p support, I thought this was the perfect time to buy such monitor. I've played some FPS games, and must say the 120 hz that I can reach with this monitor is superb compared to the 60hz I was getting with my TV, especially when it comes to smoothness. However.. As smooth as the 1440p at 120hz is, I must say that I do miss the stunning graphics I'm used to at 4k resolution a bit. For a fast FPS game, this current monitor is perfect. But thinking about potential future open world games, I'm quite positive it will lack in graphics. For that reason, I'm thinking about upgrading towards a 4k monitor. This is why I contacted you. I've seen some of your videos, and you really know your stuff! 😁 Hence this message. What 4k 120hz monitor would you recommend for my PS5? I understand it must have HDMI 2.1 to get 4k at 120hz at the same time. Ofcourse I don't want to be spending tons of money on a monitor, therefore €600-700 is my budget. In the same shop I bought my current monitor they sell the following 2 in discount: 1) MSI optix MAG281URF = €649, down from €699 2) SAMSUNG odyssey G70A UHD = €599, down from €699 Which would you recommend out of these two monitors, or do you prefer something else? OR do you think the best option is to just keep my current monitor for fast paced FPS games, and TV for relaxed gaming. Once again a huge thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope to hear from you soon! Kind regards
Just sold my one year old Dell S2721DGFA and took delivery of this Samsung g70a S28 but I'm finding it hard to get the best settings for the Xbox Series X, any advice or help would be much appreciated.

AV eliminates the early rumor that the G70A doesn't do 4k 120hz on the PS5. Meaning, the hdcp syncs up with the monitor and PS5 to allow it. There may have been a firmware or system update since then though.
Thanks for this video! I bought this screen this week with the PS5. Now I was wondering what settings should I use on the PS5 and what settings should I use on the G70A? I play only Warzone 2.0 Greetings :)
I have the settings for the monitor in the video description or on a pinned comment. It is out there on my page in a few areas I believe. As for the PS5, the settings are pretty standard. Just remember to keep HDR off 98% of the time.
I'm really tempted to give this monitor another try. I had gone through 2 replacements because they all arrived fine but had stuck pixels show up hours later. I'm just worried it'll happen again if I decide to buy one.

Would Adaptive Sync off & or VRR off offer less input lag in SDR for FPS GAMES? ALSO why do you prefer AV over PC for PS5? I always thought PC was Best on all consoles? Thanks to your video mine arrives tomorrow :)
I think I got this right. When you show the settings on your Xbox, that is the settings you’d recommend to have while playing? And then in the description is the monitor settings correct?
I just used the same settings that are in the video description. I have since switched monitors to the LG GQ950 since I have recently reviewed that one.
great great video man. Please upgrade videos to 4k camera and res. I also had a Q so I just go this monitor based on your video and for ps5 using the hdmi port I can get 4k 120 right? The input type I set it to PC signal instead of AV.
Correct! You can absolutely get 4k 120hz no problem. It even offers VRR for the PS5 now which is nice. So all good things. Thanks for the input btw! It's a space thing rather than equipment for 4k 😂. It takes up so much disc space!
@@BainCustom I think these days for youtubers 4k is a must and 1080 p is outdated. You have a wonderful setup and you a ver professional and a good quality video will make it just perfect👍
According to Reddit (as of 4/26/22), this monitor is supposed to work with PS5's newly enabled HDMI 2.1 VRR update. This is supposed to work when the monitor has FreeSync Premium turned on and is assigned to PC input even though the PS5 doesn't technically support AMD Freesync VRR, but uses HDMI Forum VRR via HDMI 2.1. I am deciding between this and the LG 27GP950, which is also supposed to work, but at $629 vs $899 I am leaning toward this monitor. It would make for some good content if you did a new video on some of the monitors that are compatible with PS5's VRR implementation.
😮 yeah that sounds like a fantastic idea. I am adding that to the list right now and may be a reason to snag a gp950 or maybe a new version, whatever it 3nds up being (or if). I appreciate the input, very solid 👊
Should we use VRR or FreeSync if we play in SDR instead of HDR for Lowest Input Lag like FPS Games? Or turn them off...this Monitor I ordered arrives today
Hey TechCessory, This is a great video and I'm strongly considering the G7A and wanted your input on how is the response and 120hz on PS5? Have you updated the firmware on the monitor and experienced anything better or worse? Please let me know thank you!
I'm pretty late but I can list two major problems. Bad IPS Glow on dark areas and regular audio screeches with speakers connected to the monitor while using displayport. I mitigated both by lowering brightness to minimum and by using an audio mixer and a sound card for my displayport device. So I can live with it but I would not buy a Samsung monitor again.
hi bro, i just bought it like a week ago and i'm just waiting to receive it, i got a question. What would you prefer for gaming, hdr on or off? i've heard that hdr 400 is shit, but i would like to see your opinion, thanks.
I personally don’t see much of a difference. If u have hdr on, then it locks out the black stabilizer feature. And HDR seems to darken the the screen and makes it hard to spot players in dark areas in multiplayer games. That’s why I personally leave hdr off so that I can use black stabilizer to lighten up dark areas. Edit: he basically explains it at 18:14 . But imo it applies to games as well, not just videos.
So I’m looking to get a new monitor for my XBXSeries. I play call of duty multiplayer and war zone competitively and play fortnite competitively as well. What monitor would be the best for me to get I’ve been looking at your videos lately and I just want to get pointed towards the right direction. As of right now I play on AlienWare 1080p so I want to be able to upgrade get the most out the series X.
Haven’t watch this video yet but pls hope it’s good I watch your other videos you convinced me to get g70a Samsung Haven’t yet tested the monitor I’m overseas right now g70a is waiting for me. Pls do more g70a for console
I bought the g70a a few weeks ago for a good price. After I had to send the monitor back because of dead pixels and fortunately a replacement device was sent to me, I unfortunately found that there was enormous backlight bleeding in the lower left area, which looks terrible, especially with a dark background. Don't know what to do now?!
Yeah, I would send it back. Maybe find something different. It sucks when that sort of thing happens. Fortunately I did not experience those two issues. I have heard of other having them though. I do get backlight bleed, but only if my screen is black, and there is no way to calibrate it out. Maybe check out the Gigabyte M28U, the newer Acer Predator 4k monitor or the GP950?
Hi, and firstable thank you for your video... It helped me a lot to choose that Screen... But I'm still confused about VRR on AV Mode for PS5, I'm playing with that screen in Warzone on PS5 and the firmware -1008.1. You say that is better to stay in AV Mode for PS5 but I can't activate VRR on my PS5's menu when I'm on AV Mode... My PS5 only accept to activate VRR when the screen is on PC Mode... Also, when I'm on AV Mode, Adaptive-Sync is in grey and I can not put it On or Off... If I put in PC Mode, VRR is OK but I can't change the Response time to Faster when the Adaptive-Sync is ON... So I'm still little bit confused about how to really activate all the best feature for Warzone on PS5... Am I doing something wrong? Additional question: On PS5's Menu do I have to active also the VRR for the game who are not compatible with VRR technology (As Warzone)? Thanks a lot
I'm thinking of purchasing this monitor for my xbox series x. Right now it is listed for $599.99 instead of $799.99. Just need to research a little bit more before making a decision. Good review
I've had mine for awhile now (considering if it's the 28" variant) and I love it. It has a lot of neat features and I've played my PS3, 4, and 5 on it with no complaints. I was going to get the new Sony monitor, but considering it's more expensive and I honestly hate white (unless it's like a grey white in person like the PS5 please let me know). I still need to update mine, but I can't remember how to do it 😅. Over all I do recommend it :). I mostly play with headphones, but I don't know if there are any Sony or Samsing branded monitors/speakers that would work with this.
The Sony monitor is the same white as the PS5. Very futuristic looking. It gets mixed reviews, but overall is a good monitor. They also make headphones that match the PS5 and monitor. The headphones would wirelessly connect to the PS5, so it would work with any monitor.
Sorry to bug I’ve watch your video and I bought the Samsung G7 as I play Golf ⛳️ sims and watch tv 📺 any chance you could give me the best settings as I’m old boy who hasn’t a clue lol 😂 great channel honest and down to earth 🌍 thank you so much JJ London uk
Would you recommend just the g7 without the 4K? Can’t get the 4K model bc it’s completely out of stock at the moment. I already have a 46 inch 4K tv I play my ps5 with but was thinking about getting the 1440 model of this monitor for some fps games on ps5 and also some pc gaming in the future
Just bought this monitor today. I was not lucky like some of y’all. I payed 865 after taxes at Best Buy. My question is. I have my Xbox series X settings at 4K 120HZ but the monitor says it’s running at 144hz. Is that posible? Also what’s the best settings to play online?
I wish there was an FPS counter on this monitor. It would help to tell what is actually being received. The monitor may show that it is capable of 144hz, but through an XSX is only receiving 120.
Hi, quick question, i am planning to grab this monitor to go with my xbox Series X. Now my concern is that will it detect the xbox once the hdmi cable is plugged in or i need to go in the options or something as it has its own build in os..tnx again
me too it's already ordered (to reserve stock) but on hold till I get paid. plan to use with Xbox series X although my only concern is the HDR performance. I'm a huge fan of HDR content but I also want that high refresh rate. LG OLED would blow my breath away with HDR but being a TV it won't outperform this monitor in terms of refresh rate which is crucial for competitive gaming. I've looked into other monitors but this one, by far, seems the best value for money. I also plan to use it for streaming video (netflix, Disney, etc) in my bedroom. but its main purpose obviously will be gaming in 4K 120 on my Series X.
If it says low input lag on but greyed out on the top of the menu does that still mean it’s on low input lag. Also, does this monitor have 8 or 10 bit color depth. Thanks for your help.
@@BainCustom I recently switched from pc to a series x and bought the odyssey g70a to have the 4K and 120hz gaming experience. Got it on sell at best buy for 600. I love this monitor and especially for the price. Thanks for the reply!
I heard there was a fix to that issue. and I am sure you figured it out by now, but for those looking at this comment with the same question. Yes you had to on launch day.
hey guys! i play on console and my favourite games are call of duty, battlefield and some tatical shooters like ghost recon. and my question is: does worth spend the money on a hdmi 2.1 monitor or 2k monitors do the job for less money? thanks in advance!
That really depends. I have had amazing experiences on 1440p monitors. But some games aren't really optimized for 1440p, so you are basically limited to 1080p anyways...so why not just get a good 1080p monitor? But the extra DPI and usually better tech can make up for it. With 4K you will for sure get the max potential and compatibility, which is where I think it comes in handy. For a game like Ghost Recon it would probably be really nice!
@@BainCustom So in practical terms the fact that Xbox can achieve 1440p resolutions is "useless"? It's better to buy a 1080p monitor or save more money for an hdmi 2.1, right?
You can. It is not a requirement on Xbox for 120hz. But I have had quite a few comments of people doing that, as well as changing the color range in the Xbox menu to PC RGB.
Hello, my monitor is currently the Odyssey G7, 28 inches which broadcasts 4K 120hz thanks to its hdmi 2.1 for my ps5. But this monitor does not have a speaker, so no sound I would like to know if I can connect a speaker to it? If yes is "LG UltraGear GP9" compatible with? Thanks in advance
There is a 3.5mm headphones or "sound output" jack on the back. So yes you could use a speaker with the monitor. You could also use wireless or wired headphones to the PS5 which would probably give a better sound profile anyways. But either would work.
Im playing Warfare 2 in ps5 with this monitor, and when 120hz is on, the resolution goes a bit lower, is that normal or should this look exactly the same like when It runs at 60hz? Because at 60hz looks better
Yeah technically some graphic settings are changed, settings you can't see, in order for the game to perform better at 120hz and 4K. DSC is probably the main technology.
I've just buy one, will test it the next days Looking forward like a child Didn't played much the last years Fun fact : bought this monitor, asked random for a ps5 and got one lel
I did not have to turn off HDR. How do you know you are limited to 60fps? There is a chance the monitor will auto switch when the game is compatible with 120hz mode and when you checked it was in a menu or game that is limited to 60hz?
Your controller is what is going to be what limits your input lag. Higher fps typically helps the process of input lag due to their intrinsic nature. But it won't solve for the controller.
Hi, i enjoyed the video, thanks very much. I have this monitor last week , i use it only for ps 5. It came with Firmware 1.006 . With the new ps5 Update and firmware 1.006, it detect 120hz with no problem. My cons are, the limitation setting to adjust color and setting with HDR on and adaptive sync On. Plus The Hdr not so Good. So Can please share your color setting with Hdr On and Hdr Off. Coz i think it'll help a lot of people :) . Thanks
@@BainCustom i cannot find the 1006 firmware, but I think all the new batch come default with this firmware. But i do find the 1008 firmware from Reddit, there's a user there tried that firmware and he said its great. He downloaded it from Samsung Korea site.
I just got the Dell G3223Q and it works really well with Consoles. I've been on a search for a good 32 inch 4k monitor with HDMI 2.1 and all of them have had issues, Including this one. The Dell monitor is the only one that's worked really well for me so far. It is definitely pricey though, In the US it costs $1,099.
@@swa99a10 I went through 4 replacements of the Samsung monitor with all of them having stuck pixels and backlight bleed. One of them even had an issue with the dynamic diming feature that was causing flickering and wouldn't turn off unless I turned off the monitor and back on again. The MSI Optix was way too bright at night, Which is when I do most of my gaming, so that was a deal breaker. The BenQ monitor had too much backlight bleed and IPS glow, I tried multiple replacements and the result was the same. I didn't even bother trying the M32U because I heard some people had issues with coil whine and wasn't willing to take the risk.
Yeah, you do get what you pay for. In a perfect world, give me an OLED panel with 144hz, G-sync and 800 nits of brightness. That is the last panel I would ever need...well at least for a while 🤣
@@BainCustom Agreed, I still loved the monitor, Just kept trying to get a good panel but somehow kept getting a worse one every time. I'm really looking forward to the LG 32GQ950 that's supposed to come out later this year.
Should you turn on adaptive sync for VRR? With the ps5 VRR will it support 120hz mode in pc mode with VRR now? At this time you have to select av mode to get 120 hz
The easiest way is to hook up a speaker through the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the monitor. Unfortunately PlayStation doesn't have an output for sound other than USB for headphones. Technically there are some speakers that will take that usb, but I'm unsure if the PlayStation will read the speaker type.
Definitely keep the firmware that you have. The 1004.2 will be a downgrade for you. Unfortunately Samsung has an updated their website with the latest firmware shipping on new devices yet.
What's your calibration settings? HDR and SDR. I'm having issues calibrating mine..I would love to play HDR even if it's not the most premium way. Please help. Using the Series S.
I hate to say it but hdr isn’t great sadly, use the dynamic setting for colour pop, or the muted standard mode for accuracy. Tbh the monitor is better at sdr.
I'll post them up soon. I agree though HDR is a bit rough from game to game. Some it's fantastic, others it sucks. Test it out, get your own feel for it though. I'll post the settings up on the video description soon.
@@shuckylad It has been really good to me in SDR, but I've seen it calibrated to do HDR. I would like to at least try. This is my second HDR monitor and I just want to see if I can at least get it to work on a few choice titles
I had this monitor for two weeks. To many quirks that I couldn’t get used to so I sent it back. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good monitor, playing my series x (cod)at 4k 120 was a truly great experience. But the ps5 av mode stuttering and the audio glitch on pc via display port ruined it for me. Also the ghosting trails of which I’m sensitive to and none aware input switching while coming from standby was the final straw for me. So I Brought an Lg 27gp850 (1440p) to try at half the price instead. Much better all round with none of the issues the Samsung unfortunately had for me.
I have definitely heard these issues and experienced some myself. Oddly enough I was able to get around a lot of the issues after messing with a few settings. The only one now is the occasional black flicker. I'm determined to find a fix or wait for an update since it has been solid in every other area. Great choice on the LG though, it's a very solid monitor for all of the above.
Im between this monitor and the asus 28uql1a…this monitor will be primarily used for ps5 games such as call of duty, battlefield 5, dead by daylight…please help im lost
Yeah I can definitely be a big undertaking decising between the 4K monitors. You have two good pics at hand, so I wouldn't get too bogged down in the decision making. I haven't tested the Asus, so I lean towards the Samsung because I have tested it and very much like it. That is what I would tell you to get, because that is what I know is good.
There are two things that i have question on that i would very much appreciate if someone would take the time to respond. First I'm wondering if there is supposed to be a way to scale the resolution down to 1440p on pc, since i noticed that i am only given the options of 1080p, 4k, or some other wacky resolutions, but i am not given a 1440p option. Secondly i am wondering why 1080p looks really blurry on this monitor as opposed to a monitor with a native resolution of 1080p, and if this effects things like UA-cam videos that are in 1080p.
There are so many answers to those questions. For the resolution, while playing a game, you should have the option to choose 1080, 1440 or 2160. If 1080p looks blurry then I would first check the source material/game and make sure the settings and actual output are at a high quality. Resolution is only one part of the equation that makes a good picture. Be sure everything else is set properly, because the resolution alone should look fine.
I bought this monitor yesterday for my Xbox Series X. I am able to set up 4K UHD @120fps, but for some reason the VRR option is greyed out. The monitor turns off every time I open a game, regardless of the game. Does this happen for anyone else or does anyone have a solution?
Hey everyone, quick question as I'm using this with my Xbox SX do I need to leave it in pc or change to AV? I'll add atm I'm according to the info on screen it states I'm getting 4k 120hz HDR ,FREESYNC prem on.
For the xbox, it didn't really matter which mode I was in. It is specifically for the PlayStation 5 that it needs to be in one or the other, I forget at the moment.
@@BainCustom oh I see thanks for the reply, I just wasn't sure if I needed to change it to av or leave it on pc ( it's not conn to a pc ) purely used with the XSX
I don't think there's an actual update up on the Samsung website yet. They do have a 1006 firmware, but it's not available to the public as far as I'm away. If the menus are locked down it's probably because the variable sync is on, turn that off and it should unlock the menu.
Would be interesting to see how you set this up with PS5, and settings on both the console and the monitor..if i turn on the VRR in PS5 menu the option for response time on monitor menu disappears
That makes sense. I have seen that happen on many monitors on console. You may be able to set the overdrive and once vrr is on, it will be locked into that setting.
Turn contrast down and use in a darker room...doesn't have to be a dungeon but I think most people who are running around with a sniper in warzone are probably playing in a cavern
On a console? For the Series X and PS5 you will get native 4k 120hz on supported games. For the series s, you will get an upscaled 1440p to 4k 120hz. But yes HDMI 2.1 allows that to happen.
Thats a 1440p monitor, so im assuming youre talking about the Series S and youd be right. If you're talking about the PS5 then no cause thats a 4k console getting downgraded to 1080p
I have an issue with the g70a. Firstly, with the display port, pc keeps disconnecting and connecting, no issue with hdmi. I have checked online and others also had an issus with rtx cards. Second issue is if i shutdown my pc then put on my ps5, the monitor will not autoswitch, need to do this manually. Autoswitch works if pc is on. Anyone else have these issues?
I have experienced similar issues. the DP 1.2 does work for a solution, but only while not gaming. I also put the input type on AV instead of PC, that seemed to help. The autoswitch, maybe try turning on the HDMI CEC on the xbox and monitor. Either one is not receiving that signal or sending it.
You talking about a monitor mount? Yeah, I believe it is 100mm x 100mm either that or 75mm x 75mm. Which should work on the same mount. Samsung includes a bracket for mounting.

In the same shop I bought my current monitor they sell the following 2 in discount:
1) MSI optix MAG281URF = €649, down from €699
2) SAMSUNG odyssey G70A UHD = €599, down from €699
Which would you recommend out of these two monitors, or do you prefer something else? OR do you think the best option is to just keep my current monitor for fast paced FPS games, and TV for relaxed gaming.
Once again a huge thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Kind regards
Got one yesterday!!! Can’t wait till it comes in the mail
Take your time setting it up, be sure to update the firmware if it is old. Then go to town! Enjoy my friend and I will catch you on the next one!

@@kylerussell6 I'm using these settings at the moment and so far this is the best picture I've had, playing Call of duty MW.

@Simon Ambler hi why switch pc to av bro just curious I have the same monitor on ps5 thanks
AV eliminates the early rumor that the G70A doesn't do 4k 120hz on the PS5. Meaning, the hdcp syncs up with the monitor and PS5 to allow it. There may have been a firmware or system update since then though.
Yeah there is an update firmware which is 1008.1 when I bought my monitor 1 week ago it came with it
I got this Monitor for 4k Gaming (573€), it is awesome 🙋🏽♂️👍

Thanks for this video! I bought this screen this week with the PS5. Now I was wondering what settings should I use on the PS5 and what settings should I use on the G70A?
I play only Warzone 2.0

I have the settings for the monitor in the video description or on a pinned comment. It is out there on my page in a few areas I believe. As for the PS5, the settings are pretty standard. Just remember to keep HDR off 98% of the time.
Goat intro!!
New editor wanted to keep it in lol.
I'm really tempted to give this monitor another try. I had gone through 2 replacements because they all arrived fine but had stuck pixels show up hours later. I'm just worried it'll happen again if I decide to buy one.
Was it a stuck pixel or dead pixel? I hear you though, what if you get a 3rd with a bad pixel! Whatever you decide, good luck!
@@BainCustom It was definitely a stuck pixel. Yeah no matter what company you choose they all have quality control issues. It's all just a matter of luck.
I also have the pixel problem. A few minutes after i start playing the games, the pixels are falling like snow.

Would Adaptive Sync off & or VRR off offer less input lag in SDR for FPS GAMES? ALSO why do you prefer AV over PC for PS5? I always thought PC was Best on all consoles? Thanks to your video mine arrives tomorrow :)
Had mine for a few months and I love it
That is good to hear. I will totally agree with that statement.
How's the 4K 120 Hz on the PS5 going?
I think I got this right. When you show the settings on your Xbox, that is the settings you’d recommend to have while playing? And then in the description is the monitor settings correct?
Pretty much. I use both of those all day long on this monitor.
Hello friend , nice video . I would like to ask you what are the best settings for wz2 on ps5? Thanks for the content

Hey TechCessory,
This is a great video and I'm strongly considering the G7A and wanted your input on how is the response and 120hz on PS5? Have you updated the firmware on the monitor and experienced anything better or worse? Please let me know thank you!
I'm pretty late but I can list two major problems. Bad IPS Glow on dark areas and regular audio screeches with speakers connected to the monitor while using displayport. I mitigated both by lowering brightness to minimum and by using an audio mixer and a sound card for my displayport device. So I can live with it but I would not buy a Samsung monitor again.
I just bought this monitor for $450. I'm hyped.
Deals! Was that brand new?
hi bro, i just bought it like a week ago and i'm just waiting to receive it, i got a question.
Is the brightness of the monitor sufficient for everyday use??? 🤔
awesome vid, thanks!
For sure! thanks for watching
Haven’t watch this video yet but pls hope it’s good I watch your other videos you convinced me to get g70a Samsung
Haven’t yet tested the monitor I’m overseas right now g70a is waiting for me.
Pls do more g70a for console
Tell me how you like it! Thanks for the support too!
glad you stayed with it..this monitor on pc is one of the best I've seen..stunning!!!
Couldn't agree more. Can't wait to test out a few more similar models, there seems to be some new stuff hitting the market now and very soon.
Broooo i had the same dead pixel issue
Good review
i feel like the $800 is exaggerated but i was thinking of buying at $609 myself
Did u end up buying ?
No I didn't purchase
I’m thinking of getting this. Have you purchased yet?
@dguggs No I haven't.
@@BainCustom what about Sony/Samsung speakers 🤔?

Would you recommend just the g7 without the 4K? Can’t get the 4K model bc it’s completely out of stock at the moment. I already have a 46 inch 4K tv I play my ps5 with but was thinking about getting the 1440 model of this monitor for some fps games on ps5 and also some pc gaming in the future
Last time I checked ps5 doesn’t support 1440

Which monitor to choose samsung odyssey g7 28 ls28 or hp omen 27u 4k? the price is quite close. I want a universal monitor for my computer and ps5
Samsung all the way. that is my two cents anyways.
I know this vid is old but have you compared it with the lg 27gp950-b?
I am probably going to end up getting a Samsung odyssey g70a at the end of this week as it is on offer at the moment in the uk for £499.00
That is a steal! and a wise choice 👍
me too it's already ordered (to reserve stock) but on hold till I get paid. plan to use with Xbox series X although my only concern is the HDR performance.
So do I have to change the setting to AV or to PC when using a PS5.
In video you said PC for PS5 but in the description it says AV for PS5 😳😁
AV is the correct one I believe. Now I am confused 😅
@@BainCustom 😂🎉
Are you using a HDMI to DisplayPort active adapter?
No. Just HDMI. Is there now a display port that will support 4k 120?
If it says low input lag on but greyed out on the top of the menu does that still mean it’s on low input lag. Also, does this monitor have 8 or 10 bit color depth. Thanks for your help.
With Adaptive Sync on, it will lock in the settings you have on or off when turned on. Meaning the greyed out options are on and working.

hey guys!
i play on console and my favourite games are call of duty, battlefield and some tatical shooters like ghost recon. and my question is: does worth spend the money on a hdmi 2.1 monitor or 2k monitors do the job for less money?
thanks in advance!

The low input lag on the monitor should show as on. But you can leave the refresh rate at 144hz, Xbox will auto detect.

Because at 60hz looks better
run it on 1440p, it’s most likely an issue that will be fixed in upcoming updates
Yeah technically some graphic settings are changed, settings you can't see, in order for the game to perform better at 120hz and 4K. DSC is probably the main technology.

You mention you have to set the monitor on PC mode when gaming on PS5. Unfortunately this limits me to 60 FPS. Do you know what to do?
Turn off hdr. You don’t need it. Gives you more options on your monitor
I did not have to turn off HDR. How do you know you are limited to 60fps? There is a chance the monitor will auto switch when the game is compatible with 120hz mode and when you checked it was in a menu or game that is limited to 60hz?
Why av Mode?
Playing on series x should I use 1440p or 4k for lowest input lag ?
Your controller is what is going to be what limits your input lag. Higher fps typically helps the process of input lag due to their intrinsic nature. But it won't solve for the controller.

The Dell monitor is the only one that's worked really well for me so far. It is definitely pricey though, In the US it costs $1,099.
What were the issues if don't mind me asking
@@swa99a10 I went through 4 replacements of the Samsung monitor with all of them having stuck pixels and backlight bleed. One of them even had an issue with the dynamic diming feature that was causing flickering and wouldn't turn off unless I turned off the monitor and back on again. The MSI Optix was way too bright at night, Which is when I do most of my gaming, so that was a deal breaker. The BenQ monitor had too much backlight bleed and IPS glow, I tried multiple replacements and the result was the same. What is the best way to hook up external speakers if you are using this monitor with ps5?
The easiest way is to hook up a speaker through the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the monitor. Unfortunately PlayStation doesn't have an output for sound other than USB for headphones. Technically there are some speakers that will take that usb, but I'm unsure if the PlayStation will read the speaker type.

Be sure everything else is set properly, because the resolution alone should look fine.
is this the G700 ?does it just have different codes for different countries ?
For sure. Your looking for a 2021-22 model that is IPS, 4K, 144hz and HDMI 2.1. Those would definitely be the same if that info lines up.
how it performs 2k on PC? i heared 4k monitor usually look blurry in 2k...
I have played 1080p and it is totally fine. It didn't seem to affect the performance.
Does the Monitor support VRR on PS5? I couldn't get it work...
It does indeed. You will need to make sure that the vrr is turned on through the PS5. Also make sure that everything is updated.
Got to ask this or the gigabyte m32. 1440p or lg 838b. For series x
M32Q I think personally. But an argument could be made for either.
I would recommend black equaliser 8 or 9, you lose too much detail at 13
Good input for sure! I can attest that 8-9 is solid. I do change the black equalizer for different games.
I can't fully decide which monitor to buy. so I ordered both g7 and g5 to compare. I'll be using the xbox series x
What did you end up sticking with?
I bought this monitor yesterday for my Xbox Series X. I am able to set up 4K UHD @120fps, but for some reason the VRR option is greyed out. The monitor turns off every time I open a game, regardless of the game. Does this happen for anyone else or does anyone have a solution?
How do you boost the sound from the remote?
Yes!!!
Agreed!
Hey teck
So got this monitor my firmware is 1005.2
Do I need to update it still seems lock on somethings
I don't think there's an actual update up on the Samsung website yet. They do have a 1006 firmware, but it's not available to the public as far as I'm away. If the menus are locked down it's probably because the variable sync is on, turn that off and it should unlock the menu.
Hi i have this Monitor, is there a way to connect Headset that can work on xbox series x?
It has a headphone jack. But you can just connect straight to the PS5.
Do y’all keep the plastic on the front
I Just bought one and looks like its running 60fps with mi xbox series x i donno what in doing wrong... Someone could help me?
ua-cam.com/video/hAGALLZbiPw/v-deo.html - This is old but it gives a good breakdown of the xbox menus. It should help
@@BainCustom playing with hdr and vrr on vanguard and seems to be working fine..wish i could see more details though..like current fps etc
Turn contrast down and use in a darker room...doesn't have to be a dungeon but I think most people who are running around with a sniper in warzone are probably playing in a cavern
lol. Why not.
IF I get the Samsung g7 28 inch with 4K hdmi 2.1 and 120 hz can I play games 4K and 120 fps?
On a console? For the Series X and PS5 you will get native 4k 120hz on supported games. For the series s, you will get an upscaled 1440p to 4k 120hz. But yes HDMI 2.1 allows that to happen.
@@BainCustom thank you so much
Is this a Neo G7 or is that different ?
This is not the neo g7. I will be doing that review very soon. Subscribe so you see it.
Ok so the G70A or M28U for the Xbox Series X?
Tough call, what games do you play and do you have a PC?
@@BainCustom been trying to narrow it down for a month now haha. no PC and mainly play Warzone and Other FPS.
I have the 32" Odyssey G5 for that console, it's the ideal one already in 2k, I think that's enough.
Thats a 1440p monitor, so im assuming youre talking about the Series S and youd be right. If you're talking about the PS5 then no cause thats a 4k console getting downgraded to 1080p
There is always a limit to everyone's needs. The G5 is good too. For PS5 I really do think 4k pays off.
Can you do the MSI Optix mag281urf?
It's on the list now! Thanks for the advice!
@@BainCustom Thanks. I have a ps5 and pc also does not auto wake.
Does this monitor support ALLM ?
It doesn't really need to. It has a much lower response rate and input lag than 99% of TV's do. So there isn't a point to have it on.
Bro 😎 can you use 100 by 100 monitor are as I’m old School many thx JJ across the pond London 👍
You talking about a monitor mount? Yeah, I believe it is 100mm x 100mm either that or 75mm x 75mm. Which should work on the same mount. Samsung includes a bracket for mounting.
