Excellent video and solid info. Placement of brood frames on shared wall is smart early season

Early season is tough on those little colonies. Every little bit helps.

Great video Justin. Thank you for sharing. We'll have to start our own queen castle up here this season ! I've never done that before.

What do you do with frames with honey, polin, and a few dead bees. From dead outs.🤔

Depends on the time of year. In the winter I just stack them up. Summer time, you have about two weeks before they start getting damaged when they have honey or pollen in them. If you’re just talking about a few, you can freeze them. If it’s several, you can stack them on a “pack hive” or you’ll have to use a sealed container and use some sort of repellant or fumigant.

Great video. A question if I was to find a frame with a swarm cell on the bottom of the frame do I just leave that cell on the bottom and put that frame in my queen builder box or do I cut that cell off the bottom and reinstall it near the top somewhere near the brood so it will be easier for the bees to keep it warmer Reason I ask is I just done some and I did them like a walk away and I kept them on the bottom because I did not think it mattered after I moved the frame to the builder . I had never heard anyone ask this question so I thought I would be the one to ask it . Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. You can leave the cell in place as long as you put enough bees to cover the whole frame. Sometimes it’s hard to move those cells without damaging them.
