I don't think they will because the kids have already aged like 3 years since filming this and they will probably outgrow their role before they can film another. Or maybe they will do a timejump and follow them at a later point in life
@thatpenguinn they can just film when they can and see them grow up, they dont need to be little kids for the show to work its the dynamics, they can be a little bit older
Worse ratings than Andor and The Acolyte (actually, Acolyte had some of the best viewership and still got canceled due to budget), so it better be cheap or it's not getting made under the new frugal regime.
No. We live in an era that relies too much on telling too much of the story. One of the genius ideas behind the Amblin 80s abrupt endings is that it lets your imagination do the rest. They understood the assignment.
He reminds me of long John silver from treasure planet, they act friendly to the kid but deceive them for the treasure planet, but he willingly doesn’t want the kid to die
He very much seemed evil to me. He had his pirates open fire on the city, he openly tried to enslave the whole planet, and he did threaten to kill the kids numerous times to get his way. They only stayed alive because people did as he told them to save their kids.
I'm glad they didnt try to redeem Jod in the last episode, he went full mega villain and clearly had been all along. Also glad the pirates all got predictably wiped out by following him, as Brutus was the only thing trying to save them from "Captain Silvo" and they let Jod kill him.
I wouldnt say hes a Mega villain. A Mega villain would have done a lot more. He clearly had no desire to hurt the kids or his parents and had multiple opportunities to do so. Would a Mega villain give a little knowing "Well done" grin to wim at the end and just accept his defeat?
He's a mega villain whose goal was to end starvation and hunger using threats and manipulation. When his bluff was called by innocent people, he flinched and let them win rather than kill them.
The show opened with a central protagonist, Wim, with one particular problem to solve: What was he going to do with his life. At the conclusion, we were given the answer: He's going to try to become a New Republic pilot. This is a youth-oriented story dealing with a youth-oriented problem. It rather reminds me of a young adult novel I read back in the early 60s, "Have Space Suit-Will Travel," which had posed exactly the same problem for its young antagonist. In the course of the novel, the kid winds up saving the galaxy...but it ends with him merely discovering what he was going to do with his life.
given how the new republic fell almost immidiately in the new cannon its gonna be funny seeing him get wiped by the first order (i do not like the new cannon at all)
Good point but it felt like it wasnt fully fleshed out. It's not like he was gushing over the X-Wings on episode 3 and wanted to see them real bad after that engagement. I feel like if one of the pilots landed and spoke to them, it might have been a better ending.
@@jheeettfire3243He hated having his life planned out. Jod destroyed the planner and the barrier opened. His smile was at the test being ended, not so much a specific job. Maybe he doesn't want danger, maybe he wants to be a mechanic. 😂
@kadegetslaid634 The New Republic as a governmental entity got destroyed. Even before that, the feckless New Republic government hamstrung the Navy's ability to protect planets from pirates. As we see in Ahsoka, the New Republic Navy wasn't even permitted "hot pursuit" of pirates caught in the act.

Jude was expensive and this ending allows a clean break where he continues off on his own story off screen or answer questions about his story if ratings allow him to be afforded for more show with him in ot.
Jude Law's rection when his ship went down was amazing, imagine how he would have felt knowing he let everyone of them down. He lost. On the other hand, I completely agree, we need a little more closure at the end, like would the New Republic be shocked finidng out about At Attin.
I would not at all be shocked if Jod's situation was a last-minute change. That there was a wrap-up for Jod shot and planned to be included, but it would've been a more final conclusion for the character... whether prison or whatever, but Jude Law was just so incredibly good as Jod, and he's willing to do more stuff, and the reception to him was strong enough that Disney decided to just cut those scenes to give them more room for Jod to show up in other works set in that period.
