    I enjoy your livescope videos and watching your methodology for catching crappie. Your use of voice over is also a plus in my book, much better than audio from the boat.

      Thanks so much!! Haha, you know I actually decided on staying quiet in the boat and doing the voice over later after I kept ruining microphones with fish splashing water all over them!

      Thank you!! This might be my last crappie video for a while but going after some bass and saltwater stuff very soon!

    That’s awesome! Been the best fall I’ve seen in 15yrs. From mid September until mid December, 12 half day trips I caught right at 800 crappie. Some days it was one right after another.

    I am pretty sure I saw you out there that day. I was in the channel further towards the dam. They were indeed on a good bite that afternoon - think I kept 20. Greatly enjoy your videos.

      Twenty is about what I normally get also before I hit the 7-over-12 limit. Somehow got over a bunch of 10s and 11s on this day. It has been such an awesome year on Darbonne! Ever since early November it's been non-stop catching any time I've been out there!
      Such a great lake!

    Two 👍👍. Great video, sir. It amazes me how clear your screen is. Definitely, you keep my attention. Hook, line, and sinker😊. When I get my LS, it will be LVS 34 with 1022 screen, and I may pick your brain for some starter settings. If you don't mind.

      Absolutely! Hit me up if you run into trouble.
      I just helped two family members get their own setups that are just like mine so the install is still fresh. It's kind of a pain to do, but after you get it set up you won't have to touch it again aside from charging it up!

    I fished out there this past Sunday when it was 25 degrees and absolutely demolished them. They’re still biting in the cold!

      I'm gonna head back out one day soon, but first I've gotta go try to land a few bass out on Caney while they're at their biggest!

    Did you try them yesterday? Monday afternoon.

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  8 місяців тому

      I wish! I haven't been on the water in a month and reeeeally wanting to go. Not too much longer and they'll all be scattering for shallower water (if they're not already!)

    • @JohnCox-r8g
      @JohnCox-r8g 8 місяців тому

      @@HighQualityFishingVideos I believe they have already, most of them anyway. Didn’t catch a fish in main channel yesterday but did catch a few around Stowe Creek bridge.

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  8 місяців тому +1

      @@JohnCox-r8g Sounds like they're already in transition mode! I can usually find them in the mid-depth standing timber between the channels and the bank this time of year. They might not be holding on much of anything yet but constantly moving around from tree to tree. Tough time of year to fish but you can find some giants!

    How were you holding your boat so still

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  8 місяців тому +1

      Hey thanks for watching! I use spot lock on the trolling motor to hold the boat still. If you have spot lock and it's overshooting spots or overadjusting in the wind, you can play with the "boat scale" setting to get it to slow down more. It's not perfect, but I've been super happy with the terrova on my boat!

    What are those marks appearing throughout the video at approx 4 feet deep?

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey, thanks so much for watching! Those are schools of bait fish at that depth in this video. It looks like mostly glass minnows and maybe some gizzard shad.

    What's the length of your rod?

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  7 місяців тому +1

      This is an 8ft ultralight rod, but I can't recommend the brand as I've had both rod tips break off and one snapped in half on me a few weeks ago while casting. But 7ft-8ft is my preferred length for an all-purpose crappie rod.

    What size weight do you use above your jig?

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  7 місяців тому +2

      Hey, thanks for watching and for the question.
      The weight I use above my jig is 1/16th oz for 90% of my trips. I'll sometimes use heavier if I'm fishing super deep water. In the spring spawning months I'll use a lighter weight or sometimes no weight depending on the depth of the fish that I'm targeting.
      Good luck out there!
