- Gi day viewers, a follow up video on the Ham Geek MT8900 manufactured by Motorola or is it? Something tells me its not,100% Genuine fake?
It looks legit enough at first glance so lets dive into this little ripper of a radio for what it costs no matter who made it.
The data cable for programming and firmware updates plugs straight into the RJ mic socket. Cheers great vid
Looks great for the price! Cheap as chips.
I seen it online last night, wondering what it was like.
The K1,2,3 would be your programable buttons.
The tail tone probably is a roger beep.
I wonder if it has Tx spurs.🧐
I have the exact same one but with Abbree branding ... Abbree AR-2520 w/gps ... so I would say it's a mass brand radio and not Motorola or Abbree at all
Agreed Sir.
Why is the scanning slow? Can it be sped up quicker than 5s?
I have a problem, the radio won't work with a black screen, previously it was still working... can anyone provide a solution?
Which ebay store did you get it from, I see a few MT-8900, none are market as Motorola, so I'm guessing its not Motorola?
I tend to agree.
@@vkradio1656 Which store did you buy from, Does yours have airband receive like the ABBREE AR-2520?
2 questions, where does one download the programming software? And, does this radio not display the repeater input frequency when keying the microphone? Any help would be appreciated.
I had to enter frequencies manually. As for the -+ display it changes colour only by memory.
Thanks for watching.
The Abbree version has 2 types, V1 and V2. The version 1 won’t have gps or recording and there will be a SD card slot on the front if it’s the V2. RF power outputs are less than advertised, as with many Chinese made radios, but it does look a tidy little radio. 73
Are you sure that the V2 has the SD card slot and therefore the ability to record? I got one just a couple of days ago on Aliexpress and I hope so, but I've seen videos on YT that say the slot wouldn't be on the V2 either. Maybe it was added in the last ones produced, I don't know.
@@giovenri I don’t have either version of the radio so I’m just regurgitating what another UA-camr had said in a video. Thinking of buying one so would definitely like to know myself
@@guerrillashadowman In the video I saw on YT, it seems that by disassembling it you find the predisposition for the sd card on the motherboard, but only that. Anyway, it will reach me in about ten days and I will be able to tell you.
@@giovenri yes I think it might of been the same video I saw, would be good if you let me know please. I hope it’s got the sd card slot and gps and all works for you 🤞🏻
@@guerrillashadowman ua-cam.com/video/Ap2CrA1IWpc/v-deo.html . I think a V3 version with TF card and BT will come out sooner or later,
So im trying to figure out what is fake !! about this radio ? It's not Motorola ?

Whath kind of IC use for trasmit /receive ?

Pa zar ovo nije model Abree AR 2520 25w.
What license do you require in Western Australia
Foundation at the least.
I keep saying I'm not buying a 'ham' radio which doesn't have an old-fashioned VFO knob; A knob on front, or even a thumbwheel on the side of the mic. A real 'ham' radio should have a VFO knob...period!!!
Yes, but times are a changin, for better or worse.
