    No one was more surprised than Motorola that this radio is a Motorola.

      I BELIEVE IT IS I WOULDN'T TRUST THOSE LABELS AS IT DOESN'T SAY IT IS ON THE BOX IT CAME IN, INCLUDING THE WHITE LABEL ON THE FRONT LIP.

    Buy several more, if they are any good. Then ask Motorola if they really make them. 😅

    How much? Because these may be good for making mini size, emergency repeaters!? Or a base station!
    Looking forward to the follow-up video. Thanks.

    What’s the signal meter like? Does it give you bar graph or just say S1 to S9. Seen a few cheap radios that give either S1or S9 and nothing in between, hoping it’s a good sensitive one as I just ordered one. Would be great to see a video where you show transmit and receive like a qso.nice review

    G'day from South Australia having just been certified for foundation this will be one of my next purchases as I've just ordered a Hamgeek APX-8000 handheld to compliment the baofeng UV-25 hoping to be on the airwaves shortly once my call sign is approved

      Good question, high is 25 watts so at a glance 5 watts on low.Nothing in the manual.

    Not a Motorola built radio. It's either a relabel or an out and out counterfit.

    I cant change the offset or direction?

    • @vkradio1656
      @vkradio1656  6 місяців тому +1

      Did you get the instruction manual as it is in there, you have to do it manually via the mic keypad. There is no automatic = or - offset, each frequency has to be entered manually.
      Abit of a pain but fairly simple to do.

      I do but it's in chinglish. Perhaps you could include it in another video 😅

      Did you ever get a straight answer on changing offset direction? I input output/then input frequencies, all I can get it to do is reverse them in wrong order.

      Not sure at this stage, maybe Chirp.

  • @custisstandish1961

    What is the magic formula for reversing repeater input direction? I showed 145.390 for output, held down 1 on mic keypad, input rptr input freq of 144.790. Now shows 144.790 as receive (output) and 145.390 as transmit (input ) freq. The opposite of what is needed. This is one peculiar transceiver. The manual is worse than awful.

      @@vkradio1656 that much I did do. What key or key combination reverses the offset? Also, how do you exit out of repeater programming. Long pressed the # key and it does nothing.

    I think a chinese company or conglomerate bought Motorola.
    If that is true, I hope the quality remains.

    • @campandcook3118
      @campandcook3118 4 місяці тому +2

      The Quality might remain for a while. One of the biggest reason to buy Motorola would be to SPY on police and emergency communication.
      Also, many NATO forces use Motorola radios.
      Or in that case, hopefully find an alternative ASAP
