hello Drew.s good day thanks for sharing your videos I have a mobile home in colorado and I would like to ask you. the thickness of playwood. 1/2 5/8 or 3/4 which would you recommend thanks for looking at my question
It’s all according to what comes out you’re not gonna find half inch in the Mobile Home Floor you will find five eights in some floors but generally it’s gonna be 3/4 of an inch which is 21/32
I can tell you. If your roof area measures say 14x60 = 840 Sq ft. 30 sheets of OSB 20x50 roll of EPDM. 10 gallons of water base sub straight glue. 2 rolls of 20x50 aluminum coil stock metal. 12- 2x4 by 10 4 2x4 by 8. 16 pieces of termination bar. 1-roll of 6 inch seam tape. 50 ft. A metal break. 1box of aluminum facia nails. 2-bags of termination bar screws.
I’m still curious about snow load. Central NH. And how is that osb going to hold up where 6 months of the year my moisture laden oil fired furnace runs and then the ac is on 3 months of the year lol. How come in this video you didn’t use the 2x4/1x4 to raise it?
Some videos I do some videos I don’t raise it with two by fours or one by fours it’s all according to the roof situation they’re all different. The ones that I read it or the ones that I’m worried about running into wires on the roof. For some stupid reason they decided to run wires over the top of the rafters and then metal on top of that. That’s not the way to go.
The white rubber is called TPO and it can be used the only difference is you need a heat welder special tool to put the seams together I don’t have that tool nor do I use the white I use the EPdm

@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Thanks for your reply, it is possible to add a pitch on a flat surface mobile home? Hi Drew, love the video's, you guys do an outstanding job. I know they also make a white EPDM membrane as well as black. Seems like that would absorb less heat....especially at the coast, is there a reason you stay with the black membrane? Staining maybe ??
Staining is a big problem with the EP DM it turns green and black. The real reason is the TPO white is twice as expensive. And it only last half as long so I put what would last up their durability
Takes me back 3 years ago.Waking up ,watching a couple of your vids with my coffee then up on the roof. Course it takes a little longer doing it by yourself but it was worth it. thanks Drew. Nice to be dry isn't it,(and not swimming in a river rescuing a guy trapped in his car, haha)Was that water cold that day Drew? C ya
I’ve done it all Roofing coffee and yes it is nice to stay dry although I have jumped in the water before the cold water actually to save somebody check out this video true story ua-cam.com/video/z_pmE8UAt2k/v-deo.html

I live in Holland and i have a question...i have a mobile home from steal with an aluminium roof simular like this one. How thick are the osb plates u are using and can I walk over any mobile home roof?
Are use OSB 15/32. You can walk on the mobile home only if you walk on the rafters or the outside edge. After you put plywood up there you can walk on it anywhere ua-cam.com/play/PL8xp84iSvTA5MA9B_sGBPGm9RZ5xxlczz.html
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair ok thanks...but there is no chance because the osb plates work naturally and they are under tension and in a curved construction the osb plates will eventually come loose due to the tension?
I hate you live so far away also I would love to help you I love helping people. And it sure does turn out good. Love what you do do what you love. If I live near you I would love to help you
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair is the rubber pretty durable? How long does it last? I would think it would degrade from the UV rays. Could this be used on a double wide? How would the ridge be done? Thanks for replying sir
In some cases that could be true in most cases it is not. I actually have an engineer come to my job before we start and give me the OK on putting a roof on it. The engineer has never stopped me yet. He always says go for it no problems. You’re not adding that much weight and it actually makes it stronger.
I appreciate you stopping by my channel and watching my videos. If nobody watch my videos it would be kind of senseless for me to make videos. So thank you for the kind words yourself we appreciate it. We always work hard to get the job done right. It’s all about attitude and gratitude
If it’s in a trailer park we cannot come to Florida because Florida won’t allow North Carolina people to come to Florida to work without a license. And I do not have a Florida construction license
So I take it by your comment you seen our Alabama job we had a great time in Alabama. We went to the space Museum while we were there. It’s not as big as the one in Washington but it is still nice and for your question unfortunately we’re not traveling out of state anymore. Covid shut all that crap down and I’ve never been able to get it started again I don’t have the crew for it.
I wish I could come to Mississippi and do that route for you but I’m not traveling right now, so unfortunately I’m not able to do it. Thank you for watching and I hope you can find somebody in your area to do a roof like this for me to come to Mississippi to do a roof would cost $15,000.
That overhang is such a big deal to the lifespan of the building. Those walls and window frames aren't perfectly waterproof, but with the right water diversion system above them, they can last a lot longer.
Should of added 1/2 inch insolation atleast between the wood and EPDM also the term bar makes it look sloppy if you bent some metal and then used some 6 inch cover strip it would of looked a lot cleaner . # Union roofer Boston MA
I agree with you somewhat. But I personally think that the bent metal with that 6 inch coverstrip have a tendency to fail yes it does look cleaner but it also gives you a place to fail. The glue itself overtime can fail. So the less glue I use the better I feel about it. Thank you for your comment. I’m actually from Saco Maine so I know exactly where Boston mass is
The only company around my area that would work on this single wide roof wanted a crazy price. I know every company has their own process, but these guys were trying to say they needed to rip the entire roof off and replace everything which would make the price even more. If we end up buying this trailer we are renting i am seriously going to follow your instruction here and get it done. I have a few questions though. 1. Do you know how much it would cost in materials for a trailer that is 14x70? 2. Do you know how much weight a mobile home roof can hold? I weigh about 240, and I am concerned the roof could cave in if I were to walk on it lol. 3. The style of roof on this trailer is a flatter steel clip style. If I were to do what is shown in your video, could I just put everything right over the existing roof?
14x70 material cost around 3500 Doing what we do will strengthen the roof. Even you could walk on it after my roof install. I do not suggest you getting on it. Get someone smaller lol.
Do you travel to Minnesota I have same mobile home singlewide without the extra extension attached.can you give me a quote also this come in white or paintable to reflect sun rays ?keep the videos up you will blow up on UA-cam soon .
It does not come in white but it is paintable with a product called Hydro Stop. We haven’t been doing any traveling for the past year because of the cost of everything. I wish I could come to Minnesota. We’re in North Carolina Southport to be exact. We have done some traveling in the past.
Night and day difference from start to finish, the overhang is the ticket for style and function! The owner is going to be super happy!
When I finished he paid me he was so excited. He just bought this place for a $24,000 property included. So the $6000 roof was a great investment
I hope all my videos will help someone

This is my first video ever so with this video you can see my progression. ua-cam.com/video/W7NJZwPZ0Ys/v-deo.html
Another great job!!!!
Thank you my friend
Hi Drew, love the video's, you guys do an outstanding job. I know they also make a white EPDM membrane as well as black. Seems like that would absorb less heat....especially at the coast, is there a reason you stay with the black membrane? Staining maybe ??
Staining is a big problem with the EP DM it turns green and black. The real reason is the TPO white is twice as expensive. And it only last half as long so I put what would last up their durability
Painting is a big problem with Tpo the white stuff sorry not EP DM
What brand material did you use and where did you purchase them?, looks good 👍
I get all my material from ABC supply store
Takes me back 3 years ago.Waking up ,watching a couple of your vids with my coffee then up on the roof. Course it takes a little longer doing it by yourself but it was worth it. thanks Drew. Nice to be dry isn't it,(and not swimming in a river rescuing a guy trapped in his car, haha)Was that water cold that day Drew? C ya
I’ve done it all Roofing coffee and yes it is nice to stay dry although I have jumped in the water before the cold water actually to save somebody check out this video true story

@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair 🙂 I know the story, that's what i was joking about. I was just wondering if the water was cold? But I bet your adrenalin was so high you probably didn't feel it. I'll check the story out again. But that was an amazing rescue!.
How much does this cost to do would like to have something like this done at my mom and dads house they own property and trailer in West Virginia

Use screws
Excellent craftsmanship 👍🏿💯
Glad you like it I really appreciate your comment.
I shared it. Looks great. I live in Mesa AZ. I know that’s too far for you. Too bad. It’s gorgeous
I hate you live so far away also I would love to help you I love helping people. And it sure does turn out good. Love what you do do what you love. If I live near you I would love to help you
What goes on after you lay down the rubber?
Nothing. It’s finished
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair is the rubber pretty durable? How long does it last? I would think it would degrade from the UV rays. Could this be used on a double wide? How would the ridge be done? Thanks for replying sir
Not on a Doublewide no. The rubber last 25 to 30 yrs 30 yrs is a good number for rubber life
I was told not to do that cuz it’s too much wight for the 2 by 1 trusses
In some cases that could be true in most cases it is not. I actually have an engineer come to my job before we start and give me the OK on putting a roof on it. The engineer has never stopped me yet. He always says go for it no problems. You’re not adding that much weight and it actually makes it stronger.
I’ve done this all the way from Ohio to Alabama to Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Thank you for kind response. You do excellent work.
I appreciate you stopping by my channel and watching my videos. If nobody watch my videos it would be kind of senseless for me to make videos. So thank you for the kind words yourself we appreciate it. We always work hard to get the job done right. It’s all about attitude and gratitude
Looks awesome. I always wondered how it was done.
Here are a few more you can look at. ua-cam.com/play/PL8xp84iSvTA5MA9B_sGBPGm9RZ5xxlczz.html
Hey anybody know what the lines are for in the plywood ??
Yes. They are so you can line up the nails to the rafter or floor joist
@Drew's Roofing & Home Repair okay Nice, I appreciate the response 🤝🏽
Is that rubber sheet required?
Yes. What else would you do. I’m not sure
Great job guys!!💯👍
Thank you my friend
Amazing results love it! My parents have a mobile home in Hallandale Beach Florida would you guys are willing to come down here and do the same thing?
Is it on your own property Florida for some reason doesn’t like out of towners working there
ua-cam.com/play/PL182FA4DC1959A2AA.html
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Hi and thank you for replying back to me, yes we do own the trailer actually my father and my mother are the owners jaja.
If it’s in a trailer park we cannot come to Florida because Florida won’t allow North Carolina people to come to Florida to work without a license. And I do not have a Florida construction license
I live in Massachusetts and I would like to get my roof repaired and estimate average cost everything including
What size is the home 🏡 that is what I go by. Also how far I hav to travel 🧳 ?? 7 to 10,000 most likely
Do you guys still come to Alabama? I might have a project for you.
How much does something like that cost for that mobile home that you just did
If your house is 65 feet it would cost $7500 if it is 75 feet would be $8500 and someone if you had a porch or anything like that ad for that
You come to floresville texas
I have never came that far that is quite a ways for me Katina
I have a single wide amd looking to redo it. How mucb
I charge anywhere from 4500 to 7500 is according to the size. 12 x 50 4500. 14 x 70 7500
ua-cam.com/video/cEJoS7hKE3Q/v-deo.html
What size OSB, and what type/size of rubber material?
I use EPDM rubber 0.45 buy the rubber at ABC Supply. I’m sure you can find 1 near you
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair how much was it?& do you go to the abc place or place online
I go to ABC for all my material. I’m not to sure of where I could get it online. I pay 1800 for a roll of 20x100
If you have questions feel free to call me
A beautiful job
James you’re the best 🙏
I live in Hattiesburg Mississippi and looking for a new roof like this.
I wish I could come to Mississippi and do that route for you but I’m not traveling right now, so unfortunately I’m not able to do it. Thank you for watching and I hope you can find somebody in your area to do a roof like this for me to come to Mississippi to do a roof would cost $15,000.
I have one in Oxford AL
I dis a roof in Alabama
Any chance you in ohio at all I need my roff done
Been there. But not again. To far. ua-cam.com/video/S_O4_mRFyEs/v-deo.html
Where do you buy the rubber sheeting?
Abc supply store.
Drew, do you ever try to upsell windows to expand your business?
Never have
What kind of rubber are you using
We are using EPDM rubber roofing you can buy it at ABC Supply. ua-cam.com/video/5wG-UWZ90eA/v-deo.html
Im in Central Oregon 😢 more than 10hrs away …. Where could i find that Rubber Roof !! It looks fantastic
I buy my materials at ABC Supply store. They have everything you need to do a rubber roof.
That overhang is such a big deal to the lifespan of the building. Those walls and window frames aren't perfectly waterproof, but with the right water diversion system above them, they can last a lot longer.
Yes sir I agree 100% check out my other videos I have a whole bunch of them all different types of Mobile home roof’s that I put epdm on
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Headed there now. Thanks for making all of these videos!
Here’s my playlist of my some of my mobile home roofing. ua-cam.com/play/PL8xp84iSvTA5MA9B_sGBPGm9RZ5xxlczz.html
I’m actually from Saco Maine so I know exactly where Boston mass is
Looks great 👍
Thank you so much my friend I appreciate your comment we try hard to make these things beautiful again
14x70 material cost around 3500
Doing what we do will strengthen the roof. Even you could walk on it after my roof install.
I do not suggest you getting on it. Get someone smaller lol.
Im afraid to ask what it would cost today to have similar job done ?
80 to 10 thousand. Up 40 percent since ch I. N a virus
How much you charge to do a 12x65 singlewide?
8000
Do you ever get to NE Florida?
Florida hates out of staters
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair That's too bad.
The only time I come to Disney is for this. ua-cam.com/video/HudFQtrnSFk/v-deo.html
How well doesn't this roofing hold up over time?
20 to 30 yrs. It will last a long time. Maybe even longer
How hard is it to do a roof with a pitch roof not a flat roof
It gets difficult staying up there is not as easy as it looks
what was the cost for that i have to do the same thing to mine,,,thank you benny
Material cost about four grand maybe 4500 the rest is labor
Can gutters be added to this
Yes
Super clean 👍
Appreciate it
Could you share the cost for a 16'x80' single wide.
10.000
That looks really nice
Thank you so mucg
Much
Do you travel to Minnesota I have same mobile home singlewide without the extra extension attached.can you give me a quote also this come in white or paintable to reflect sun rays ?keep the videos up you will blow up on UA-cam soon .
It does not come in white but it is paintable with a product called Hydro Stop. We haven’t been doing any traveling for the past year because of the cost of everything. I wish I could come to Minnesota. We’re in North Carolina Southport to be exact. We have done some traveling in the past.
The cost of this roof if you were here between 7500and 8500
Hell to the yeah. Great job.
Thanks!
