That roof looked like it was in really bad shape but once you put the OSB down it looked so much better, and then with the rubber down it looked nearly perfect. Another great job completed by Drew and Paul!

That was so satisfying to watch! Seems like you two make a great team. I wish my roofers were as competent as you two. Got a new roof 3 years ago and it started leaking worse than before and still hasn't been resolved. Hoping to just get tpo roofing on top and be done with this nightmare. lol

what kind of rubber is that and where do you get it from, I'm a new mobile home owner and am trying to learn some tricks to fix some things ... we are primarily dealing with a leaking roof, hoping all will hold out til spring to get it fixed, its not a terrible leak but this home was built in 81 and im pretty sure all is close to original.

That's a hell of a good job on that mobile home! Very impressive. Cam you glue that rubber down to a roof that has a good thick coating of Henry elastomeric coating on it?
You can put it up there, but I don’t know if you can glue it down not sure if it will stick but I still think it will work and then you can code it WHITE. I think what you wanna know is can you put it down without putting OSB on there first and the answer is yes.

Serious Question - Looks great but why not just shingle it after putting the wood on top?
You can’t put shingles on a flat pitch. It has to have a ridge in order to have shingles.

I need to repair my own mobile home roof also. Where do i buy the rubber material that you used in this video? can you make a video on where you get some of these types of materials like the roof edge trim that holds the rubber in place.

Will the lack of ventilation provided by the rubber lead to the osb deteriorating faster?
So far we’ve been doing them for over 20 years never had any trouble. Now that we make them white I feel it will be cooler
Drew I have a rubber roof. Hotter than hell in the summer. I want to cover with regular shingles.How would I pitch in the middle to then lay new osb and then tar paper and shingle it. Can’t afford trusses so was wondering if I could use a thicker furring strip down the middle to create pitch. What cha think?

Beautiful job both of you did. I have a ? Where my 2 half on my mobile home meet i see the ceiling parting alone the edges on both side i have a beam inside with panel. Both side of that show a gap is this from settling or saging because the outside panel in some areas looks like were to to sheets going you can see the crack seal line starting alone the siding around the 4 sides? I believe this area was a wash long ago because when you dig the earth stone and sand is in the yard. Do i need leveling before having work done. Also has termites dont lbow how much bought it 3 1/2 years ago inspector said then was all good. Please guide me im in California. Ty 👍👍👍

How do you decide on thickness? Currently planning on doing mine
I use 045 mil EPDM Rubber the other one would be 60 mil. You can use either one you want to 045 is plenty but if you have trees over your roof, you might want to add 60 mil. You can do this. Mr Drew a buddy of mine had some floor repairs some yrs ago He said you can see the screw heads in his Linoleum how did this happen thanks in advance
They didn’t put the screws in far enough obviously. If you put the screws in properly, you would not see them. We use screws every floor. I’ve never seen him show up through the linoleum
What is the lifespan of the rubber? My original steel that has been kept coated is about 40 years old.
With a little bit of maintenance, I would say it would last at least that long

You might have to change a few screws because they’re galvanized and they have rubber washers on them that can get hard and fall off maybe coat it every 5 yrs white

the process looks simple enough. how much would one expect to pay a roofer to remove existing roofing and replace with this style of roof on a mobile home roof ~14x65? (no porches or anything). i have an elderly relative in a mobile home and the roof is leaking. i'm trying to figure out what the different roofing options are what they might cost. one roofer looked at it and said it's 9.5 squares and gave estimates for poly glass and epdm. they're both expensive. i'm just trying to find something inexpensive that will last a decade. i don't imagine she will be in this dwelling for much longer than that.

@@symbioticape I was surprised at the price, but it's consistent around here. $9K to $10k for a 14x66 trailer to install new EPDM.
I was floored. I live in a 3br colonial had had quotes from $6300 to $8500 to do my roof with asphalt shingles about 8 years ago.
I thought the trailer roof would be maybe $3k to $4k. I was so wrong. My parents roof is still not done. They don't have the cash and getting a loan for mobile home improvement is difficult
you used a 1x could I run a 2x4 down the center and 1x on the sides to create a small peak? Not needed but my flat roof has always bothered me
The one by fours were only used for swimming that’s it the next one we do we’re going to put two by fours down on the entire roof every 16 inches across and layer of plywood on that. Be watching coming soon I believe.

Drew, i have a MH similar to this with no eaves. Above every window is something like a J channel to catch water & divert to sides of window. Well they leak now, and i need to replace them because they leak but cant find them because i dont know what theyre called. Do you have any clue? Or a better alternative to keep the water away from the tops of windows without redoing the roof??
You have to buy them things at a Mobile Home Supply store. You won’t buy them at Lowe’s or Home Depot or any other box store. If you want the gutters from a mobile home you will have to go to a mobile home store, so look that up Mobile Home store near me or Mobile Home Supply store near me if you do that on Google, you should find something call them. They will tell you where to find it. I have videos on replacing it, if you type in gutter replacement, you’ll see I have two of them

How much would something like this be on a double wide
I have never done a double wide generally double Wides have shingles and this is a single wide with a metal roof so I’m not real sure what it would cost to do a Doublewide. I’ve never done one before my guess would be somewheres around $15-$18,000 on a Doublewide to be honest with you generally I charge somewheres between seven and 11 for single watch.

Love you guys got a question though I left my water running in the utility room ,need to say it went through the trailer ,42 foot long out 4 feet went through the ductwork went like a waterfall cut the underbelly plastic ran for two days can I take the plastic and insulation out? How many heaters do you think I’ll need underneath hoping you can help me out. Thank you.
Buy a dehumidifier it will remove most of the water. Gosh. You have big trouble going on. Wish I could help more. Dehumidifier.

What are these and what do they actually do I’m following your videos so next week I’m going to try to do this. The temperature outside is about 42°. I’m going to cut out the black tarp and pull down the insulation. Should I have heat under the trailer then the dehumidifiers? The black tarp what is it called and how thick is it?? What type of insulation do I put up please. I’ll go to Lowe’s.
Not thick at all. If you do cut it out I will say it won’t be easy putting back. So I just insulted mine and left it that way
What is Osb?
OSB is everywhere you go if you go to Lowe’s or Home Depot ask them for SB and they’ll show you

How difficult would it be for a person to put a rubber roof on a 12 ft singlewide by themselves?
You need at least 2 people. I do it with just me and Paul. We are starting a new roof job on Tuesday. Make sure you ring the notification bell so you notify the next video I put out it will be with me and Paul alone installing a rubber roof on a single one.

I either find a friend that needs a piece of rubber, or I use it for patches in pieces here and there
