All the standards are higher, and this is when you start to see people you thought would make it all the way through drop out or get kicked out.

During Hell Week the instructors are demons about staying hydrated. Serves two purposes. 1. Prevents cramping up. 2. When you’re laying in the cold water your piss provides a little bit of warmth.

For anybody who wants a crumb of hell week wake up at 5am and go for a 4-6 mile run. When you get back home, the first thing you do is take a shower with cold setting at max. The Pacific Ocean is if not as cold, but probably colder during the times they train 😉
The surf always looked like the absolute worst part to me, not only is it cold, but they really seem to do most of it In the dead of night. Being tired just makes everything worse too.
Breaking a man into a warrior doesn't make any sense for anyone unless you are a natural born king who is actually not abused. A king would be gifted. Including the lives of the men who mistakenly volunteered. I wanted the men to be men and to lead the weak en route of goodness.
Give it a try? Either you do it or you dont there is no trying the way you talk you leave the backdoor open to quit. You wont make the first day with this mentality when you feel the real pain and struggle behind this.

@@jayworldjsthe difference is in boot camp you can’t just quit whenever you want. If the Marine Corps allowed recruits to quit there would be like 4 recruits graduating per cycle. Just like MARSOC A&S and other sof selections, the hardest part is convincing yourself that you still want to keep going, knowing that there’s no punishment for quitting, and the shit stopped being fun/exciting a looong time ago.
If you quit BUDs you just get sent to a different unit in the Navy. It’s one of the hardest parts of that kind of training, compared to boot camp where if you quit you get kicked out of the military and possibly sent to jail. All the motivation to continue has to come from within, because of the lack of consequences for quitting.
