There’s a lot about this machine that I wish were a bit different, but I’m still glad to have it available to buy today. It’s no Lady K belt drive or KitchenAid but it’s the closest thing to the wash action you can buy brand new. If WP were to beef up the gear case with metal gears, actually sound insulate the cabinet and base, and use something other than these buzzy magnet drain pumps, this would be an irresistible washer for people who want a something modern and classic at the same time.
This is one of the only modern Maytag washers that I actually think would be an ok fit for some people. Everything else is junk I would never consider buying.
@@jamesorsby7553 It fills up with more water than any other modern washer except for the SpeedQueen TC5, but this one has a better agitation and cleans the clothes better. It doesn't fill to the tip top, but uses about 20 gallons as opposed to maybe 4 to 5 gallons a front load uses.
Had this machine for a couple of months but had to let it go. If you interrupt the fill on the rinse cycle, it will fill to the lowest water level regardless if you have it set for a higher level.
I watched all your videos and thought this machine would be perfect! So i purchased it last year and have had nothing but problems from 2nd week. First i couldnt get anything but low water levels. Had many service calls, until the control panel was replaced( or is it called the mother board?) Now I can't get any level, but deep water even when using the normal echo with only a tiny, light load. Plus my presoak and extra rinse no longer presoaks or gives extra rinse. I can get a presoak if it's set to the extra rinse knob on options, but no extra rinse. Basically i think i got a lemon cause i know from the videos i have watched, this is NOT the way the machine should work. Strange thing is that the 2 techs sent by maytag from the same repair company, saw my problem, admitted it, but filed the report to Maytag that the machine was operating as expected. Why would they do that, except that they do not want to replace it and the more time they stall, the less $ they will have to offer me prorated. They refuse to change this mother board again. Isn't it possible that this part is defective or was damaged in shipping?? I am at a loss. I was hoping you could tell me what u think could possibly be wrong with the machine. I purchased the one with the 5 /10 yr warranty so paid a lot more than i could have if purchased the 1 yr warranty. I will prob need to call an independent repairman in, but not only will i pay for service call, but it will cost me for all parts and labor! Please any ideas what could be wrong, how much that control board costs and what can i do to get my warranty covered by Maytag? Didn't u do phone consults at one time? I would love to have a phone consult if you can send me a link to discuss this. Thx for any help!
Yes it's overloaded, but he's trying to see if the machine will do what maytag says it will do, if it breaks he can fix it and you'll know just how much it will hold, i do agree with the other person, the belt drives were the best, just wish I could find one
Thak you. Can you PLEASE test one the of the washers that has the removal agitator? Would be nice to have a comparison of a wash with and without agitator, and of course your opinion on the overall build quality of the unit.
The removable agitator machines are a complete and utter gimmick designed to get consumers (who bought an impeller machine in the last few years and think it doesn't clean as well as their old machine with an agitator) to go out and buy *yet another* WhirlPoop VMW tin-can with a flap on the top. The joke in the industry is they made the "agitator" removable so it's easier to take it out and throw it away because it's absolutely not involved in the wash action whatsoever. 😂😂
It’s not built nearly as well. It doesn’t have a transmission and its water pump doesn’t run continuously. It’s also built with a lot of plastic, flimsy parts that will break in just a few years. You would be lucky if you could get six years out of one of these compared to twenty years out of a Speed Queen
Is there detergent in this load of towels? Looks like pretty good wash action. Can you turn timer to restart wash action if you have a heavy soiled load? On a mechanical timer you get usually 14 minutes top of agitation. Can you back it up to add more time if needed?
Mine is arriving next week. I seen a few videos of the diagnostics (water level calibration, self clean) How do people find the correct dial combination to perform theses?
Some people love the old ways but Front Loaders are taking over because they use less water and are proven to clean better. The clothes in the video didn’t look any cleaner at the end of the cycle but as the person said, they smelt better thanks to all the perfumes in the laundry detergent. I know many people who love their top loaders and they are certainly still in demand. Each to their own.
@@PWC67 The lifespan of a top load is much longer. Even if it does break down its simple to repair and the repair is far less. You can select the water level which is essential with laundry machines. This is why everyone likes this Maytag Commercial model and the Speed Queens. Too many things can go wrong on a front load plus is needs constant preventative maintenance.

That's good! Pauses in every spin during the rince cycle! Top bombing! 😎👍
The only issue I might have as I do with all the vertical / modular designs is they’re built so light duty
Great washer, nice fast cycles and the clothes come out clean
I love mine. It washes really well.
When I checked maytag's website last night I didn't see this machine on there anymore
This is one of the only modern Maytag washers that I actually think would be an ok fit for some people. Everything else is junk I would never consider buying.
it spins fast 👍
This load is overloaded by my standards. I have this washer. And I love it but I don't overload
Seriously overloaded. Absence of detergent makes it even worse I think. 🤔
That's because it didn't fill all the way up with water as it should have.

Its washig pretty good.

Lol... That's not good.
Mine doesn't do that.
@@troy2000me It happened too many times on mine. Don't know if there was a problem with it but I've heard others say the same thing 🤷
@@troy2000me mine does

These top loaders need an internal water heater for hygienic washes.
They're only hygienic until your unhygienic hands touch them again......
What issues have you seen on this particular model? How does it compare with the Speed Queen TC5003WN? I know the tub is smaller on the SQ. Longevity?
This thing makes my Speed Queen sound like a church mouse, and i thought mine was loud!
could you build a sound proofing box around it to cut back on the noise?
So, HONESTLY, how does it compare to the Speed Queen TC-5? It doesn't sound very heavy duty, let alone commercial.

It needs some spray rinses.

Why do they not make these with a larger capacity drum? Like 4.5 or higher.
My Maytag commercial is 2018, is this an improved model?
Mine is arriving next week. I seen a few videos of the diagnostics (water level calibration, self clean) How do people find the correct dial combination to perform theses?
@brianmckay1659 The only manual I could find is the user manual. Where is the technical manual for download?
A nice machine and video, but it looks like you didn’t put any detergent in it. At least the video didn't show you put some in.
Maytag has the potential to make great machines for residential use, but they choose not to
Never buy another Maytag product. Had a washer and two months after the warranty expired it needed a $350 repair. Sent it to the junk pile.
Still not as fun as my A9700 Sudsaver.
That's the shortage tinse I ever seen. Hope you are not sensitive to soap
At least he rinse was with a full tub of water. Most rinses on modern washers just spray water on the clothes, not actually submerge them in water.
Compared to the old machines the wash action seems effectively useless. I would stick with a front loader.
What do you mean useless? This model has the best rollover action on the market.
