    Amazing how a 70 year old Washer is still working so well. Puts most of the new machines to shame.

    That machine is kicking butt. Those towels were turning over so quickly, it was amazing.

    My Grandmother had one of these machines. Top of the line!

    That is a very neat washing machine. I am search up is it still works after 70 years. Sadly, the washing machines that people buy from Lowe’s or Home Depot do not nearly last as long as this one, and they always end up in landfills compared to the older washing machines. If these washing machines were built like in the 50s, then there is less worry about the landfills. You’ve got a lot of awesome vintage washing machines. Every video I watch, I was thinking they definitely shouldn’t have stopped production of a quality washing machine. Besides, I would take this good old GM Frigidaire over any high-efficiency washing machine.

    My great grandmother had one in white, she bought it new in 1958 and used it till she died in 1994 and it was sold with her house after she died, i wish i had been old enough to aquire it at that point otherwise i would have.

    Awesome video! Nice to see one with the original dole valve still working! While I'm more partial to the WO-65 that does 2 deep rinses instead of the lint-away rinse, I certainly admire all GM built frigidaires. I hope to use or even own one someday

    This machine I bet produces better results with cleaner clothes than any modern laundry equipment does.

      From my experience; when it comes to doing a load of laundry in a short time, 20 - 30 - 45 minutes nothing outperforms them. The new models that are better with stains and rinses better, take a much longer time. A short cycle on a modern machine is often 60 minutes and the quick 20 minutes cycle, and it just doesn`t get it as clean. The 20 minute cycle is more like a rinse, you can`t use detergent. I sometimes used to tweak an old Maytag to repeat the main wash once or twice so 12 minutes became 24 and sometimes even 36. A full load needed an extra rinse, even then I got a full load done in an hour.

      That's the way they advertised these machines in the 60's. The agitator got even the dirtiest clothes 3x cleaner than the standard washers at the time. 😮

    • @turtlefromthenorth
      @turtlefromthenorth Місяць тому

      @@alandale2182 I don`t think quick cycles are a priority anymore, those days are long gone. Newer machines both for laundry and dishes easily run 2 to 3 hours before they are done.

    I remember the 1970's advertisement, it was called "Jet-Cone Action" and only Fridgidaire has it. 🐾🐾🐕

    Only time we saw washers like these in the UK was at the launderette. I remember ones that had the same wash action and you put the powder in a hole in the top of the agitator post
