Not true, i tried it on my JL 2020, does not work, after 20km the sound comes out, and in your video you drive the car in less that 20km speed.
For those of you unsure as to why you would want to do this...off roading with this thing dinging at you constantly is ANNOYING.

2023 JL, didnt work at first but give your dashboard time to boot up before you go through the sequence and dont rush. Worked with 5 clicks👍

I drive a JK, but its in the shop for a day, and the dealer gave me a JL to drive until then. The first thing I did was disable the seatbelt chime per your instructions here, and it also actually shut off the auto stop/start. The auto start/stop is one of the things that I absolutely don't like about the JLs, so this was a good surprise. Has this been the same for others who have done this?

Is there a plug under the seat that tells the car whether someone is sitting in a seat? Is there a plug going into the seat belt reel itself that tells the car whether you have the seat belt tab inserted into the buckle? If the car doesn't think that anyone is seated in a seat and an accident occurs, does it still fire off the seat belt tensioners and airbags?
There is a weights sensor only in the passenger side seat. As most likely they’ll be someone in the driver seat if there’s an accident. Pretension does not go off on the passenger or drivers side if the buckle switch is not closed. Passenger airbags may not go off if the pressure on the seat is under the weight of RFICS (rear facing infant car seat) and the seat belt is buckled. Also if the pass side seat is moved in the full forward position the pass side air bag will not deploy. Now don’t hold me to any of this algorithms change every year for air bags to meet compliance.
I haven't tested this in a lot of years, but I seem to remember a vehicle that I had at one time where the seat belt chime was tied to a weight sensor on the driver's side because there was a connector under the seat that could be disconnected to prevent the warning. That was probably 30+ years ago though since at that time, seat belts weren't required to be worn. The seat belt laws are just another example of the federal government overstepping its limitations. They basically blackmailed the states into creating those laws by threatening to withhold highway funds.
Thanks for the information. It gives some things that we should consider if we want to put luggage or a package in the seat of our vehicle and either put a seat belt around it to keep it from moving or click the seat belt behind it to keep the chime from going off. If we are involved in an accident in such a situation, the pretentioners (and possibly air bags) are going to go off and the repair costs for the accident are going to go up.
It would have to be over 60 lbs for the bags to deploy. 59 and under would not deployed airbag as it thinks a child is in the seat. 60 -90 thinks that it is a petite woman. So single stage airbags only deploy. Anything over 90lbs gets dual stage airbag deployment.
What if you have a 2021 compass sport , there’s no ( run ) only start/stop on the push to start

Thanks for sharing this. Worked in 04 Liberty. Anyone know how to disable the beginning beeps (5 I think) of turning key to on position? As in when your going to work at 4am but dropping the baby off at the sitters first & you want to start the engine but without those first 5 beeps waking the baby. Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks in advance..
That dam chime drives me nuts. It was the first thing I did in mine. Do don't happen to know anything about the steering locking up on these new JL's by chance do you. I haven't had it happen to me yet but I'm concerned about it.

This worked on my 2020 Rubicon but when I got back in it the next day the seatbelt chimes started back again. Any recommendations?
What do you do if when you turn the accessory mode on and the dummy lights go off but the seat belt light doesn't? This is driving me insane. I have my seat belt buckled while driving and it is still chiming! I always wear my seat belt while driving, I'm not trying to get away with not wearing it.
Get a seat belt extender. Also fixes auto park

Jeep Informant well thank you for the information. The dealer who sold me mine was terribly informed and said my JL had features that it doesn’t have. I feel like I got beat on my ‘13 Rubicon trade in and on my purchase of the ‘18. I’ll be looking for a different dealer in the future. Thanks again

Nice little hack of that annoying chime. But, please everyone, always wear the seat belts...all of the time! After your challenge video and this one, I see that you are still employed by JEEP. Figures. This is why you know all of these little tricks. No one but an extreme insider would know how to maneuver the several steps to eliminate the chime. So it is all in the software. Does this work for the JK?
After the one comment on the locked steering at 65+ mph, I found the Lite Brite video and this issue could have a tragic outcome. Hope that there is a "quick fix" software resolution...and soon. There seems to be enough people have the same or similar problems. Hope that JEEP does not blow this off and wind up with a Ford Pinto gas tank situation. I assume that the JK does not have this issue...I hope!!

2. No. JK doesn’t have electric power steering or speed sensitive steering. So lite Brite’s issue would not happen on JK.
r g This method has been in Dodge Chrysler vehicles for a while. The new manuals don't describe the method any more but the older ones did. Same process worked on my 09 Liberty.

I’ll keep my eyes open for any info. A paint gauge could tell you how thick the paint is. Not sure how to test the paint for strength. 🤔

I took my JL rubicon out to probably the scratchiest rock filled place we have here on maui a few days ago. I did put a Ceramic coat on my jeep 3 months ago (by myself) fyi. I was getting whacked with tree limbs and slamming pretty hard on the rock rails and skid plates. I was sure by the end of the day id have a few dents and at least minor scratches. After I washed it, NOTHING! not a scratch or rub mark on the paint. Only a little paint on the rock rail was removed. I was amazed actually. Everything on my JL so far has lived up to its “off road” capability. I will have a video of the trip up on my page in a day or two.

1000% did not work for my JL 4xe. Anyone else with a 4xe get it to work? I'm baffled. Tried 6 clicks, 4 clicks, 5 clicks, starting immediately when in run, waiting until the seatbelt light goes out. 100 times, 100 ways....what am i missing? I'm thinking there is a firmware version or something this simply doesn't work for

Hey, I don't know but, why would you want to ride without your seatbelt on? And why go through the hassle of doing this if you can just put on the seatbelt and it will be gone and besides you'll be safe in the case of a car crash
