    A comprehensive death wobble video would be awesome !!

    • @dkoeger
      @dkoeger 3 місяці тому +1

      Yes on the death wobble, I have felt it on my CJ, TJ, JK and at least once on my new JL. It is only on the highway. If anyone has a video of it occurring that would be great for others. I know it will happen with this drive train. IMHO, what makes a jeep a jeep is the front axle, and that is the factor that contributes to it. I have not experienced it in any other type of vehicle. It is a mechanical oscillation, similar to a tuning fork, hit a bump on the high way, and it oscillates.

    Tip #6, stinger bumpers are lame --- Tip #7, please, for the love that is all holy...no angry grill.

      Yeah. Those stingers cause a lot of damage when people get in accidents. Not sure why people use them. A full covering number would do more.

    ALWAYS CHECK ALIGNMENT & BALANCE if you have steering issues, the shakes/death wobble, uneven tire wear, etc.
    I bought a new 2021 JLUR now has 43kmiles, not offroaded (yet), diligent w tire pressures, no accidents, & still bone stock (as of right now 🙂). I have had serious steering wobble at highway speeds, 3 separate occurrences from 30k miles to now 43kmiles of falling out of alignment heavily (major front toe out), uneven tire wear on all 4, and as of this week two leaking rear shocks.
    Too bad I love Wranglers (my 2nd now) but stay on top of Jeep with FCA quality control issues. Have THEM check everything if you have any problems.

    Great tips. After every long road trip or any time offroad I like to recheck all suspension and steering bolts.

    Fun fact….
    By definition a bolt consists of two pieces, one nut and one screw.
    So therefore, check your nuts and screws. 😆
    All jokes aside I love the content, keep it coming. My sister is a new Jeep owner and I’ve sent her lots of links to your “beginner” videos. 🍻

    A death wobble video would be great since my 2021 Jeep jL 392 has been in and out of the dealership with no positive results!!
    Warranty ends this month so I guess it’s up to me to find the true problem.
    I live only a couple of hours away from you in West Virginia northern area and would love to have you find and fix it on a video or not .

    XJ, ZJ, JK & JT owner here. I've had zero rust or death wobble issues through the years. The biggest thing is having an underbody rise when I get back to the farm from the beach or salt marsh. I built it for the trailers. But it works great for vehicles. As for retorquing everything, absolutely. I even do this with my wife's new independent suspension suv.

    Good advice. Experienced death wobble the first winter we owned our 2022 Wrangler. Hit a rough patch in the road and the steering wheel started shaking wildly. Took it to the dealer and they performed a procedure to get air out of the system. It didn’t improve until I replaced the all season stock tires with wider all terrain tires.

    Rust. All the Jeeps I've owned have some with some surface rust on the joins around the wheels/rods. On my latest Jeep, I cleaned, used rust converter, and then painted over.
    Do you think I still need to put Fluid Film on or will keeping it clean and painted is enough?

    Gotta protect that frame from the inside out, hitting it with some touch up paint is going to be a losing battle. Fluid film or Surface Shield from the inside out will make the difference on how that frame is going to look for years to come. Our Jeeps get yearly applications.

    Idk if it was an accident. But on the 2.0. The black bottle at the rear of the engine bay is your coolant bottle. The small clear bottle in front of your washer fluid id ONLY for the water to air intercooler

      My 2023 High-Altitude had DW as well. Even a Fox stabilizer made it worse. Oddly, the dealer put a new version of the OEM stabilizer, and we're good so far. However, I'm not convinced the issue is indeed resolved.

    I put a small hole in the oil pan so it’s out of oil by the time I need to change it. It does get chattery near the end, but adding more oil for the next five years fixes that.
    Oil filter changing is just a myth.
    As bolts get loose, it just provides more flexibility which is great for flexing on the trail.
    Tire pressure doesn’t matter. Mine start at 90psi and by the time they get to 10pm I after warming up on the freeway at 80mph, they are time to change anyway.

    • @unwrangler11
      @unwrangler11 3 місяці тому

      You might get lucky and unscrew it to see if the tire still holds air pressure. If you have good off road tires with enough tread life left, the screw might not have went all the way through the tire but if it did and you leave it in, eventually you will have a flat tire and you don’t want that on an off roading trip so address it sooner than later.
