No profit from that mail, they could have ignored it, but they took half a minute to reply with a friendly, helpful email.

@Ninja Crackpot well you have to ask the government of china, USA, and all those participated event 201 sponsored by Bill and Melinda Gate foundation. The COVID-19 started way before a military drill and constructions of crematory buildings around and in Wuhan. So i felt this was planned.
Embassies serve more then just being a line of communication between nations and people trying to deal with said nation in some form, they also serve as the public face of the country. Most are staffed with people who love interacting with random people who want to know more about their country, and if they have the time they'll meet. The Iranian consulate probably didn't have anything scheduled if he offered him to stay longer.
An embassy's job is to do diplomacy and project a good image of the country abroad. When a foreign citizen shows interest in your country, you encourage it!

Exactly. I just watched this with a constant smile.

Iran is trying to hard. Most of the small countries were the first to jump at this opportunity, as well as unrecognised coutries and the countries in some deep shit like Iran. They nned this to show how good they are. they need to prove themselves.
And then they say they ain't nice lol (plz do not kill me in the comments or irl)
thats just how iranians work honestly ( im iranian) we ALWAYS invite people in even if we dont know them and WE ALWAYS offer tea if you ever visited iran you know what im talking we are generally friendly towards people and that has nothing to do with political or religious matters, and btw when they insisted it was just a "Taarof" we insist but you should not accept. again we dont expect you to know these things but its just built in its almost impolite if we didnt insist you stay even if you'r a complete stranger.

Funny how alot of the EU flags look quite cheap, while less economically well-off countries send rly nice flags and goodies
Could be because there's not as much patriotism here in Europe and people usually don't really have their countries flag on display.
@@genericname1235 here in Portugal I can assure you we have a lot of patriotism, I'd say it's rather that there's a lot more scrutiny over public spending
no it's beacause that flags made for/in the eu countries have to be flame resisnant beacause of Eu law
Maybe because Europeans probably have more access to printing and mass production while the developing nations typically have the more handmade stuff. They are also generally more well-known and don’t need to try as hard to get people to appreciate their country. You see how lesser-known, unpopular or unrecognized places had some of the best stuff because they were glad to have someone interested in them.
