I think as far as getting an authentic bad guy look, you have a lot more options available to you than players that want to play as members of a national military. You can just mismatch/age your gear to look a bit rag tag/worn down, absolutely cover your face, avoid the most current top of the line equipment, and avoid wearing military uniforms. You can do just about what ever you want gear wise and still get that OpFor kind of look. I'd just avoid equipment that hasn't seen widespread military use (like stuff SOF uses) or equipment that isn't available to the civilian market for OpFor kits, but other than that I think everything is good to go. Then if you want to go the bad guy mercenary route, you can use anything you want with no limits and it'd make sense. Just in that case just remove the mask, change the base layer clothing to gucci tacticool stuff versus the OpFor ragtag look, and again avoid military uniforms. Those green tactical pants and black northface jacket with the ski mask off, some low cut modern tactical shoes, and a plate carrier with modern military gear could absolutely pass for some type of merc I think.👍
@@CasvalSVER The mercenary look can go a bunch of different directions. There's the Private Military/contractor look with the more modern equipment, or you could get a little more "action movie" with it and lean into some more dramatic looking gear for that Bounty Hunter vibe. Either way, "Bad Guy" kits are our favorite because they're so fun and unique, since you don't have to follow conventional loadout rules.
@@PortCityAirsoft Yep exactly. I'm thinking of starting an OpFor group where I live, there's so many groups kitted up as cops, swat, special forces, US infantry, even seen a secret service themed group here, but not really any bad guy groups to play against them. I should fix that.
Pick a color and a camo pattern. Mix and match using the color and pattern you chose. Try to contrast as much as possible (within an environment theme. No one is going to ware winter camo in the jungle. Only exception is a white sleeveless shirt or the Russian white and blue navy undershirt). If your pants are the solid color, make the top camo, and vise versa. Instead of just allot of pouches, consider "bulky". Bulky will be your friend if you have allot of kit you want to keep on you or if the patterns are all the same. Don't go for a chest rig and battle belt, put it all into 1 if you can. If you want a plate carrier consider a solid color slick carrier that goes under your chest rig, belt, waist kit.
Great advice! The best is when you can coordinate the base colors/pattern with friends and build a group of "almost" matching kits. Making things feel similar without too much uniformity.
@PortCityAirsoft you only really need to match 1-3 aspects of the costume to work. I recommend making it the largest distinguishing features match, mainly pants, shirt, rig.
@@kingalbby2497 we match our kits with green pants + black jacket as the base. Beyond that, it's fun to see how each person interprets the "Bad Guy" look.
@@PortCityAirsoft If you are familiar with Spartan117gw. The short "Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Operation Eagle Claw Loadout kit". It has some serious drip, although impractical now. I would do that but with some kind of camo in there. I already have something similar from my airsoft days when I though I needed to carry everything on me. I had a plate with everything, the battle belt loaded heavy. It was just to much bulk that was not necessary.
