    Greetings from Fresno, CA, USA. My Great Grand Mother is a Pesola, I can't even try write or pronounce her parent's names, but it suddenly occurred to me to look for Finnish food vids. I do have a Finnish cook book, but your vid gave me a new look at Finnish cooking that I haven't tried before, thank you.This looks yum.

    I went to Finland when I was 14, it surprised me that most of them can speak English and they’re much friendlier than other European countries

      Hi Thomas, when I went to school I think we started learning English in 4th grade and also all English movies and series are in English with subtitles which I think also helps😊 Really happy that you had such a positive experience in Finland 😊 May I ask where did you go and which places you had a chance to visit?

    Excellent recipe worked really well. I can also recommend eating it with Cumberland Sauce, Punasipuli-Cumberlandkastike

    I followed your recipe, and loved it. I think lingonberry jam tastes much better on this than on Swedish meatballs. Det är deligt!

    Never in my early years would my mother make this without minced meat, i guess we were no vegans in those days. Protein was a great way to get nutrients, there were no tablets to compensate lack of protein

    • @inthekitchenwithelisa
      @inthekitchenwithelisa  2 місяці тому

      We also never make this without minced meat. That way, it is very filling, just as it is😋 I think protein is still a great way to get the required nutrients and I don't believe in tablets when it comes to this😉

    You pronounced Marjoram perfectly. “Minced meat” is an old-fashioned raisin and meats pie filling. The meat is called ground beef or hamburger. You could use ground Turkey, pork or chicken too. Looks so yummy!!

      Hi Marty, oh no🤭🤭🤭 I have been saying it work all these years, how embarrassing 😅🤭 Thank you for correcting that, I will definitely keep it in mind now. Yes, you could definitely use any of those and yes it is really yummy😋

    How could I substituto the lingonberry Jam?

    • @inthekitchenwithelisa

      Hi there, you could also use cranberry jam instead. If you can't find either then you can make it yourself with frozen cranberries or lingonberries or just serve without any. I hope this helps😊
