If we are just comparing the vehicles as they come it seems odd that the Lexus chosen is a hybrid instead of a gas- only model. That gives the Lexus an advantage in power train for significantly better fuel economy. From an interior quality standpoint, they are not in the same class. Genesis is a significant step above the Lexus. The biggest win for Lexus is that Toyota’s (Lexus) manufacturing has a long history of reliability with a strong dealership repair network. Genesis, on the other hand, has struggled to get the kinks out of their supply line and build a strong, positive customer relationship. Genesis makes a more luxurious vehicle, so in that regard they are not in the same class. Lexus is a far more sensible choice to the point that their reliability is what makes this comparison reasonable. That’s my take anyway.
😂😂😂😂 boy you got me there when you said Lexus is entire generation behind genesis in terms of design and build quality, i need to trade my Lexus for genesis
I have a 2023 GV80 3.5t. it's the most reliable car I've ever owned. And it has the best in class warranty. I get more attention with the GV80 than any Lexus gx or rx owner can dream of. The GV80 gives me Soo much public looks that a woman literally stopped me in a roundabout traffic just to tell me she'd never seen a car as beautiful as the GV80 in person before. I doubt a Lexus will get you any compliments or public looks.
Firstly, the interiors should be the same colour for a fair comparison, an all black Lexus looks a bit dull. There is available the same colour as the Genesis. Secondly, Lexus as a brand has the best reliability record ever, something the Genesis cannot prove as its around since 2015. Both great but its a definite win for the Lexus.

Opinion don’t beat facts, the Rx sells more and its reliability is unmatched! And don’t mention anything about the turbos Lexus is putting in their cars, because the first gen Nx had turbo engines and it proven to be reliable!
The RX outsells a rolls Royce and a Bentley bentayga and a Porsche Cayenne so it must be better than them. But it’s not. Reliability is not why anyone buys a luxury car.
I don't think anyone is worried about "realibiltity" when buying something that has 5yr full coverage warranty. you also forgot one "fact" Lexus are ugly as hell and look like mom vans. Lexus finally smartened up and changed that God awful last design. idk how it was the best selling, thing was ugly as hell. my 2021 x5 competition makes it look like straight dog $hit. Congrats you got an upgraded rav 4 lol.
Very impressive video! Reside in Japan, I’ve been owned RX 450H & replacing to 350H in a month. I have no chance to see any Korean car here due to distribution, some impressive point is that this G80 still maintains V6 engine whilst RX already switched to inline4 plus much electrified system, I’m getting slightly curious how my new 350H give me a better driving experience.
I would rather take the Lexus, a better product from a trusted and reliable brand that's been around since 1989 over Genesis that started in 2015. Had Hyundai's before, did not last long, plus they are the most preferred vehicles to be stolen in the US.
I didn't know Lexus had such a big following for the suv lol. Why all the fanboys in the comment section. To me Lexus Rx has always been ugly until the new body style. That old one is just atrocious
I'd say the Lexus is better cause A its the luxury branch of Toyota and they have a significantly longer track record of selling cars in the US than Hyundai do and originally the Genesis was meant to slot above the Azera as Hyundai's top of the line car before it was spun off into its luxury division unlike Lexus which was always Toyota's Luxury division and at first were mainly aimed at the American Market for comparison sake take a Lexus ES 250 had a starting Sticker price of 22,000 in 1990 while a Cadillac Seville Touring Sedan started at 37,000 in the same model year which was even higher than a base level Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe at that time which stickered for $30,000 though depending if you got Coupe/convertible with what options etc. the price could easily go past 80,000

I am not sure that your logic tracks. If the value of Lexus is that it has a long, storied tradition because it basically uses Toyota engineering, that makes sense. If the claim is that Lexus has a longer track record in the US than Hyundai, then the thinking is not correct. The positioning of the Genesis is to hit a slot between Lexus and the German brands. They are fitting into that slot fairly well.
Japan stopped innovating and it definitely shows. Genesis interior puts Lexus into shame. Japan is riding on past glory. Lexus still looks like from Japan's heydays - 1980s and 1990s. Japanese cars are Zen lunch - giving so little for the money. Little wonder Yen is plumetting.
We drove a X5, GLE, Cayenne. Best was the x5 m-sport, lexus 500h second (we got a good deal on it) GLE was eh. Porsche was boring below 100k. Gv80 was horrible in built quality and the price shows it. Gv80 has cool tech and toys, but the Lexus for the price the Lexus is top of its class. If we didn’t get 6k off and had the price drop below 70k, we would’ve spent the extra money on the x5 only. Also my wife loved the way the Rx rode. Sorry but Koreans aren’t on German/Lexus level
Easy. Ones a real luxury car with proper luxury car underpinnings, a luxurious interior, next level design, materials tech luxury etc. that's the genesis The other one though... not even the slightest bit. Because it's just a gussied up Toyota Camry on stilts wearing ugly lipstick and it boasts pathetic looks, pathetic interior, pathetic tech, pathetic drivetrains, pathetic performance, pathetic handling, pathetic luxury, list goes on. That's the Lexus So ask yourself do you want a luxury car or a gussied up Camry? You decide
stfu what about Genesis aren't they kia/hyundai what happened to the kia boys they were so easy to steal and their build quality is ass and there's multiple recalls about fire so have fun driving ur gv80 around that shit won't even last 5 years bro
I wish the Lexus was more luxurious but the sad truth it is not. It’s just a better Toyota which there is nothing wrong with that. But it doesn’t set itself apart from Lexus other than looks (exterior) I’m hoping that Lexus abandons their whole 100% electric plan by 2030 and instead go with the hybrid by 2030 because those new concepts especially the wagon IS is mmmmuuuaaaahhh perfect.
@@naveenthemachine well rumor has it they are coming to production. GV80 for sure
I totally agree with lagardena8551& bradley's comments. GV80 is indeed another level with German luxuries, not with Japanese made
I would prefer Lexus, like you mentioned better fuel efficiency. And the reliability factors which saves you money on repairs.
Have a 2018 RX 350L and zero issues with it so far . Would have to go Lexus because of reliability

The Lexus looks WAY better in my opinion. Also reliability is the key.

taking the Lexus without question
