This is not death metal at all. It's basically just heavy metal with some glam rock and gothic rock elements.
Still one of the best Hypocrisy songs ever. The chorus riff, the solo, it all just fits beautifully.

Probably one of the best Melodic Death Metal songs I've ever heard. Hypocrisy are amazing. Incredible lyrics, vocals, musicianship, and even better, a music video to accompany it that actually heightens the experience instead of the usual mediocrity that you see in most video's these days.

The genius is that Tat is a great vocalist and the producer also and it's his band. He could have let his ego go uncontrolled and just crank up the vocals.But he doesn't. The vocals are almost understated. Love it.
I know this is an old song but still I come back to listen Peter's growls! He has the best death metal vocals of all time! - to me.

Seeing these guys live the first time when this came out around 2002? I had no idea what to expect. Peter was wearing a FUBU jersey. Then this song came on. I don’t even remember who else was playing, I was just in awe of this. They KILLED. He was literally dressed like drunk Jim Lahey running for trailer park supervisor against Sam Losco. (Album came out in 04, so yeah it was around then.)
aahhh ha ha what a great description! i also knew MANY white folks who wore FUBU and they had quite a few concerned and informative black folks approach and converse about whether or not my friend was aware of what the name FUBU stood for and if they had any concern for this meaning they accidentally ignorantly had emblazoned on themselves, and if they cared that it might actually cause a rift or worse, bad confrontation from folks who would be offended by their mistake, taking it as disrespect instead.
i bet upon discovering Peter was not American any potential instigator would say "he's Swedish. "
I also witnessed this happen to another white friend of mine who'd found a hat he wore until we got the speech informing us that the darker background baseball caps were in fact only worn by the Negro Leagues back in...... way back, i dunno when, which of course we were ignorant of. but the guy was so nice he traded my friend hats for his modern logo, that was awesome, esp cuz i really didnt know shit about Negro Leagues until he told me (i am also female, so.......)

Funny, I've been into In Flames for ten years and I never drew the comparison to Colony. Hypocrisy are fucking amazing too though. This song hits hard and shows when the Sweden scene was so powerful. Even into the mid 2000s.
