This was called humor back in the 60s, something that happened at the right time, right place. Sadly, humor has vanished since 2000, and has completely vanished since around 2016. The newer generations had better wake up real soon, and learn how to laugh again. Trust me, it's nice.

@francis-c9s ya that makes sence he was unique forsure but I've listened now to his other songs and he sorted had a Elvis voice it wasent like the very high notes like is the song I reacted too ,thanks so much for the comment👍😁

Back in the day, this was viewed pretty much as a joke and a fun thing to listen to because it was so bad. This IS NOT a reflection of the talent in the '60's and 70's. This was the heyday of rock music.
@spadams999 ya since the reaction video I've done I've done some research and found out his voice mostly was sort of like Elvis, thanks for the comment 👍
There IS a metal version of the song "Tiptoe through the Tulips' by a band called ISM. It does feature Tiny Tim in it though I think you would appreciate the song quite a bit more...lol
A culture icon, sign of the times. He appeared on such live shows like, laugh-in, Dean Martin and Roin and Martin, so on and so on. An oddity of the times. He should've been in Nam but nobody wanted to share a fox hole with him.
The artist created the voice as a version of standup and it trended. Wasn't intended to be a Best Hits entry. He kept doing it because people liked it - just like they do today... on OF. Definitely an acquired taste though. Having a range like he had, and in contemporary style, he'd probably be opening for big names today, like Madonna... or RuPaul.
@passion_proh-jects oh ok well that makes sence and someone else said he was sort of like a weird al of the times back then, thanks for your comment 🙂👍
@davexenos9196 really? I just don't understand why so many people liked that song lol. But it's just not my type of voice. But obviously he was a big artist back in the day👍 and thanks for the comment 😁
although this was his biggest hit, he sang a lot of really good songs, and not in his falsetto voice. This song was my least favourite of his. I have all his albums.

@ Yeah. I’m not mad that you guys disliked it; I’m furious, and seriously disappointed! Kidding. It is a weird song, and probably a very acquired taste. But I listen to really strange music, so it sort of just fits in with the rest of the weirdness. Glad you guys at least gave Tiny Tim a shot. :)

Tiptoe Through The Tulips was written in 1929, it topped the US charts for 10 weeks in a recording by Nick Lucas.
oh cool.

@@stevey_Mac I think it was a heart attack Stevey, but he'd been well warned not to perform that night, I think he actually died on stage.

My favorite performance of his is Earth Angel on the Ed Sullivan Show.
